  1. Hey guys im getting some money soon, my buddy is buying my daily driver and im trying to get back into datsun's. So what im wondering is with 5 grand enough to find a nice rust free swapped s30 with a l28et??????????Or should I build one with that bugdet. I was thinking of going rb25, because I should have almost 10 grand if I wanted to build a z with a rb, this site helps the swap become more reasonably priced.I dont need the wow factor, I just want boost and plus since not to many people my age dont know what a l28et is it has the wow factor.also the sound of the l28et is amazing, I miss my old z. But I was thinking, I dont need to do the rb and waiste all that money.the l28et with head work, hx35, and megasquirt and a manifold would put a smile on my face, till I start iching for more.but im just wondering would 5000-6000 grand be enough for a nice l28et s30.

  2. Im just asking because I have seen people do the hx35 turbo swap and it was more or less at 265hp and thats way under about 90hp what those set ups .im just asking because if I can get 350-400 and reliably and not breaking the bank I might go l28et instead if I can reach them goals.

  3. Depending on how you get the RB you would have a newer engine with more aftermarket support, but you can easily put that all into an L28. Best part about having a turbo L28 is people wondering what it is, then realizing that it's 30yrs old and still competitive.

im with you on that and the sound of those l series motors is the sound amazing.also helps that the l28et was avalable in the u.s.
  4. Hey guys real soon I will be getting a s30 and i wanted to boost it, I just dont know if I wanna go l28et or bite the bullet for a complete rb25 project, I have been doing reseach on this forum for awhile so i have done used the search bar.this site no lie you guys on this forum helps alot making the rb swap a lil more budget friendly.but I dont know what I want to do, I know I want to be turbo. Oh yeah it would not be my first z, I had a 280zx with a mildly built l28e and it wasnt the fastest but had some go.basicly im wondering is going on the effort of doing a l28et, which I know you can get roughly 350hp with some head work and hx35 turbo and etc, or would it be better to go rb25 to get close to that power stock.i also love the way the l28et sound, but rb25 look so nice in the bay of the z.

  5. Baggs are sick my buddy has his frs on baggs and he says it rides great and he drifts the piss out of it and he loves pulling up to a speedbump slammed as ****, its sick when right when you get to it raise it up, lol and then when you park you put the body on the floor.Oh and mix in a fast with a bagged car you get the total package if you ask me.

  6. There's a lot of S30 owners in the Central Florida area like myself

yeah I know orlando has I bigger z culture than down south in miami, I think at the time about 5 years ago I was the only kid with a datsun, most of the kids didnt even know what in was driving.all they like down here is civic, integras, evos, subbies modern stuff.i personlly would only drive and own a crx as my only honda, and kids around here dont like them cause there old or to much of a mission to do swaps for them but yeah.
  7. I'm still here  :icon10:

Probably not getting rid of or leaving the Z world, but I am in the market for my next project.

your z buld will be my insperation forvmy build but I think you should build a 77 celica liftback and put a 1jz in it.then youll have to amazing classics. But if you go a lil modern. I would say a e46 m3, but I rather build a z or a celica lb.
  8. The build thread will be fairly simple till we start speaking motor swaps, well the z car is easier because the make mounts and more kits available but you never know what I find out in the Internet. I want a 1jz in the celica liftback but can't find much info on swaps for it. Oh and I had scars before so it will not be my first z car

  9. Thanks for the advice and I know that already plan on cage and ect on both because im not going to lie I'm eventually going big on both just in time I don't plan selling any of them EVER!!! Long term goal for the z is rb25det swap and for the 76-77 celica liftback a 1jz swap. If I do both it becomes a long term project. I can do either if I decied one project but like I said if i go simple clean and I can get to great classic rides. Ohh I will drive both I'll divide the two betewwn the whole year.
