Looks like a fun build! Im thinking about the 1/2jz route as well. The 2jzge "na-t" caught my eye but after going through multiple junkyards here I'm getting discouraged as I haven't found a single motor or trans... looks like a pretty straight forward swap though. Should make an easy 350-400whp.

Good information here guys! I am very interested in the 2jz swap and the only thing holding me back is the lack of mounts and I don't have the ability to make my own so I would definitely be interested in this kit if the price is reasonable!! Also just out of curiosity what are you guys running for engine management on your 1/2jzs? Just oem or have you guys been going with ms3? Another side note, how many of you have done the 2jzge from the soarer/sc300 then done the na-t route? From my understanding the 2jzge and gte are very similar; the whole bottom end is the exact same and the major differences are just the pistons, head gasket, oil squirters, and the ports on the head. Seems like a pretty easy swap and cheap swap... I bet the junkyards will let those na motors go pretty cheap!

Awesome work man! Where abouts in Iowa are you?? Im from cf and I just picked up a 280z recently and I am planning to go the same route as you but rather with the 4.8l. However I did just find a crashed gto ls2 with 20k miles on it which is very tempting... however I have a lot of body work and restoration work to do before I can start on the motor!

Please start a build thread 240zvette! Or if you already have let me know I am very interested to see all the work done on this as this is the approach I wanted to take towards my z! Thanks for posting the pics and it looks like she's going to be a lot of fun.
