I think there is always more demand for reproductions (or improved repros) of stock parts.

Yea, that is what I was thinking. Its hard to change the Z hood while still maintaining the center hump. Ive been quietly working on some tail light panels for a little while now that im hoping will interest a lot of people. Basically the stock design but its a one piece panel instead of the panel and the chrome trim ring separately. Plan on making a few carbon fiber and a few fiberglass. Ive almost got the mold done

How good would a stock fiberglass hood or all fiberglass l88 style hood sell do ya think??
I would like to come up with something that isn't on the market yet tho...
-
Ok nevermind, I did a little searching and I see what you are talking about. I'm not real sure if there would be enough room for an aggressive vent like that in front of the bulge though...
-
And yes I really like the l88 style hood. What are you talking about with the vents tho...
-
Yes, i really like that viper style hood. Do you know if there is anywhere that sells just the scoop part like that?

I have been making Fox Body Mustang fiberglass hoods and body parts for a while now. The past few weeks I have been debating on making a mustang style hood for the Z. I am hoping I can get some opinions on which style hood looks better and would sell better. I am debating on making either a 2 1/2 inch cowl hood or possibly the Ram Air style hood. The hoods will be bolt on hoods with an unfinished underside. Im personally leaning towards the Ram Air hood mainly because no one makes it or anything like it. Ive seen a couple pictures of cowl hoods on Datsuns and I personally dont think it flows with the car very well. But, as I stated, I would like some opinions on it, I know not everyone has the same opinions as I do. Any opinions, thoughts or questions........

I have searched and searched and cant seem to find an exact length. Car is an early 74 260z, 2 seater. I currently have a 400 small block with a short tailshaft 350turbo. I bought a GM T5 transmission to install and am planning on getting the driveshaft shortened as the one in it now is way too long. Cant seem to find the length it should be on the internet anywhere... any help would be great, thanks guys!!

From what ive read the lt1 isnt externally balanced, i might get it anyways tho just in case
-
Also, can you tell me if i will need anything other than the tranny, bellhousing and bolts, and the shifter??
-
Ok, thanks a million for your help man, uve saved me a ton of hassle!!! I should be pulling the t56 out of the camaro tomorrow, i will update everyone as i go
-
Also, does anybody know about the bellhousing? Some ppl have told me it will bolt right up to my block and some have said I would need a differant bellhousing...
-
yea, from my research, centerforce makes an externally balanced flywheel setup. My car is prolly only around ~350 at the crank. I plan to go ahead and rebuild the trans while it is out and buy a nice clutch and master cylinder. Once I get everything I need I will be taking tons of pics of the install and do a write up so anyone else planning this in the future wont have near as much trouble with this swap. Thanks for all your help so far robftw!!!

I dont know, whats the differance and i will look tomorrow befor work.

One guy on a chevy forum told me i would need the bellhousing of a late 80s camaro, anyone know if there is any truth in that?? Also ive heard centerforce will make an externally balanced flywheel?? Will i be needing the starter off the camaro?
-
Thanks for the help man, ive been searching and searching and searching and still havent found all the details yet. Im very close tho, mainly just needed to know if the bellhousing would fit

Will it bolt to my 400? Also, how can i find out if i have the 9" 350 turbo.
-
I mainly just want to know if it will even fit to my block. I can pick one up for around 100 bucks?!?!
-
aahhh, my bad, thought i threw that in there

Thanks for the responce, i will definatly be taking your advice. Im not an auto person. Manual cars are just so much more fun to drive. The car will mainly just be a fun little street car with a visit to the track a couple of times a year. You said i would need a 240z clutch assembly, why a 240 instead of a 260, whats the differance and will it bolt straight up. Also will the t56 bolt to my block?
