  1. Wow, it looks like there are a lot of different avenues people pursued in obtaining their motor. Again I appreciate all of the feedback and insight. I think I might wait and see if he'll come down on the price, if not I'll stick with the stock L28 motor and enjoy it for another year. I was itching for an engine swap and saw the opportunity arise however I'm in no rush. The motor's rarity is indeed a factor!
  2. Thanks for the reply. I thought it was a bit steep as well, especially considering a wiring harness and ECU would need to be sourced.
  3. Just wanted some input from other folks who have purchased their L28ET motor. A local seller on craigslist listed a 1981 280zx L28ET motor and transmission (automatic) for sale. I contacted the seller and he advised me that their is no ECU and from the pictures no wiring harness either. Miles are unknown, but he said it was pulled from a wrecked 280ZX a few months back, and is in good working condition. His asking price is $1000.00 firm. Just wanted some opinions on his asking price? I don't know if this is too high considering it's missing the ECU and harness. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Hey Gritz, I'm just sitting here at work overlooking your build thread, which has been like my 100th time around lol. Just curious to know if there are any updates. I am very curious as you and timbo's build have been an inspiration for my 240z. I am currently saving up some initial cash to get the project started! Let me know, it seems the Toyota Threads don't get very much attention. Take care! Adam
  5. I remember seeing that posted on craigslist for like 4 months in a row! Congrats and good luck with it
  6. Wow its looking great! Keep it up man. Can't wait to get my L28ET!
  7. Awesome! Yeah i figured it would be simple, I just would hate to crack or even break the window. Thanks!
  8. First and foremost I would like to say thank you in advance for all of your help, support, and input. I have personally read throughout the forums for about two years now, and gathered much of my knowledge and research right here! I'm happy to say that I am finally a proud owner of my very own Datsun Z, and I look forward to nursing her back to good health! I spent a good half of the day searching the forums and the internet for various ways of removing rear windows. Everything is pretty generally stated and honestly i think i can do this with me and a buddy, but I would like to hear if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations? Currently my Car does not have a rear Window, and I was lucky enough to find one at the local 'Pull n' Save.' My skills are that of a novice and I would not consider myself an expert, but I have the mindset to do whatever. So yeah any advice, or even a pointer would be helpful. Thanks! Adam
