  1. you didn't miss it. right now the setup is a z32 trans, r200, and im going to be putting in the wolf creek racing axle set up in the car (unless someone can point me to a better one.) Plans for 2010-2011 with the car are either a th400 or powerglide and a 9inch rear end.
  2. Yes the motor is in, I'm just lacking on time to do the fuel system and finish wiring up the switch pannel. I also need to make another intecooler pipe due to changing to the greddy manifold. Those seem to be the only things holding it back from running again. Ill try and get a couple shots of it in the car soon.
  3. Congrats on the great times!!! looking forward to hearing about you making some even faster times.
  4. LOL probably not but in that off chance, the warning is there. thanks for all of the comments! really appreciate them.
  5. About a year ago i picked up this Z from a member here on the forums unfinished. It was in great condition and ran but wasn't without it's issues. some wiring here and there along with some maintenance and a few things netted a mid 11 sec 1/4 et. at that time I decided to build it and upgrade a few things along the way. Since my girlfriend (lisa) loves cars this was a great opportunity for her to learn and for us to do something we love together, nothing would be so great without her. This project has been under construction for a long time due to time constraints that come with opening up and being the shop manager of a rather large shop. 12-14hr days have really made it difficult to work on this but............. The car is in its final stage with the motor back in, just waiting on me to get some time to do the fuel system plumbing. WOOOHOOOO on to the pics! Here it is in the beginning some parts acquisition Block being cleaned Lisa torquing down the main girdle to check the bearing clearances. Block painted (color is closer to HKS purple than it looks) Pistons and rods assembled Lisa installing the piston rings on to the pistons Mistakes happen. its no biggie Pistons/Rods in the block (can you notice the manufacturing error?) Head is ready to go Freshly ported and polished in house Me (left) putting on the head with Ray (shop owner) adjusting the tb's Lisa putting on a turbo (you mean this goes there =P) http://forums.hybridz.org/newthread.php?do=postthread&f=85 A friend came to shoot some pics before the motor went in, here they are MOD LIST: Wiseco Pistons Eagle Rods ACL Race Bearings ARP Main Studs ARP Head Studs Cometic Headgasket Greddy Oil Pump External Oil pick up with 200zr Pan Ported&Polished Head 5 angle valve job HKS 272 cams HKS Camgears HKS Timing belt HKS Fuel rail Greddy Clear Cover Greddy intake manifold N1 Water Pump Tomei oil restrictor Garrett twin gt2871r turbos Stock exhaust manifolds (ported, polished, modded throughout) T1r 1000cc high impedance injectors Aeromotive a1000 fuel pump Aeromotive FPR Power fc d-jetro + some other things here and there but that's mostly it for the engine Lisa's Mustang Lisa getting down with some slicks see where the color scheme for the motor came from? a couple customer cars a 2jz i just built for this supra let me know what you all think
  6. Give Dusty Womack a call at MVPMotorsports (texas) or Jay Magher a call at RealStreetPerformance (florida) or possible Justin Nenni at Tuning Concepts (Texas) or John Reed at Portland Speed Industries (Oregon) or Darrin Diacharra at Titan Motorsports (florida) All of them have dealt with the AEM V2 extinsively and even beta tested the AEM V2. they should be able to help you with some long-Distance tuning to be able to get you somewhere, they all also do fly out to you location to tune as well. Off note; Good Choice on the AEM V2. I was able to get one of the first batch to toy around with. the AEM V2 is a great ems, there are some pretty cool new features and the new hardware is leaps and bounds faster and overall better.
  7. Looking great! Can wait for your next step! Your set up is really close to my current build in progress. any idea what you or Justin think the max power of those turbos will be? There is a ton of non informed speculation of max power of them across the net, just wondering what the first hand experience and thoughts may be.
  8. That is a great looking oil sump! Looks like oil pressure drop under braking, conering or anything short of being upside down will be stopped or at least brought down to a bare minimum! =) Your setup is similar to mine, I too have a Greddy/Trust oil pump with a -12 fitting installed for an external pick-up. Right now my sump is a 200zr sump with a Moroso oil pick-up welded inside. How many quarts is your new R.I.P.S. sump supposed to hold? Would you mind divuldging the price? It may be something id be looking at picking up. Great sump and great car.
  9. Well my project is nearing completion and I'm wanting to try and figure out the few things ill need once it is done. It is going to be a weekend car with heavy drag racing. I've tried searching on here as well as other sites with no definitive answer just guesses as to what could or should fit. Since most z cars find their home on a road course, this was expected. My question is, what size drag slicks can be fit under a stock rear fender without zg flares or the like and on what offest 15in wheel? The suspension specs on it are tokiko illuminas with sectiond strut housings and ground control coilovers. At this point id rather not tub it out. I hope you guys on here can help me out or at least point me in the right direction =)
  10. I lived in orlando for 2.5 yrs. Rolo at cft (central florida turb) in a good tuner but I personally don't like the way he tunes daily drivability, his wot is great though. For a better all around tune I recommend mark conte at real street performance. He has tuned many great cars and has worked closely with titan for a long time.
  11. I'm interested to know what everyone has seen or made as far as the higest hp on stock rb26dett turbos with many other mods. Basically maxed out besides the actual turbos. What have you guys seen, heard of, or done?
  12. i seem to remember reading somewhere on here about using the fuel tank drain as a "better" feed line. i also remember some people stating that the actual diameter and threads on the tank should be bored out. is this true? what is the stock sizing of the threading and what would it need to be bored out to. also in the process of boring it out, is there enough material that is thick enough to be drilled and re-tapped to make a strong section? i know ive stated that i found some of this info on here previously, ive been searching for the past few weeks on and off to find this but it seems to continue to elidue me so please help me out on this. thank you
  13. Im in for a set of those as well. It would be nice as careless said to have a "lip" in order to paint them. either way, im in pm me with pricing and such when available =)
  14. im really in need of the part numbers or a place to buy the upper and lower injector insulators as well as the injector o-rings for an rb26dett. please help me out if you have any info at all.
