I looked at my computer and it has the part # 16181333 witch is the Y code Computer. Just to make everything clear it looks like all I have to do is wire it the same as a F-body car get the right cable for my computer and then use the lt1edit to take the theft device of the computer? I hope this is right.
Thanks

Is there any one else that knows if the Lt1 edit will work with the 94-95 Vettes computer. I only got the main computer with my swap.

Has anyone tried to use 95 vett manifolds? They look like they might fit. I have a 1995 Corvett lt1 and 4l60e on its way. I am going to try the stock headers.

When I built my 280z with a 700r4 I had to find a big hammer. Are the 240z alot smaller than the 280z cars. I have a 240z only because I live in Ca now. I just like the auto for drag racing at the track. I think that a auto trany would be alot faster of the line than a t56 z.

I know it is tight fit, but I need to here from the people that have put the lt1/4l60e into 240z cars. I am about to buy the engine and trans. I know that 700r4 fit in 280z with out to many problems, I had one.

Jeromio, the wiring is not a problem on the LS1or lt1 they are about the same. I have a weelder so I can make some mounts, I made some for a z-car with a Ford 302, so it cant be that hard. The problem that I see are the manifolds and acc. I will like to see how your car comes out. Right now I am build the car, paint roll cage-brakes. So it will be about 6 months before I pick the motor that I want to go with.

Have you run your car at the track with the lt4 heads?

I sold my old Z-car to (1fastz) It was a 383 carb that would run low 11's all motor. But now I want to build my new 1972 240z with a more modern motor. I like the LS1 engine alot but it looks like more problems than the LT1. For the price of a LS1 engine I could put a lt1 in and have $$ left over for lt4 heads hot cam lt4 intake and the lt4 would make more power. Is there any reason to go with the ls1 over the lt1 other than weight?
Thanks

I am about to do the swap in my 1972 240z. I use to own 2 1977 z-cars in the past with 383/T350trans. But in this car I want a more modern engine. I like auto because they are faster in the 1/4 mile, but I have been told that the 4l60 does not fit good in the 240z. does anyone know how the 4L60 and t56 fit in the 240z cars with the JTR mounts?

Any quarter-mile times for 305-powered Zs?

I had a 280z 8 years ago with a 305/700r4 trans 600 carb and a very smal cam.
The car ran 13.6@102mph
I put a 350 in later but the 305 was a very good daily driver.
