  1. oh i will thanks. al i have is a lot of patience and hardly only about 25-32 hours a week to work on my z.
  2. wow that is all i can say....that car is brand new. wow I am going to go with a black and blue color theme... when i get ready to ter down my whole car i am going to get all the suspension, and everything else powdercoated just like you did, but it will be blue instead of red. You have given so much more inspiration to me to keep on building my 280z and not to give up at all.... but its all worth it in the long run.
  3. I think thats what i'm going to have to do, and i also need to get a multimeter to check all of the voltage, and ohm's like the efi bible says to do., and i will go through all of the tests too.
  4. i have done that test, and it doesn't work. I have two GOOD afms sitting in my garage including the one on the car. if a lower voltage would go to the fuel pump then i would probably be able to keep a constant flow but not too high of a pressure.
  5. post some pics of your ride.......i am would love to see alll the carbon fiber parts on it.
  6. Ican't wait to lay it down on my car....i still have to sand everything smooth.more and more bodywork to go. so far i have the wiper cowl, and the drivers door bondoed, sanded, and prined. the same goes for the hatch.and the passengers side eye cup, and the little doors that cover the battery, and the brake cylnder.
  7. all i know is the ful pump works, but no power is getting to it at all for some reason???
  8. I want to bypass the original harness for my fuel pump to make it turn off and on like it normally should...it is on my 1975 280z coupe. will the relay turn the fuel pump on and off like it should. this is going to be my second to last atempt will be to buy a stand alone fuel management system.
  9. does anyone know how to wire a relay for the fuel pump to make it turn off and on like it should normally???
  10. I've read it once, but now i've decided to print it out and read it again, and try to tackle this problem once and for all.
  11. I am printing the EFI Bible out right now. Thanks
  12. what does the thermotime switch do...i was looking in the haynes manual, and that was included in the fuel injection system?? would that cause the fuel pump not to come on at all? well at this point i'm thinking it is the thermotime switch, or the throttle position sensor....but i don't think the tps has anything to do with the fuel pump does it????
  13. looks really good with that front bumper. I've been thinking of doing the same to my 1975 280z just the front bumper, and i am going to shave the rear
  14. fuel pump still won't come on, and it used to start with the switch i wired to the pump, and now it wont start at all.
  15. I changed the 40 amp, and the 80 amp fusible link on the passenger side of the car under the hood. Theres what looks to be a fusible link coming from the negative side of the battery and thats all of the fusible links i know of. are there any more than that under the hood
  16. besides...if you want to buy a rb26dett engine, with the front clip you could sell all of the parts off of the clip like the right side driver dash, radiator, front differential, and you should be able to make a good portion of your money back.
  17. Yeah there is a z car club but its only for the 350z, and the links to other sites doesn't get me anywhere....this site hybridz has been the most resourceful, and helpful car club site i have found.
  18. yeah it is unfortunatly.....but I live in the good part of gary.
  19. the year of the car is 1975 280z...I never thought of wiring a new relay to the fuel pump...is that difficult, i have never wired anything like that before, just simple circuits...
  20. would your mounts put the rb26dett engine as close to the firewall as possible?
  21. i got rust in my eye one time, and it took three days for it to come cout on its own. it hurt so horibly for three days, may be the worst pain i have felt.
  22. i would like to see the carbon fiber fender, bumper, and taillight panel....PLEASE post some pics.
  23. I test fitted three of my 12 inch mtx subs in the wheel well of my 75 280z, and they fit perfectly, to go with the subs is my 800 watt interfire amp. I will post pics when I start that part of my project....but for now its body work, and painting. ......yay
  24. what about the ecu...could that be the problem? I'm already looking for a cheap stand alone fuel management system if i can't fix the problem
