  1. It doesn't help that that wing appears to be mounted on backwards.
  2. Dave, any updates on how the gnose is coming along? Scott
  3. Hey z-REX, I dig the chrome trim on your headlight covers. Are those JDM?
  4. How 'bout "Praise You" by Fatboy Slim?
  5. Looks great! I dig the turn signals in the bumper. too!
  6. Sir daniel, How are you liking those lights? $25 seems a good deal for two lights. Are the front lenses glass or plastic?
  7. Well there's no accounting for Alabama, is there? JK!!! Lots of Georgians don't consider Atlanta the south, we're too "cityfied"! Hey Dan, where and what did you eat that was so good?
  8. Well, some people want to add the amount of sugar they want, hence the unsweet tea.
  9. As a native Georgian, I can say with authority: "y'all" (notice where the the apostrophe goes) is always plural, as in "you all". "All y'all" means either everybody in the group ( "All y'all got arrested? Even Grandma?"), or as an address to a large group ( "All y'all MF'ers in this bar can kiss my..."). Also: Any general reference to a soft drink is "coke" . Not "soda", definitely not "pop". Example: "I'm going to the store. you want anything?" "Get me a coke." "What kind?" "A Mountain Dew will do me." There are two kinds of tea: sweet and unsweet. That's it. All southerners also reference distance by time. Directions also usually include more landmarks than mileage or street names: "Turn left at the first dirt road past the fillin' station." Fully expect any directions from an old timer to include a local history lesson and/or current gossip ( likely to include a recent hospital visit report or obituary). Grin and bear it, 'cause this is the same old timer that's gonna pick your sorry butt up when the Z breaks down on a secluded road. Half the roads in Atlanta have "Peachtree" in their title. This is meant to confuse yankees, especially any that come to burn our city down(again). "Howsyamomandem?" is a word (and a question), as is "Yaeatyet?"
  10. As the officer said: " Nothing to see here, move along" ZG flares and 15x8.5 wheels VERY soon, though...[/img]
  11. Ok figured out the photo thing. These are what I'm talking about. They're not "euro", but that's just my blanket term for such things. If you look at any newer car, this is exactly the kind of light refraction system that's being used: So, I think it would look bitchin' to do like I described above, because it saves the original styling while updating it. As a bonus, there is no fabrication hassle, and no issues with aiming a light assembly designed for another car.
  12. Dang it, I forgot how to post pics..anyway, these are the type of "euro" lights I was talking about: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2480060372&category=33710&sspagename=WDVW If you look close, you'll see that the reflector part is the rear of the lens, not the glass itself, which is simply clear. This is how lights on newer cars are done. This particular one also has the little hat for the bulb, which is also like on new cars.
  13. I think I just had an excellent idea: I've noticed alot of newer car headlights have just a clear unfluted lens, with the refraction handled by mirrorlike chrome pieces inside the assembly. So my thought is to install the standard clear headlight covers that have been around for years, but to paint or actually chrome the inside portion of the bucket so that it's reflective ( chrome tape could also possibly be cut into patterns to accentuate this). Add some cool "euro" style headlights. The combination of the covers, paint/chrome/tape, and the headlights would give a look that retains the original styling, but with a modern flair. What do you guys think?
  14. Cool! I'm glad somebody found that Taurus lighted Z. I'd seen it once a long time ago. I was looking at a new Beetle's lights last night. Definitely has potential!
  15. Looking great! You will sell a ton! Keep us updated.
  16. Well, one thought is that the light pattern would be all screwy, since it's upside down, but who knows, it might work...
  17. Chris, Wanna try the same thing with late model Taurus or Dodge Neon lights? I'd love to see it and I think those lights would compliment the stock buckets...
  18. I've been thinking either late model Taurus or Dodge Neon headlights could be grafted into the stock buckets. Anybody want to try this with photoshop?
  19. I can relate. Back when I was 15, I got the index finger of my left hand caught in the hydraulic rod of a forklift. RIPPED the tip about 3/4 off. Luckily, I was wearing gloves, so I didn't loose the tip, and they were able to sew it back on. It's about 1/4" shorter than the one on the right now.
  20. Be forewarned that 15" tires that are the right width and aspect ratio(50,60, etc.) are NOT easy to find. I have 15x8.5" wheels and finding the right size tire ( in my case 245/35/15) was very frustrating. I prefer the look of 15's, but 16" tires are much easier to find in low aspect ratios.
  21. Thanks, Terry. I'm not so worried about feedback and such. These 245/35/15's are hard to come by, and I don't want them eaten up anytime soon.
  22. It does seem the extra width is biased toward the outside, because the wheels stick out 2 inches past the stock fenderwell, while still maintaining clearance on the inside. The wheels are the Carroll Shelby panasport type, which I'm moderately sure came off a Z with the full Jim Cook California flare kit. Would the offset be stamped on the wheel, or do I just measure it to find out?
  23. I'm gonna be putting 15x8.5" wheels on all four corners of my 260 here soon, with 245/35/15 tires mounted on them. What problems am I gonna run into on the front, in respect to alignment, ball joints, etc.? Should I be anticipating mods to accommodate them? ( BTW, fender and spring clearance is not an issue)
  24. I have some 15x8.5's, and a 235/50 fits really well, and is the smallest the tire places say is recommended. 225 should be doable, but I don't think I'd go below that.
  25. Ahhh, I see what you mean. I just saw one in traffic the other day, and it started me thinking. But I only saw it from the back, so I didn't think about them being square in the arches. Thanks Datsunlover!
