  1. Ok I got my seals on the R-200 replaced now where can I find solid u-joints for the axel's (non grease zert type)
  2. has anyone replaced there seals in the diff. If so HOW IN THE HELL do you get the half shafts out of the diff???????
  3. First of all WELCOME to HybridZ I am not real sure about 0-60 with the scarab conversion due more possable wheel spin. I would realy consider changing it to the JTR style. Is it a stock 350 or mild to wild built? all I can tell you is even with a stock 350 you will have neck breaking 0-60 compared to a stock even fresh I6 240.... it will realy suprise you.... Stan

  5. maybe I was too crude on that reply (I didn't mean to be) but I have tryed to help with build ups on 305's and turned out fair but not what was to be expected. however a 305 would be a great STARTER MOTOR if you have limited funds... build it drive it improve it.... hmmm heard that somewhere.....   6. freshin it up and sell it and take the $$$ and build a good motor ie. 302,327,350,383,400, ect. this is just my opinion but 305's are junk. they were never ment for a HP build up. I presently have a 302 (4" bore 3" stroke) and I love it. revs good and makes great horsepower. the 305 is kind of an oddball I cant seem to remember but somthing like 3.736" bore and 3.48" stroke (same stroke as a 350ci but very small bore)not my piece of cake. Go for at least the 4.0" bore or more. " again just my opinion " Stan
  7. Yep getting ready to get my tail to DFW (leave sunday) as far as the GN goes hey Thur. I got a trailer from my father inlaw and went to see if I could purcase the whole car. after talking to the old feller about it he said thet he would take $1,000 for it. a grand for that ROLL OVER it has crush wrote all over it!!! tell ya what I'm going to offer $300 one time for it or you can just keep it CRUSH IT and get $50 for the scrap metal. Long story/short it's sitting in my father inlaws barn. waiting to be disassembled. Oh by the way it's a 87 model I dont know if that is a disirable year as I know little about GN's [This message has been edited by scarp (edited August 12, 2000).]

As an RSA cell site tech I put on alot of miles and go through many small towns. in my travels I stop at salvage yards sometimes in search of the rare R200/LSD well I stopped in this little poedunk town trying to find a bite to eat today and thought I would stop by this little yard I walked in and ask the little old man if he minded if walked around the yard. he said help yourself. As I was looking for any Z I noticed a black rollover three cars high and I thought hmm that kind of looks like a GN. as I got closer my pulse started to race. it is a GN but I bet it was robbed blind as the rearend was gone. I climbed up on a car and saw an oilpan WOOHOO then looked in the crushed roof to see 31560 on the od. I went back to the office and told the old guy that I thought I might have found a rebuildable V6 for my wifes little car but it was three high. He sent another little old man out with a fork lift and he lowered the car down to the ground and went back. DADGUM it took me about 30 min. to open the crushed hood and then there it was all intact hoses and all. then I got the computer right there and then and went back to the office with my best (I'M tired of working on this crap face) and told the owner that I think I found a rebuildable v6. and he said if I would pull it then I could have it for get this $100.00 I paid him right there and then then I came home and loaded up the cherry picker,jacks and tools. Damn that cell site up there it sure is going to have lots of problems tomarrow (I LOVE MY JOB) the ?? is what else do I need to pull? as much of the wireing as possable? Gezz I dont even know what i am going to do with this. all I know is I want it. HEY scotty HELP I need you to tell me what not to miss... Stan

Maybe I'm looking at things wrong but it seems that the more exhaust flow 3 liters vs 5 liters to the turbos they would spin even harder creating more flow than the 3 liter. and I was thinking small turbos = faster spin up and less turbo lag. but I guess I'm pretty DUMB on this.   15. I have found a set of twin turbos off of a 300zx in great shape. I know I am in for Plumbing headaches ect. would these work on a 302ci v8 ????

  19. I guess I'm tinking too much.. last Z had a built 700r4 that I had no problem with. but I understand the 4L80e is much stonger. however I have not seen much aftermarket stuff for this tranny. what do ya'll think is the 4L80e an overkill for a lightweight car or what? Stan

Hey guy try A-1 Transmission of Lubbock I told them what I wanted and they built a great 700-R4... there on 34th but hard to find as there shop is set way back between buildings... be sure to talk to the owner!!! and tell him what you want... he built mine a few years ago and it was a pretty good tranny.... with no electronics. he also has several converters in stock so tell him what you want... there are probly some other great trans guys in Lubbock but this is the one I know about good luck 73's Stan

    Shifters

    I have owned several b&m (ratchet) shifters such as the star shifter megashifter ect ant I have BANGED them all really hard and never missed a gear ! John I'm not sure what shifter you may have had that you had problems with but most of the new B&M shifters are ratchet and work pretty good for the $$$ the megashifter I had on my Z had both p/n safety switch and reverse light switch the only thing is I did like the starshifter better as it had a mode where once in first you could pull the t-handle up and pull it back into (safety?)race mode where you could only go 1-2-3 (that one was on a ford)and thats it till you pulled the t back and put it back in normal mode where as the megashifter you ratchet 4-3-2-1 then 1-2-3-4 however once in 4th you can ratchet to N works ok that way like at the end of high speed run go to N and coast to bring your RPM down on the motor..
