  2. It was a VOLUNTARY service campaign, not federal.
  3. Swap for what? If you want to put your RB20 in a Z31 then yes you will need one.

  5. Paying someone to do a RB25 swap plus buying all the components will be very expensive. I would just turbo it, add a intercooler and a boost controller and see how you like that.
  6. The rears, NO. Maybe the fronts, check this link. http://www.az-zbum.com/information.brakes.shtml
  7. I currently own a 4/87 build 87 turbo and a 10/86 build 87 turbo, also have owned 2 other 4/87 and 5/87 turbo's in the past. All manual trans 1987 model year turbo's have the 30A trans. They all have the same sway bars and axles. 4/87 and later cars have the CLSD and the W series engine along with the T-3 turbo. 88 turbo's started using the T-25 turbo and the 88-89 turbo 30A trans had a taller 5th gear ratio.
  8. has not set their status

  9. That's an under the hood shot. The heater is not visable under the dash with out removing the dash and the entire AC/ duct control unit. The control valve for the heater is vacuum operated and in near the passenger firewall in the engine compartment.
  10. The hoses attach to the vacuum control valve +%5C%28Z31&cPath=2317_2318_2361_2379"] +%5C%28Z31&cPath=2317_2318_2361_2379"]

  12. A mechanic was removing cylinder heads from a car when he spotted a famous heart surgeon in his shop who was standing off to the side, waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his car. The mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hello Doc, please come over here for a minute." The famous surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked argumentatively. "So doctor, look at this, I also open hearts, take valves out, grind' em, put in new parts, and when I finish this will work as a new one. So how come you get the big money, when you and me is doing basically the same work?" The doctor leaned over and whispered to the mechanic "Try to do it when the engine is running."
  13. You can buy gear oil in a container with a fill hose and a built in plastic pump. My advice is to pull the fill plug while the transmission is out, put the trans. and driveshalt in and then fill with gear oil.
  14. X-19 or a bathroom mold spray. Watch out for clorine content in what ever you use when spraying it on fabric.
  15. You could buy a already modified turbo car since a NA2T conversion will spend most of that 5K at your friends shop for labor.
  16. I have three sets of Z31 87-89 Z31 black seats in good condition but the S130 interior is tan. I found some nice stock 81 280ZXT tan leather seats on CL for $40. Thanks for all the help.
  17. Thanks, that's just what I was looking for.
  18. What are some popular seat exchanges on the 280ZX 2 seater? I'm not talking about aftermarket racing seats but something I might pick up at a junk yard with minimum modifications. The tan leather seats in the 81 280ZX I just got are wasted and I really don't want to use seat covers from an auto parts store unless there are some that are better than usual. Any idea's?
  19. More pictures of the 1981 280ZX 5 speed I just bought at an estate sale for $200 and drove it 30 miles home with no problems except a bad leaky and loud exhaust. One small dent in the front hood area. small surface rust bubbles in a few spots
  20. I got it from an estate sale and was told it was a 1980 280ZX but the title says 1981. It runs and drives but needs some work, the exhaust pipe is rusted through and dragging on the ground. The inside is the filtiest I have ever seen a Z. cig. ashes 1/2 inch deep on the console. The hatch area is crammed with garbage. I'll hose it out, clean it up and see how it looks then
