Hey corZette I was reading a mag a while back on the ZZ5 (will try to find it) and I think they went with the "HOT CAM" and made 434 hp. on that very same ZZ5. I think that is a great crate with lots of posability. go down to SDPC and talk with there techs they are very helpfull. just tell them what you want and they can custom build it. they do full port jobs ect. Have a dyno room for testing and have built lots of crates (mild to wild) as far as your email on jetting I setteled on 72's squared but this is something that you your self will have to tune. get the jet kit and lots of sparkplugs. then go make a wide open run and check a plug jet up or down and try again till you get it where you like it. its a pain in the a$$ but worked for me. ya I really wished I could have made more passes. I knew I had to pedal in first then wide open in second (spun) third hooked hard and flew think it might have got in the 10's with practice but tech inspector nor I knew the kind of times this thing would put down this was all done on M/T DOT's 9" the track here was very concerned about the safety of my car and I dont blame them a bit. never dynoed that combo so I have no Idea but guees 450 hp. lotsa compression 11.9:1 246/253@.050 and .510/.507 comp cam and here is the joke HOME pocket ported and gasket matched with drill. sportsman II heads. performer rpm with 750 vac. modified holly lotsa time spent with jetting YUK. but it was a lot of fun on the street. GREAT outlook and fantastic POINT. it is a good thing that my wife does not get on my garage computer. but she really has been wanting me to do this project. I know guys who spend 2000.00 a mnth on (hitting the little white ball) so my project is small potato's compared to mnth after mnth of 2000.00 bill's she has always loved being able to hit an onramp at 20 mph and punch it and be running a 100 into traffic and not get run over like the geo guys......... my view.. (high perf= less traffic problems) she just thinks I have LOTSA $$$ in my HOBBY account. for other things... (NOPE) but now it seems as this project will take a long time as I really am out of $$$$ for a while.. guess will have to buy carpet/drapes to keep the peace. again just guess it just small potatos... Pretty neat at a fat weight and price 0-60 times seem slow for 400 hp most v-8 Z's would stomp it (he he) Stan ------------------ I love the Datsun body's they are better than PLAYBOY -
get some vht liquid traction and go smoke him Myron even with out the 100 shot those things are real tail happy unless he is a very and I mean very good driver he will light the tires and see nothing but V-8 Z tail lights as a kid he probley cant shift well and the NOS would be a bad problem if used in 1st-3rd GO SPANK HIM (and you will)

hi ya'll I got to drive my friends new viper today I must say I was pretty impressed. but from 70 mph up it really did not pull as hard as my 240 the way it was..... the viper seemed to not be all they have said it is as it really did not feel very stable at speed.... and was fairly unpedictable.... sorry but I'll take my old Z.... wish it was still on the road as I would have spanked this viper.. they must have alot of weight to them also as it seemed less nimble than my old wore out and rebuilt 240..... VIPERS BEWARE !!!!!!!! Scarp

my friend that had the 2000 c5 showed up this eve.with a new viper coupe. wanting to race me. only to find my 240 torn down. how ever he did happen to see a bigblock crate motor in the corner and ask what that was? I just told him it was an old 396. hehe but really it is a 502 ci 602 hp.from SCOGGIN DICKEY... I have alot of work to do to my old 240 as in full tube frame ect. so guess he will have to race Jon hehe. or if anyone else thinks they can handle a new viper let me know as this guy is rich but very umm stupid....... I really think I could have waxed him the way it was. except for maybe top end....
