  1. Hey Piston, are you still in the Fresno area, I just moved here from San Diego and was looking for a few Z's or anything that has to do with Nissan or any car culture, I been in the Lemoore / Hanford / Visalia area for two weeks now and its been disappointing. Any ideas of meets or events that happen around these parts would be awesome.
  2. Update: So I decided to run Atara's 15x9's all the way around, considering I have the standard flares installed on the Z. The 10.5's were just way too aggressive on the 2.5" rear flares and had a good 1 inch on the poke. I haven't figured out how to post pics on here yet but when I do I will. Eugene sent me some of the test fits we did awhile back. So I decided to run the ('s all the way around and just use a wider aspec ration in the rear to fill in the flare. and that way as well I have a better wheel tire combo option than besides running Toyo R888's all the time. They put in an expedited delivery so they should be here soon. mean while I'll figure out how to post pics here when I get the in.
  3. And now I know... I just also wanna fill in that horrible wheel gap, and find the right tires to go with the set up, and for the prices on the BC coilovers (other thread)
  4. I understand the back order and the issues with the Maylasia search. So I'm just being patient. I'll check with Eugene come mid April to get another update. I think I might change my tire sizes and run 215/60 and 225/60 respectively. I believe Falkens come in that size... I'm still running calculations but cant really get a good reference until I see the wheels and tires on the car. Eugene offered to keep doing wheel and tire fitments on the one set he has but we both still have our day jobs and I'm not too much in a hurry. so I'll keep watching this post and update as soon as JPN or Eugene says the shipments are in. Im also running stock struts with MSA springs and the initial test fit cleared the spring perch but it was on 195s and 205s. If you guys want can ask JPN to contact Eugene he took pictures with wheels on my Z and stock suspension. I am also looking into coilovers soon. So im watching the BC Coilover thread as well which should runn awesome with these wheels.
  5. No I didnt get the wheels yet. Like JPN said... 8 weeks I ordered them back mid FEB
  6. Thats who I got mine from... but wasnt sure if I was allowed to use his name on the forums. So just waiting on the shipment. Longest estimated 8 weeks ever. Not their fault.
  7. I have the standard flares mounted so right now I'm going to try the staggered fitment with 215/60's and 225/60's. Just waiting for the shipment. I used a wheel tire calculator to see what sizes should work and started looking and pricing out tires and availability. I've seen Shakotan's Z everywhere too. The West coast Rep (I don't know if I'm allowed to give out his real name) but he actually referenced JNPGarages car.
  8. I ordered a staggered set from a local rep here in SD. Just waiting for them to come in the mail. The inly draw back I see so far is find tires to fit.
  9. @619Kris ... is that the Atara set up from Eugene? Im looking to get a set with standard flares. Looks good, for now Im located in SD too, work in progress.
  10. Found it!!!! Wiring Specialties. check out their website. loosk promising.
  11. Good luck, I'm doing research as well. Let me know if you find something or figure it out, and I'll do the same. I do believe there's a small write up on ratsun titled somewhere along the lines of "Wire SR/CA/KA into anything" and it looked like a circuit board with relays power and ground. I even think there's a video on it. Other than that I wouldn't know where to buy it. I was thinking of doing the swap mounting the engine and everything else then tow it to a professional shop and have them wire it up independently.
  12. I know a lot of people like the classic look of the retro sound stereos in their Z but I don't have the feds to make a purchase and still add speakers on top of that. So I waited for a best buy sale and slowly bought a pioneer blu tooth head unit, two 5 1/4 and two 6x9 speakers all under $150.00. I used a fluke meter from work to read wires for constant power and ACC, hooked everything up and boom... all done. Sorry no pics, they are on my phone. but Im using the DATSUNWORKS front panels and 6x9 speaker boxes for the speakers. sounds good, but I think its a little much for my crappy alternator.
  13. Im in the same boat too. its annoying to not know when youre about to run out or always tracking your mileage. Im at the point where I just wanna tear it all apart and install a fuel cell and swap out the sender, pump and gauge while Im at it. something is wrong with my resistance. My 1/2 mark is actually a 1/4 and roughly around 1/4 is empty. so it gets tricky, I almost cut out on the freeway yesterday. thinking of doing the cell conversion but don't want the car down for so long. you cant fix the wires? like solder them or rewire the whole thing with same gauge wiring? that was also an option with me, but I plan on going fuel injected in the distant future anyways
