  1. my question is the problem with the 200ZR pan...from what i have heard on here that the crank baffle on the first three cylinders of the RB26 wont fit in the pan, and the engine wont start/work properly without them in...i dont know if the above is true or not, but if it is, what modifications did you do to get the front baffles to fit
  2. i really like that red, but the problem is that i want a darker red then that its a close race between imperial jade mica, midnight purple, and carmona red metallic
  3. thanks but i am already talking to a local tuner about getting me some custom Borg Warner units made, the twins we are planning right now would top out at about 430 each, but a single one on a 2.4L engine will spool almost instantly so two of those would be awesome, on the other hand we are looking at a single turbo that will max out about 900 and has proven to put down over 517 HP at 17 PSI
  4. haha believe me i understand lag... i had a 61mm turbo on my neon SRT-4 the twin turbos are going to be custom one off Borg Warner ET turbos if they were twins so that would help, im not going with too large of turbos...looking for turbos that would max out total at 900 HP and then i could dial in below that to make sure the turbos are safe the single big turbo will also be a custom built Borg Warner unit maxing out at a similar amount of power i know this sounds kind of ricey but i like the way twin turbos look in there and with a manifold that is header wrapped and nice custom heat shields built by me...i think it would look good but would it perform the way i want...im not sure
  5. well that's what I was looking for, your car is actually the main reason I chose the rb26 over any other engine, the work and car is incredible Do you want to go single for the lag? Or is it just too complicated to work on? If I could just get a few opinions from you on why

Alright on my RB26 ive decided to keep it at or under 600 HP this year and then next year pull the block and build it. so im going to get everything ready besides the bottom end and just have to build that over the winter, but onto my turbo choices, garrett and turbonetics are out of the question...new technology is available and they arent using it...I'm going with Borg Warner Extended Tip Turbos no questions asked the best performing turbos and the closest anyone could get to a perfect turbo, on a size to size comparison with garrett turbos, the BW ones spool faster and have better top end So my question... Upgrade to twin BW S252 (GT2871 comparable) with each one making out around 450 but spooling faster then its comparable garrett turbo or Large Single BW S366 (GT42R comparable) spools faster makes more HP, a .82 exhaust will make about 950 What do you guys think? overall i know the twins will look better and perform just as good on the car

LP2 (R33)Midnight Purple (no Chromalusion, has 2 pearl tinters Violet & Red) LV4 (R34)Midnight Purple II (Chromalusion Tinter KK760 Absolute Purplene & Vilot Pearl) LXO (R34)Midnight Purple III (Chromalusion Tinter KK700 True Blazberry Prizm & 2 pearls red & Violet) the midnight purple on the R33 is standard midnight purple, that is my mistake, above is what makes the midnight purples look so good and why they were so rare i believe only 400 total cars were shot with midnight purple 3, but at the same time only 100 supras were sprayed with imperial jade mica I want to shoot it in midnight purple because i think its the most incredible color and would look awesome on the retro car, and if im going RB26DETT i have to match the paint code hahaha, but at the same time all of those colors would look incredible on a 71 widebody 240Z

After thinking about it ive decided to go with a different color other then black, i want something that around here is original, and i wont see on another car, so ive come up with these choices, and i need some members of the Z community to help...My personal favorites that i really cant choose between are Midnight Purple II and Midnight Purple III (both were skyline metallic limited edition paint colors) as you can see above in the poll my choices are... Midnight Purple Midnight Purple III Sparkling Graphite Metallic Monaco Blue Metallic Imperial Jade Mica Carmona Red Metallic Basalt Black Metallic So what do you guys think?

  14. i have like 4 months to finish the car so whenever in that time is fine, i will be working on everything else first and building up the motor, so like i said just send me a PM on more details and we can go from there
  15. ive been talking to Racer98 about his builder motor so thats what i will most likely go with and ask him about getting everything else for me once the motor is ready

  19. Now here comes the hardest part of my hybrid Z, finding a reputable company to buy a motor and tranny with everything else needed that is in great condition...Can some people help me out here and give me some good leads on places i could begin to look?
  20. I'm looking for RB mounts and i know the 200ZR ones will work, but I'm still interested in the Brad mounts or the Infinity ones, does anyone have any of the above for sale, or any RB motor mounts for that reason?

Well since i sold my neon SRT-4 and i got a caliber SRT-4 for everday driving i wanted a project car to start on, i originally looked at 240SX's but they were too heavy for what i was looking for and everyone around here as a 240SX with an SR20 in it, one with an RB20 in it...I started looking around and i have always loved the looks of the 240Z so i stumbled on this site and i knew this is the car i wanted, after finding a good car to start with, i then decided on the plans, here they are...and knowing me they will change a lot haha, but im pretty content with what i have listed -71 240Z with an RB25DET Now that i have that settled here is my plan...   23. thanks dan those will definitely come in handy! do you happen to know if they use the SR20 mounts? or do you have to use the L24 mounts? also i wonder if they can come down at all in price, that is some expensive pricing they have going on over there
