I ran a JB welded BOV flange for about a year.. untill I bought a welder...
No problems at all.
-
unless you compete VERY competitively.. 4 pounds wont make a difference..
Your body weight will vary weight up to 5 pounds depending on hydration and food and waste levels. Also 1 gallon of gas = 6 pounds...
so fill up 1 gallon less in fuel to compensate =)
-
This is what you need..
EGT guage for EACH cylinder.
-
aluminized exhaust??
-
saaweeett!
Kevin, if and when you develop this plenum.. put me up for the first to buy it and test it and give dyno numbers =)
No joke. Im serious.

looks superb!

Kevin,
your actually considering producing a plenum like you posted?! Holy crap that would be freakn amazing. Spill out more details!
-
if you see his new thread with the new cage in.. i think he ditched this idea
-
yeh tell us about the paint and the gun?!
interesting paint scheme! have you considered tinted headlight covers?! might go well with your scheme
*edit* actually lookn back.. maybe not lol

i still love the turbo'd Z better =)
but that sure is a purrty Z !
-
your elbow is fine.. just weld up a downpipe..
as for the intake... just buy or fab a 90 degree elbow and connect it with a v-band! (or cut off the vband lip and use a silicone coupler)
The turbo is still bolt on.. but with any new turbo it will require fabrication!!
-
this might be wayy out there.. but how about an intake front fire?! not a backfire.. but a front fire..
Ive noticed this sometimes on start ups on cold days.. small little intake pops and my boost gauge flutters.. Ive fixed this by adding more fuel and allowing proper warm up

Please correct me if I'm wrong.. but it seems that having a wider tire and a narrower rim will give you an excellent launch and straight line performance.
while having narrower tires and wider rims reacts better in the turns for road racing..
soo from what i'm understanding..
Wide tires/Narrow rims = drag car
Narrow tires/Wide rims = road race
Is that about right?!
-
Interesting..
Thanks Jon!

the spark maps posted on Moby's sticky are excellent...
great map for starting off.
Ive been running virtually the same spark map for years now.. just been adjusting fuel
-
OneSickZ..
the answer is yes...
Airplanes can build frost on the wings and control surfaces at colder temps, close dewpoint spread and visible moisture..
the frost acts like sandpaper on the wing surface and creates TONS of drag and reduces lift on the aircraft.. in addition to weight.
Mud and dirt stuck on the surface of a car will increase skin friction and drag.

SHO Z .. thats crazy you have a MET degree at MSCD!!
Im currently going to MSCD for aerospace.. and my minor is MET! small world!
-
WHY direct injection?!?!
the fuel needs to atomize with the air for a better combustion and efficiency!
Why do formula one engines have stand off injectors BEFORE the velocity stacks?! not for awe factor!
Just sounds like a stupid idea

i do love my cf bre hatch lip..
check out my putfile for pics
