  1. Im definitely interested as well. I was planning on doing the z32 tranny swap, but this seems like a nice alternative.
  2. Yeah, im in the New Orleans area. And I'd say thats the victory spoiler on that BRE z.
  3. I'm not sure on the aerodynamics, but I like mine
  4. http://www.angelfire.com/extreme/280zxt/ Cruise around that site and I think you'll be pretty impressed. Believe me, the L28 has WAY more potential then we give it credit for here in America. I used to think the L28et was just a mild performance swap too. So I decided to educate myself on other peoples builds to get an idea of how far this set up could go. So of course I stumbled upon the electromotive 280zxT from the 80s and others of the like. Its amazing how much power you can achieve when you actually spend some time and money on actually building the engine and not just throwing more psi at it and taking the factory internals to the limit. Thats one of the main reasons why im STRONGLY considering this route (nothing is set in stone because I haven't actually started the build), i want to see just how far I can take it.
  5. I'll prob want to think about 5 lug in that case. Im currently researching extensively on building a stroker turbo L series. Im not sure how far I'll be able to take it, but lets say 600hp+ and ??? torque. Like I said before, i want to build it right the first time around. This car will most certainly be driven, so Im trying to build a well rounded car.
  6. Thanks for the info! Im not necessarily stuck on a 5 lug conversation. Im planning on having some serious HP and read that a 5 lug conversation was the way to go. To be honest, im just beginning to read about the different rear end options out there. So if theres a set up proven to withstand high HP and still retain 4 lug, that might be the way for me. I was planning on ordering one of the wilwood set ups from you guys(silvermine) next month, but all this rear end information is a lot to take in at once lol.
  7. Cool man, I'll keep that in mind. Im still trying to figure out the best set up for my build before i start blindly dropping money on parts and realize something better is out there.
  8. Yeah I PMed him talking about the rear end and he told me about the front set up that he's developing. My concern is, I have a set of the McKinney s13 coilovers (they're actually on order, I dont physically have them yet) and Im trying to figure out a way to use them instead of the koni set up. I dont see why I couldn't just weld the McKinney strut tubes to Wills strut tubes and call it good.
  9. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/117668-the-ultimate-irs-swap-for-s30s/ Think I screwed up the link in my previous post and don't see a way to edit it (im on my phone), so heres the link to the 8.8 setup
  10. So you're saying the AZ stuff doesn't even keep the factory spec offset? Thats a bummer. Im still trying to decide on a rear end set up, but this is looking very promising http://lm.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.hybridz.org%2Ftopic%2F117668-the-ultimate-irs-swap-for-s30s%2F&h=hAQF1daco&s=1 I think that 8.8 rear end (which includes a 5 lug swap), some front z31 5 lug hubs(or the TTT hubs to keep factory spec), and a silvermine front wilwood kit, wilwood 1" master cylinder and proportioning valve, and 280z break booster (just started looking into boosters, someone chime in if you have a better suggestion) would be a very solid set up.
  11. Ive been searching all over the internet on 5 lug conversations with out much luck. Ive read about the z31 front hub swap and redrilling the rear hubs, but I dont want the positive offset change from the z31 hubs and redrilling factory hubs seems sketchy. Ive read about a set up modern motorsports used to offer, but them seem to be out of business. Ive read about the TTT front hubs that retains factory offset, but they are $450. The $450 plus even the stage 1 wilwood discs all around from silvermine come comparable to Arizonazcars 4 wheel 5 lug wilwood disc swap. Im planning on building a high hp car, and I want it to be well rounded, which is why im considering the 5 lug swap. So my question is, is there a 5 lug hub swap that will allow me to use the silvermine wilwood discs and have them just swap the 4 lug rotors to 5 lug? For under $2200? And is 5 lug even 100% necessary for a street car/weekend racer that will see some track time(drag/road course), but not an actual "race car"?
  12. Im going to email them expressing interest too. Maybe it'll light a fire under their butts haha.
  13. No worries. These particular wheels only on in the sizes ive listed in the first post, so im kind of just working with it. I love the look of zg flares, so im not worried about spilling over so much. I like the idea of wider wheel and more traction. But i wont have to worry about that too much because my z is no power house. Just a L28 with exhaust and a holley 4 barrel all done by the previous owner. The 15x10s should work fine and give me the look im trying to achive for now.
  14. Exactly, a certain look. I understand the difference between offset and backspacing. Come on guys, Ive been a member of this site for years and have always found it to be very informative. Dont try to bash me thinking im a noob, this is my third s30 and 5th Z in general. I was used the word aggressive so much to get the point across that i wanted the best fitment i could get with a wide stance ( filling in flush bamf flares) and didnt want to come off as a hella flush jdm tyte yo kid. Im going with the 15x10 3" backspacing all around to achieve a fitment similar to the link i posted in my last post. ill update with pics when it's done. Prob gonna be a few months. Coil overs are first on the list.
  15. I work 28 days on an offshore vessel, so going to the garage and getting my hands dirty is impossible right now or i would have just done that instead of making this thread. I did a little searching and found this He is running 15x10 with a 4.5" backspacing on all four corners with a 225/50/15 tire. He seems to fill in the zg flares pretty well, but it looks like there is some wiggle room still. So i was thinking about going with the 15x10 3" backspacing for all four.
  16. Which combo of offsets should i get is what im wondering. I assume 15x12 1" backspaceing would be too much, even with bamf flares. I mean thats an 11" lip lol. But i really dont know.
  17. I'll get right to the point. Im wanting an aggressive wheel set up for my 72 240z. I want good fitment with either zg or bamf zg flares. For the wheels i found, my options are 15x10 in either a 3" or 1" backspacing and 15x12 in either a 3" or 1" backspacing. I understand these are extreme offsets, I wouldn't ming a staggered set up, just as long as a can get aggresive, flush fitment. I plan on doing a coilover set up. I just thought id hop on the wheels first while they are on sale. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  18. Im not 100% sure. Prob an 06-08 or so. I had that car painted around 08and or 09. And yeah its world ralley
  19. Heres my old z. In the works of getting another one very soon. Its subaru sti blue
  20. what dslr are you using? and what settings were you using if you dont mind me asking? Im trying to expand my style and i love how crisp your pics are and the usage of aperture. I shoot with a nikon d60 btw =].
  21. thanks man. ill deff take this into consideration. ill keep everyone posted
  22. yeah im gonna get it back for sure..or at least try. but i really dont know whats going on as far as a new car. i have a nice straight body 77 280z in my back yard that i wouldnt want to cut up for parts if i need them..and idk if id want to deal with a restoration if i get money. and a have a 94 300zxTT that i was workin on for my daily. i guess ill get that running like planed and decided to either restore my 77 or fix my 76 with other parts or just get a new z thats already well off. ..maybe turbo swapped already with a stright body or somethin..who know. ...as long as i dont get screwed and get no money at all, somethin will work out.
  23. yeah that makes since. never mind then. thanks anyway guys
