Hey guys!
So I have been looking for a new set of wheels for my S130 and I have my mind set on some Work Equip 03's in a 15x9.5 with a -13 offset. My only problem is finding a tire to fill everything up nicely. I like how the 255/40-17's look on the ZX wrapped on a set of Rota's. I hopped on a tire calculator to find a comparable size in a 15" rim and came up with a 265/50-15.
My only problem now is finding a tire with a good speed rating. Everything I have been able to find has been an S speed rated tire. Keep in mind this is my DD turbo car w/350~whp.
If anyone has any suggestions while I continue to hunt down a decent tire.....please feel free to post them up!
Thanks,
Adam Silver
This is the wheel I want, but my ZX is not set up for a stretched tire like this one.

I'm sorry man....I was at work and was having a bad day.
The L28E motor is notorious for having heat soak problems after the car has sat, after running, for about 5~15 minutes. This heat soak can make the car miss fairly bad until enough liquid gas can make into the cylinders. Also, if your warm up enrichment settings in MS are way off, it can possible cause miss fires. I would not mess with your dwell as it can REALLY mess some stuff up if you get it wrong.
I also have a 240sx TB and it has an adjustment screw(hex head stud w/ an 8mm nut that holds it in place) on the oposite side of the TPS.
And as everyone else has said.....make sure your timing gun agrees with what MS is reading.

96 XP and a 95 750sxi standup
Dam I'm good! But then again I work at a Sea Do dealer.......Let me know if you need anything for that(I am in the parts business/SeaDo/Yamaha/Suzuki/Kawasaki).

Dude.......you have a lot to learn. I recomend you start reading up on MegaSquirt's websites and do a little reaserch on how the system works.
Figure out EXACTLY what equiptment you have on the car and EXACTLY what problems need to be addressed.

Low compression High boost small displacement
Short stroke small displacement V8 or long stroke large displacement V8?
-
Is that a 95 Sea~Do XP?
-
Becuase that underpowered little RC car engine you have under the hood couldnt even break the tires loose
-
My s30 gets sideways pretty easy
Doubt it......

When you say normal to slightly rich under boost, what numbers are you seeing?
-
I have my plugs gapped at .028. Maybe you are blowing out the spark and the rich unburnt mixture is causing your O2 sensor to read lean. Gap your plugs down more and see what happens.

I took my cruise out a long time ago. When I got the car, it never worked. It ended up being the rubber bump stop for the switch on the cluch pedal had falled out......found that out after my engine swap.
-
I was helping my buddy with his FC because he was losing boost. It ended up being a tear in a coupler. It would seal itself when not under boost......talk about a PITA to diagnose. You could hear it under boost, but not any other time.

I am running a large intercooler and a GT30 T3/T4 running 15psi with the air filter mounted on the face of the turbo. My IAT sensor is mounted just before the TB. My IAT's usually run about 15~20* above outside air temps on hot summer days. I have seen 8~10* above on cold winters(35~40* days). Those numbers were before I wrapped my exhaust manifold. I wrapped it after I recently put the motor back together, I'll post my results after I get my car back from paint.

Paul......you know what I meant. But I'm really more concerned about going the speed limit as I drive around town. But I will let you know how things end up.

Just to let you guys know, the 4.25" tach and speedo's just came out from Speedhut......the day after I purchased my 4" guages
. Needless to say, they would make a much better fit for the S130's than the 4" does.

One thing to note about GPS speed. Â Unless the GPS unit has a built in correction for descent and ascent angle, the speed will only be accurate when you are on level ground. Â Boats are obviously always on level paths. Â Hills cause significant error on the GPS speed readings.
Sine Cosine Tangent.
The Speehut Revolution GPS speedo does have a feature where it tells you your altitude. I wonder if it has a correction factor incorporated with the altimeter. I will do some tests if I ever get my car back.
-
Same here, I'll let you know my opinions on it. I have talked to the guy at SpeedHut a couple times and he tells me the GPS speedo is his favorite product they sell.
-
What spark plugs are you running and what are they gapped to?
-
Yeah, it looks really nice with the back support painted black, it almost fills in the gap. I am very pleased with the outcome, although the speedo ended up a little higher than center.
-
As I promised, here are the final results.
-
I got it without the turn signals because my stock cluster has them built into the overlay.

The GPS Speedo has an antenna that recieves a signal from a satalite. It works just like a Tom Tom speedometer. It also tells altitude, direction, 1/4 mile, 60 ft. and a few others. It really is pretty cool. The tach also has a 5 LED progrssive shift light.
Need suggestions on tires!

I just wish they made that wheel in a 16". I really want to keep the classic jap look though. I may just be forced to back to the Rotas.
