  1. You would be surprised at what we get away with in the jeeps without breaking it all comes down to being easy on the throttle.
  2. So I have been stuck at home all this week with a hand injury and Im bored. I surfed most of Hybrid and pretty much built my Z in my head with all the info. So lets see some of your other toys and things that cost you too much money. Dont Ask! Heres mine!!!
  3. Heres some pictures of the front end. Fresh out of the car. Cleaned, welds redone, and painted. Sectioned Struts with Tokico cartridges and coilover kit from Beta. Thanks Johnc Cleaned and painted hubs with new studs, races, bearings and seals. Also new rotors and Toyota calipers.

  5. Once I removed the rusty pass. side front fender and saw surface rust I decided to pull the rest to the body work off to see what I could find. I picked up a good used fender from Johnc at Beta and had it mediablasted and epoxy primered. It looks good. Damn might as well do the WHOLE CAR! Here I go what am I getting myself into!
  6. RUST!! but fixable! Starting the repair process. Ive finished repairing the rear I will post a pic soon.

  9. Thats good. I could hear you leaving my house and probably half way to your house. Hey if your not in school tomorrow my buddie will be at my house with his 550hp mitsu.
  10. The msa kit wasnt that bad. At least it was longer then needed and could be trimmed down to size. I have learned that there are very few true "bolt-on kits" for anything automotive. They always seem to need some type of trimming or tweaking to be some what close to fitting right. In my opinion if you have the skills and tools to make it yourself or the money to pay for custom work DO IT and avoid the bolt-on kits. You will avoid headaches and having to live with something that looks "good enough".
  11. There are other companys that make wide vents I just couldnt find the link. I will search thru my jeep mags.
  12. In the jeep world (my other money pit) we use these. http://www.genright.com/category.aspx?categoryID=117
  13. I have seen a few around but they are all missing the vent grills. There was 280Z at the Beach Blvd yard but dont remember what condition the hood was in.
  14. Yup its a 4 spider gear diff. Thanks
  15. Theres 2 Pick-ur-parts in Stanton/Anahiem area. Theres a Ecology in Santa Fe Springs, 2 Ecology yards in Fontana/Rialto area. And 2 Pick-a-parts off the 60 in Ontario area. You looking for something?
  16. OK so I went to the junkyard today and Im walking down the aisles when I come across a 300ZX. I pop the hood and find that it is a 87 and a turbo so Im thinking CLSD jackpot! I crawl under it and it has 4 bolt turbo cv's so thats good. I pull the cover and it looks clean and without a flashlight I can see 4 spider gears but no clutch discs. I have never seen a 300zxt CLSD in person so Im thinking maybe the clutch discs are behind the spider gear and this has to be one because its a 87 300ZXT. I pull it from the car and hold one cv and try to turn the other I cant so again I think its a CLSD. So I buy it and bring it home and noticed it doesnt look like the other CLSD's on hybrid. So I go back to the garage stand on one cv and turn the other with both hands and it pops free and starts spinning. DAMN its a OPEN DIFF! So heres my plan now. I'm going to run the R200 from the 280ZXT I already have but I'm going to install the 300ZXT CV's in it. I'm going to stay with the 280ZXT diff because I want the 3.54 gear ratio and then I will install a aftermarket LSD in it. Anyone see any issues with this setup? Thanks and it looks like I will have a 300zxt open R200 for sale.
  17. Thanks Im 6'4" and about 200lbs. A friend found a set on a local craigslist. They look similar to yours but not exact. Seller says they are from this company. http://www.nrginnovations.com/ But no specs on there website. Do they sit low in the car? Thanks again Brian
  18. Hey Dave. Nice seats do you know who makes them? Are you tall? Just wondering how they would fit me being 6'4". Thanks Brian
  19. Thanks for the link. Has anyone here used the Quiet Ride stuff?
  20. Hammer on the steering knuckle and penetrating oil worked for me.
  21. I got one with new poly bushings if you still need one.
  22. If 350Z seats fit so well what about G35's? Or are they all bulk and electrical like the 350Z touring seats?
  23. I read it somewhere here. I believe Grumpyvette recommend it.
  24. Where did you get your wiring diagrams from? Chilton or Haynes? I have a 73 factory manual it seems ok but looking for more. Thanks for the heads up on Autowire.
  25. I was told that actual armor-all is bad because is contains alcohol and it will dry it out more. Might would to look into that.
