  1. also remember that the 700r4 has a much lower first gear than a turbo 350...... so that in itself makes a big diff on low end pull... Stan ------------------
  2. heh just a thought it is my understanding that you should select a stall right where or about where your peak torque happens for max perfomance.... forget horsepower as that is just a state of mind... torque wins races hands down. so get the numbers and tune your converter as needed...... Stan
  3. great point on irs vs solid thanks I will be going solid for my application due to high HP. but will not be afraid of SCCA comp.... as curves is one thing but coming out of a curve with brute power is an other....... Stan
  4. I dont agree I just got off the phone w/my brother who works w/ nascar peeps it is all in the setup.... and durability versus handling there is a trade off but when running over 600 hp it is advisable to run solid axle as irs has many weak componets.... and NASCAR runs solid only at 200 mph but he did say that the ride would probly be better on a normal street car..... and that if you did the proper setups on both they would be very close except for like dirt or very rough roads then the irs would be a little better just a thought... where I need very good durability..... Stan
  5. Why is it that everyone seems to be hung up on keeping the irs rear? just what do you have over solid axle besides pike's peak hill clime ect. for norm pavement ect isnt a solid just as effective ne:NASCAR ? Stan
  6. was running low 11's last year many times then the breakage god struck broke many ujoint's twisted halfshafts and sheard axel bolts all while running slick's and 3600 stall we gave up...... we are now putting full tube chassis and 9" rear can anyone say MONEY PIT..... STAN
  7. yes it will I had the same setup on mine and it works fine..... Stan
  8. hey save your $$$ northstars suck for that kind of $$ you can have a 450 hp 383 if you build it right.... and we build 400-500 hp 350's on 2-bolt all the time for circle track and they work fine..... we roast valves way before the bottom end gives up... we have never seen a 2-bolt main give up even at 8000 rpm...... but we have seen rods/pistons crater just a note on this......... scarp
  9. a friend of mine just kept hounding me and then just pissed me off about how his new vette would wax my Datsun ( ya right ) so i gave up and raced him...... poor him 8 car links later he was floored at my run HE HE.... this rich guy is now going to trade his c5 for a new viper.... but new heads and more is on order for my Z just thought I would share this...... scarp
