My friend got the same ticket, paid the fine and went on his way... I'm not sure about car car being black listed from being registered ever again.

In all honesty they should give me a prize for putting a modern EFI motor in a 40 year old car, but its really not about emissions in the end...

Sheriff pulled my brother over (I was passenger) for a modified exhaust. He said its illegal to have a modified exhaust in california and asked for us to pop the hood... you should have seen his face hahahaah. He was like "holly ****... uhh these pipes don't have carb eo numbers on them" I'm thinking how about that fire breathing dragon the pipes are attached too lol. So he writes us up for "modified smog device" and exhaust.
Went to the ref and the guy said the cop was bored for messing with us and hes only had a few classic cars in his 10 years working there but it happens. Regardless there's pretty much nothing he could do for us, sent us on our way. Pretty much gonna get a lawyer to drop it or pay the fine... whichever is cheaper but I've put over 30k miles on my Z already so its a small price to pay I guess haha.
pic of engine bay for reference... lol

nice work man... reminds me of my car lol

TPS disconnected when trying to set timing or plugged in... if im not mistaken it needs to be unplugged.

better safe than sorry bud! much better to take care of it before rather than after!

Just ran my friends rb powered s14 and the single walbro was leaning out on the top end at around 400-450whp... fuel pressure dropping to 30. I would highly suggest more fuel before you go and have to reschedule a session. What makes matters worst is tuning against pressure drop and realizing it later and having a useless fuel map which is overly rich once the fuel pressure problem gets sorted.

I had actually dropped the car a little more for the show too, good times haha. I def like that Z in the link, seen it around the net for sure. Can't beat the rotas for looks/fitment/PRICE$$ though lol.
-
yes I did! Exactly what you said, I ended up with the 9/9.5 setup. I've been thinking about going to some lightweight 18's for the next set... tires seem to be limited in the 17" rim category lol

Thats a good spot for sure... only reason I've heard people put it right after the turbo is in case the sensor breaks (not sure how often, or ever this happens) it wont destroy the turbine blades on your turbo. For what its worth putting it after the turbo will show lower overall temps but it will still be able to gauge a difference in temp so it still has functionality.

A leak or tear in an intercooler pipe coupler wouldn't effect your idle vacuum so I would go through them and see if you have any boost leaks. I would also check TPS voltage for smooth operation from ~.45v to ~4.5v

1645cc? I think it should be just like half a LS7 and be 3500cc.
They said its half the motor and its scaled down.

Looks like a clean chassis man and a load of good parts... ill be watching this one, good luck with the project!

I did section my struts, I think the springs themselves are fine although I'm looking for other alternatives. For a mild 1-2" drop they would be fine but even with sectioned struts I'm way to close to bottoming out the shock and I really want to change to a arizonazcar type setup where the shock body is threaded so doesn't loose travel when the car is lowered. [shameless plug]I'm actually thinking about selling my complete setup so PM me if you are interested! lol [/shameless plug]

checked to see if all the valve guides are in place... ive seen them crack and drop a piece off into the head.
-
Still riding it out, more time goes by the less i care about a paint job lol. Been just enjoying the car lately for a change hahaha.

could be turbo or non, manual or automatic. So pretty much any z32 ecu between 90-93... The newer z32's have a slightly different ecu which doesnt work.
Here's a good thread on it, requires repinning 8 or so wires on your ecu harness to compensate for the change in firing order, o2 and knock sensors.

yo BigPhil, just a heads up. Not sure if you want to retain the VTC of the rb25 head if you do you can use a z32 (6-7 wires need repinning) ecu and nistune which will allow you to keep it, this is the setup im running. The rb20 ecu doesn't activate vtc so that gets lost in the mix. Also if you decide to keep vtc there is some oil mods that need to be done to the rb30 block which is documented somewhere online.

not true at all... Series one still has individual coilpacks, they just have an external ignitor firing them vs. the series 2 which has ignitors built into the coilpack.
GT3076r is a great all around turbo for the rb25det if you want to spend big coin or like others said you can get a holset for cheap.

My friend used that combo with these big o-rings which were supplied with the fuel rail and although I was skeptical they worked out fine. I believe they were greddy injectors on a JGY rail.

Thanks man! Let me know if you need anything, be glad to help you out.

PRC racing radiators are super affordable and come in a ton of variations as far as size, inlet/outlet locations, built in oil cooler etc....
Lot of the RB guys are running them including myself and when everyones car is overheating at willow springs on a hot day my car is still chillin!
http://www.prcracing.com/aluminum-radiators.html
I bought from them direct... its the cheapest this way. Came out to 250 shipped for a fully tig welded aluminum radiator WITH an oil cooler and AN fittings. Click on the signature link to see some shots of the radiator setup.

all the bolts for the headlight and headlight bucket are from inside the fenderwell. The screws you are messing with are headlight adjustment.

Looking good bud, keep up the good work!
Got a referee ticket lmao!!!

Did some reading and asked a friend of mine which had 5 ref tickets on his integra and it looks like I can just pay the fine and be on my way (~$400-$650)... pretty much what the referee told us too. My idea with the lawyer was not to fight this case, rather drop the case due to some legal mumbo jumbo... $$$ talks in this town folks, gotta pay to play!
