  1. good point. My car is pretty loud, and I'm starting to hear the pump start to whine consistently now. Guessing that's a sign of inevitable failure.
  2. Hey guys, did some digging but couldn't find an answer, so I'll ask here. I'm running a triple Mikuni setup on my '78 280Z L28, with a stock fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and inline gauge. I'm getting a constant 4psi before the carbs. My question is - is there any downfall or reason not to use the stock 280Z EFI fuel pump with carbs? I did recently buy a Carter, but money is tight and if I don't HAVE to install it, then I'd rather return it while it's still brand new. thanks in advance!
  3. Looking for jets for phh40, need 6 of each Mikuni pump nozzles 0.45 part #N121.033 Mikuni main fuel jets 140 part #N100.604 Thanks in advance!
  4. thanks for all the responses and constructive suggestions guys. The angle turned out not to be as extreme as i thought. we'll see how this works out.
  5. My understanding was that a perfectly straight throttle rod setup is preferred in order to avoid any kind of binding. I'll give mine a shot and see what happens.
  6. Thanks for your response BluDestiny. I did some digging on throttle cables, and yeah, that's something I'd like to stay away from. So like you've mentioned, I guess my best option would be re-locating the throttle rod closer to the centerline of the car on the firewall. I actually used to have a Cannon manifold, but there were lots of linkage pieces missing, so I ended up selling it. thanks again!
  7. First off, I have searched, but haven't found an answer, so here I am. I'm converting my 280z with a stock l28 from EFI to triple side drats. (i realize the topic is questionable and frowned up on by many, but I'm hoping to get some answers regarding the problem i've run into) Right after removing the EFI intake manifold, I threw on the side draft manifold (unknown brand) just to test fit, and noticed that the throttle shaft does not line up with the manifold linkage. my question is, is the throttle rod positioned closer to the center line of the car in 240z's compared to 280z's? Just trying to figure out why the two dont line up and what options I have. I have been considering doing a throttle cable conversion, but would like to avoid that if at all possible. Thanks in advance, and if I did miss a post covering this, I do apologize.
  8. my apologies. will search again. mods please delete the tread.
  9. I picked up a triple setup recently for my future build that came with this intake manifold. The only identifying mark is "1001" between the runners. Any ideas? any help would be greatly appreciated!
  10. Dsalni,

    Thanks!

  12. I'm looking for triple Mikuni or Weber linkage compatible with Cannon manifold. Also, isolators/insulators or gaskets for the carbs, to go between the carbs and the manifold - 40pph. thanks in advance!
  13. a friend of mine emailed that auction to me this morning... i wish he never did. i mean... a G-Nose on THAT?!?!? the end is near...

  16. have you tried Kiyo at http://www.watanabewheel.com/contact.htm ?
  17. yeah that idea did pop into my head. i just wanted to make sure i didnt over-look some stupid mistake i might have made during the install. thanks for the help!
  18. havent been able to find anything by searching. if there's a thread on this topic already, please let me know. i'm running into some problems while trying to insall a rear-facing 240z rear sway bar on my 280z. the reason for this, is because i'm converting the rear drums to disks, and want to make some room for the calipers and brake lines. i installed rear 240z control arms, and when installing the sway bar, i ran into this snag: the sway bar ends seem to reach a little too far forward in car, and create some binding between the swaybar and the a arms. is the 240z setup just not compatible with the 280z? or am i doing something wrong? any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance
  19. whoa, job well done! question about the 240 airdam - did you install a 240z apron under the airdam, or did the airdam bolt right up without any need of an apron? .... did that make any sense??
  20. hello hybridZ, long time reader first time poster in the tech section. i'm currently in the process of lowering my 280z using ground control coilovers w eibach springs and tokico illumina struts. for now, i'll be using the stock spring isolators. now i know that on a 280z the rear isolators are taller than the ones on 240z's, and front ones are the same. my question is, could i use an extra set of front isolators that i have, on the rear of my 280z in order to get some extra drop? i know there's a bearing in the front ones, so that would have to come out, but in theory, would that work? if anyone knows, please chime in. i searched for a bit, and didnt come up with anything that would answer my question. thanks in advance!
