  1. Thanks. I was thinking of using a 650. There is always the chance of future mods but using a 700-750 with my current setup would hurt me in what way? Bad throttle response?
  2. Hey Grumpy I have been reading your carb suggestions. I used the holley carb selector from your link and they suggest a 600, 650, or 700 cfm with mech secondarys. You argee with this and what CFM? My setup is a 350 .060 over around 9.5 compression vortec heads with 1.5 rockers comp 270H cam edelbrock performer rpm air gap 6spd manual trans and 3.90 rear end. Thanks Brian

  6. I found this magazine article in "Hot Rod". http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/body/hrdp_0707_1962_ford_falcon_budget_paint_job/index.html It caught my eye because they painted a car using 2 quarts of Rustoleum with a roller! Sounds good pluses are no overspray, easy masking, easy to touch up and cheap. But tons of sanding and limited colors. They said it wasnt show car quality but better then the cheap "one day" paint shops. I think it would be perfect for a daily driver/track car. Just thought I would share. Heres where Hot Rod got the idea from. http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2331682&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1 Heres a pic of a Charger that a guy painted using this method. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d13/69martin/DSC02769.jpg
  7. Thanks I didnt realize it was made in China. I guess I should have known by the price.
  8. I'm looking for a good decently priced harmonic balancer that will work with a 400hp sbc. My local napa said they could get me one of these for aorund 60 bucks. Is it a good brand? I have never heard of them. Anyone have experience with them? http://www.professional-products.com/dampersProductSBchevy.php Thanks Brian
  9. I know about the self aligning thing but noticed that there are vortec heads available with guide plates. But I read one of the articles you sent and liked their setup. They used vortec heads with self aligning roller tip rockers with stock valve covers. That answers my question. But now I have a new one. What rocker ratio 1.5 or 1.6?
  10. What mods are you talking about? I know about the different things needed for vortec heads but will stock steel center bolts valve covers fit with roller rockers? If I get the vortec heads modified for guide plates then I dont need to run self aligning "vortec" rockers correct? Its good to know my planning is headed in the right direction. Heres the to heads I'm considering. They all ready have the threaded studs, guide plates and high lift mod. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D151124&N=700+4294925232+4294838998+400304+115&autoview=sku http://www.sdparts.com/product/SD8060AGP2/SBChevroletVortecCylinderHeadMachinedforGuidePlatesw0525Springs.aspx http://www.sdparts.com/product/SD8060RAAG/UpgradedVortecHeadKitRollerEdelbrockPerformerRPMAirGap.aspx Thanks
