  1. Throttle cable blew out today. Pushed the car to a parking lot, had it towed home, and bought a new cable. I'll fix it when I get back from vacation. See you guys next week!
  2. I won't ruin the surprise, but I will say I'm excited to see how these carbs turn out.
  3. Inspection has been passed! This car is now my daily.
  4. I think they are fiberglass, but I'm not sure. I bought the car and it already had the body kit and the bumpers. Sorry I couldn't be much help.
  5. Unplugged it all and put it all back together the same way, maybe something was not connecting well, but my rear left now works again. Hazards are still a no-go, but I'm gonna clean off the switch now. Thanks Domzs. Edit: Still no hazards.
  6. I had an issue with my turn signal connector under the dash in my 1973 240Z where the connector cracked, the wires shorted, and it melted a bit. I rewired everything, and it all worked. However, I didn't have a crimp tool on hand so I did my crimps on the non insulated connectors just by folding the metal pieces over the wire and giving it a tight squeeze. This worked temporarily but proved to be not be very effective after some wires came loose. I dismantled everything, found the proper tool for the job, and did it again. Now all four of my hazards don't work and my rear left turn signal doesn't work. I checked the fuses, and they're all good. What do you guys recommend? I'm pretty lost when it comes to electrical work.
  7. Repainted the taillight surrounds and added a lightly tinted license plate cover. Looks much cleaner and better.
  8. Edit: Turns out that its a voltage regulator. I've got it figured out. Thanks for the help everyone.
  9. The headers and then the tip. Don't have a good picture of the rear pipe but I'll jack up the rear and take one tomorrow.
  10. Thanks guys, that eased my worries.
  11. I took a peek down my oil filler cap and saw that the cam bearings are extremely worn and scored. What could be the cause of that? How could I fix that (if there's something to do besides the obvious of replacing the part)? Is it okay to drive like this? 1973 240Z with 22k miles. Car does have an aftermarket cam.
  12. Thanks Toni. I browsed through your photo album, your car is amazing, keep up the good work.
  13. I hate the mirrors and wheels, but besides that, its a really cool car. Enjoy it, but safely.
  14. I like that overflow tank. Where'd you get it? It sure beats my rubber hose which goes from the rad and pours excess on the ground. I also really like how the emblems turned out.
  15. Installed the second harness. Moved the no-brand harness to the passenger seat just for the sake of having matching harnesses. I never take passengers in the Z. The new Schroth harness is now on the driver's seat. I'm gonna get crap for this, but yes, they are mounted to the strut towers until I purchase the MSA roll bar and harness bar, or get a cage built. I don't drive the car at the moment, so its not a big deal. I just wanted the harnesses in place. Yes, my weatherstripping is falling to pieces. I need to glue it back on. Also, I replaced the inner shift boot, which was all damaged and cracked. I also noticed the mounting plate was rusty and the paint was damaged so I sanded the rust off and painted it. Here's how it was before. Sanded it and washed the gunk off of both sides. New boot goes in. Plate gets a couple coats of paint, front and back. And then everything goes back in its place.
  16. That's what roll bars are for.
  17. Worst case scenario, its a hunk of crap and you've got a parts car that possibly has Webers or Mikunis. If he's asking $1200, just hammer him down a bit and take it. Best case scenario, you end up with a unique 240Z and put in some money to make it a little more rigid. If it were me, I'd go for it.
  18. I've got the same problem now, as of last night. Haven't changed a single thing in my computer, no settings have been changed, no updates have been made.
  19. All done with the faulty connector! That was pretty tedious having my head in the footwell with a back injury. But hey, it was fun as well. I'll upload a picture in a bit. Edit: Here's the photo. the bright white connector is the one I rebuilt.
  20. Tested out the last two connections and figured them out. One was for the wipers, the other was rear left turn signal. Everything works!
  21. Awesome. Everything works now! Thanks everyone for the help. All that's left is figuring out those two spare connectors that plug in to another one of the same color (except all 4 are the same color), but that's easy.
  22. Just checked it, nothing. Just the coil, distributor, and the Magnition system.
  23. Thanks, NewZed. I'll look around and see if there's anything I missed, but I really doubt it, unless its really well hidden, or in the glovebox which is stuck closed.
  24. Riverside sounds pretty nice, but I've never been around there before. Usually I tend to stick around the UNF area. And that makes more sense that you bought it in 1986, I couldn't imagine finding an S30 at a dealership today.
