  1. Thanks for the info. Sounds like the t-5 is the way to go. I just want to have a nice middle of the line car. Handling/Power for the track. I'll start looking around. I'm definitely not going over 450HP.
  2. Here is a shot of the car shortly after I bought it. Hope this works:wink:. I'll update photos as I get it more in line, lol.
  3. I am working on my '79 and will eventually be doing the turbo L28 swap and my current 5-speed is in shoddy condition. According to my haynes manual This Transmission is not the BW t-5. 1: Does anyone know what transmission came with the 79 280ZX( it is a Cali Car)?? 2: Which five speed should I be looking at for the turbo set up that is on the way? Thanks for any input. Jason
  4. Well, I'm in. I got my 280Zx about 5 months ago for $500.00 It has carried me to work faithfully since then but I have many aspirations for this car and I want to keep it clean in appearance. It's a '79 coupe from California, and I am battling the previous owners tinkerings as far as wiring goes. I would post some pics but I dont know how to downsize images so that they will fit in the forums limitations. Anyways, there are some really nice S130's here that give me motivation to keep at it. So far I have replaced the stock brakes with drilled/ slotted rotors and rebuilt the calipers. Put in a new MAF, new plugs wires and distributer cap/rotoary clip, new radiator hoses, thermostat and housing, new battery, new clutch/pressure plate had the flywheel turned and have new energy suspension bushings on order. After that I'll got with new shocks and springs. My overall plan is to finish the braking/suspension aspects then go to engine setup and finish off with the looks.
