Ok I am sorry I have not mentioned in previous post that I have a msd blaster 2 ignition coil. I thought I had, was prob somewhere else. Tach works, however not with the msd ignition coil. Im just trying to get my tach to work. Ive got a 6/73 240z. 4 speed. I have the 8920 adapter, I cant tell if I need the 6A with it or not. I also just saw the 6AL 2. Looks pretty nifty.

Also I think if the OP added pictures that would help alot! Just a thought to help others down the road too.

Could I just get a new distributor, and tachometer. hook that up and my msd coil and not need the adapter at all? Obviously I would want to match the distributor triger to the tachometer pick ups.

Ah. so ide probable have to use an adapter and the 6A even with a new guage. Could I Use a 280z or zx distributor and then not need the adapter? could i use the stock 73 tach with the newer dizzy or would that still not work? I have a msd blaster 2 coil, I want a new Tach, but I dont think that just getting a new tach will work. So I guess ide need a different dizzy, and not need the adapter. Correct?

Did you have to use a msd tach adapter with this or can you use a tach from there with out the adapter. I have a 6/73 240z and have a msd type 2 blaster coil. currently tach does not work. it can, but no adapter. and Im gonna upgrade the speedo eventually but i need to start with the tach first. Also was this done to a 240z or a 280z? i keep seeing 240 then 280. kinda confusing a little haha.

So I need to get wither the 6a or the 6al to work with the 8920 tach adapter? Also had a question of that wire to wire to a positive 12v when key is turned on. I was gonna wire it to the temp sensor cause that's a 12v source and when key is on. Does that seem like it will work? In a little bit I may be able to post pictures. So far I've been trying to do this with only the 8920 adapter but if I'm reading right new zed is saying I need either the 6al or the 6a.

I still would like to know if I need the msd 6al. I have the tach adapter 8920. From reading the first post it doesn't say. Just says the tach adapter 8920. However when looking at the instructions provided with the adapter it shows a msd 6al as well.

I'm not sure, Ive got the 8920 adapter. However I still do not know if I need the 6A or 6AL to go with it. Still looking for that answer. But if its working for you then why worry about it right haha.

No it was the only one. Ill have to go back after friday with my paycheck, don't think I have enough for it today. Back at home now. Thanks for the replys guys! I dont think it was a 2+2 and couldnt tell if it was a turbo, there was a little plastic turbo looking thing but it didnt look like it was turboed. anyways from the sounds of it I should just keep my eye out for a z31 and grab one of their r200's.

I see where it says s130 I assume thos aren't with an r200 then.

It looks like a cv shaft. On the side of the diff it looks like no bolts. Just pushed in. On the wheel side it has three groups of two boltts and nuts

Ok sorry for this. I'm on my phone at a jy. I'm working on a 280zx Manuel. It has the rear diff but I'm not sure how to tell if its the r200 or if its worth getting to swap into my 240z. Is it c or v lsd?

I plan on getting the just the tachometer for now, then the speedometer. They looks great! I like the other stock gauges tho. haha. I have a 72 s30 240z and have a msd ignition. Will I still have to use a tach adapter?

Hmmm. It looks a little different. Are you sure it will work on a 2.4? And what are the different sensors? Temp sending unit and fan switch?

As the title says, I broke the wires on the sensors and stripped the bolt holes and would like to just replace the whole thing. Here are some pictures of what I'm looking for. Thanks

Can you do some sort of small write up, like not how to and super detailed, but what you used as far as mounts, wireing, rearend, cluster stuff. Ok I guess thats kinda detailed. Im just curious as to the wiring part mainly, and how you wired up the speedo and tach and what have you. Awesome swap man! I was thinking of it today and have been searching google for it and was supprised at the results I found.

As the title says, need a roof for a 240z s30, so a 240 260 or 280 s30 model will work. I'm in the Nashville area and am willing to drive if not too far.
