  1. Hello, As you can tell I am new to the forum. But I also have that derided disease. It keep me longing for more in both perfectionism and money. I will begin my first conversion within the month of October. 2002 LS1/T56 into a 1971 Z car, I am in the process of my research and very much enjoy a "Job well done" therefore your photo caught my eye. Thus far this forum has been very time consuming, confusing, and entertaining. I will do my best to keep updates once I begin in earnest. By the way, thanks for the compliment, Old Man.
  2. Hey thanks for the information. Do you know whay category you searched, I am unable to locate.
  3. Hey Grenade 300, I noticed that you had used a fuel cell with your conversion. Was this a Summit Racing unit? What model? Also you mentioned a EZ Wire harness kit. Can you provide a little direction there also. Thanks for all the help you have already provided.
  4. Well now I like that approach. Overkill is always better then the "Do Overs" Great job.
  5. Hello, I am looking for the JCI LS1 and T 56 conversion mounts. I am looking for a good deal before I order from John's Car. Hopefully someone out there purchased these items and changed their minds about the conversion. You never know till you ask. Thanks to all.
  6. Thank you for the information. I will give Rebello's a call after this weekend.
  7. Hello,, Looking to have my P79 head machined. I need a quality machine shop in the Sacramento area.
  8. Well, just to keep things updated, since my first inquiry about rims I have completely changed the entire Suspension and Brakes, converting to Coil overs, all new Energy Suspension, Five Lug and Disk Brakes. I now sit at 5x4.5, and the search have begun a new. By the way, what a pain to replace the rear control arm bushings.
  9. You are correct. This engine swap is mainly concentrated within the early Z car. At present Johnscars offers nothing for the ZX cars as far as the LS1 conversion.
  10. One of the best sources of information is Johnscar.com. Once you are there, click on the link "broken kitty" This will take you to your site selection. Click on the Z car and then Ls1 conversion. Enjoy it is great reading!!!
  11. Since my research has begun in earnest, To spend $500.00 per wheel is pretty much average. You can buy less expensive wheels, but as for myself I am a perfectionist, and I totally agree that the wheels make the car. I do not have unlimited cash flow for this project, yet I realize that the wrong wheels will detract from the overall appearance of the car, and I cannot afford that!!!
  12. Hello All, Thank you very much for the information. Yes, that was a very long journey through that link, but I did see some great wheels. Also, thank you for the proper offset and size, that is a big help.
  13. Hello All, My 73' 240z project is nearing completion, the ZG flares look fantastic. My question is this: To all that have the ZG flares installed, which wheels are you running? I would prefer not to use spacers. I am looking to run 17" rims, if you could provide a source, website, brand, or anything that will help I would appreciate it. Thanks.
