  1. Hey Dan, is your car outta paint jail yet???? Jon
  2. Mine is set-up with heavier springs in the rear. But then I have a 302 Ford which is the same weight as a L28. You can probably go with the lighter spring in front concept and have a good general purpose ride. Getting some good adjustable shocks/struts seems like it would be more important. For drag racing a softer front coil will help with weight distribution (right, drag racers???) and it'll be better on the track unless you like understeer. Coilovers will help with a duel purpose car allowing you to adjust corner weight or front-to-back weight distribution. If it were me I'd pick either drag or track and optimize for it. There's always a compromise if you try to do two things and why compromise? But as always, that's just my opinion. Jon
  3. Al, bummer dude! Hey if you decide to get a new longblock I'll have to vouch for the GT-40 with Aluminum heads. I've had ZERO problems. Jon
  4. I installed a Phantom Grip about 6-8months ago??? No problems with the diff, but it's not a replacement for a LSD. Since it's a friction type Lsd I think it wears out... it doesn't hook-up the same way it used to when it was newly installed. FYI I've heard that the Quaife goes open when one wheel is allowed to spin free (like if it leaves the ground or even when wet) and is the reason rally cars use clutch type LSDs. I'm not sure if that's even a bad thing, really. I'm waiting/wanting a Nissan clutch-type diff. (Please Lord send one my way, or let me win the lottery) As far as price, aren't Quaifes around $600? If you can get a Nissan LSD for $750 that's where I'm gonna put my money. My 2 cents bros. Jon
  5. Those wheels (Aluminum Circle Racing Wheels) look like a good track wheel. I bought a steel version of those (diff manufacturer) because I was able to spec a backspacing for 8" wheels to fit under the fenders pretty painlessly. My only regret is the weight I gained. These at twice the price, but still 1/2 the cost of a modular, and 14.5 lbs for a 16x8" seems like a good buy. Does anyone know anything regarding the strength of these wheels? Thanks. Jon
  6. Anyone know the code for putting a signature pic up? [image]http//-url info-[image/] or something like that? I can't get mine to work... Jon
  7. I have about 1/8" clerance from the front of the sump to the crossmember.
