  1. I used a welpac 100 for many years with some good luck. I now have a Hobart 175amp 220volt welder. If you are going to spend the $$ you might want to go for the 220 volt and at least a 150-175amp welder. About $650 on ebay

  2. I am in about 4,000 right now and I have about 2-3 more months left

I should have everything done for less than 6,000. My last big bill will be for the paint. But for less than 6k i was able to build a car with,

    1972 240z

    95 Corvette motor 4l60e trans

    Fuel system

    R230 rear end

    Rear disk brakes

    Roll cage, sub frames

    Tokico shocks and springs

    Headers and ex

    Corvette shifter

    And many more

So it does not take that much $$ just Time. I started last year and I built everything. I have built carb v8 swaps for less than 3,000 before, so it can be done but you have to find the good deals.

  3. I built my exhaust for my LT1 and I went with 2.5 from the headers into a flowmaster Y and then into one 3" out the back. The 3" fits just fine on the Z-car, I had more room this time around with the R230 and new diff mount. But 311rwhp is good. My first 280Z had about the same HP and would run 12.4@112mph this was with a 2720# weight. I would like to see some track times.

Part # BZ3013 is the part # that I got off Tokico web site.

I am going to run Arizona z sport springs also.

    thanks
