  1. I'm in Fayetteville, NC lol Fort Bragg.. not Arkansas hahaha
  2. Well, I spent most of the last few months doing anything but working on the car. Finally got back at it, did the drivers framerail, floor pan, bad-dog rail & now going to finish up the pan patch work for the areas meeting to the firewall. Sucks I had to cut some of the lower curve out, but its all good. Engine & Trans are mock-bolted together and I'm hoping to get started on the motor mounts next week. Trans crosmember is going to be a different animal, but I think I can make that one myself also. Since Fritts is currently out of the explorer diff game, that will be a me-fab too. I saw on facebook this week a different style mount which incorperated the mustache bar in with the mount to the dog-legs and it was all in one. Seems simple enough. Will be working on that in the coming weeks. I spent a lot of time OFF the car, so now I'm back in full swing gear to get it done. Essentially that the pans are done, the interior is"done" for mods other than the 4pt which I can still have the dash installed for. I've decided to go with custom seat mounts so that is adjustable to my liking as well. Photos will come as I get a chance this week, possibly tonight. Engine updates: Short block is assembled, just needing a few parts to get the cam installed, and covers on.. then to pick new heads, and it'll be done. Lastly, suspension is still in the air, but definitely going with a fully adjusatble double wisbone setup and some sort of tubular crosmember. S10 hubs and a mustang II rack will finish me off for the front end and hope I can find room for all my accessories!
  3. I got my F-Body pan from Rock Auto for like 140 shipped!
  4. So are you doing A2W intercooler? IMO, air temp is more important than coolant temp.
  5. I'm going to be in the same boat soon. Mishimoto makes a 2 row replacement but that's out of the question on v8 setups IMO. eBay champion 3 row is probably the route im taking with aluminum shrouding and fan. I'll have an intercooler in front, and potentially AC condenser, so I'll probably be making an air duct.
  6. I also am doing the paddle shifters from TCI on a 4l60e. Going to take it easy until a 80e is in budget. But, you guys should look into built transmissions lol When built and tuned.. Ive had shifts quicker than i can move my hand back from the shifter..
  7. My reply didn't show.. I have seen his kit, attempting to buy pieces. I'll be making some components on my own. It's in the works, but not high on my current concern list. Ripping/replacing the driver rail, ordering some sheet, prepping the trunk for sealing of spare tire well, camaro gas tank hanging, trans tunnel work, then the rear. I'm still going to collect parts as I come across them though. Currently needing to sell my Precision turbo lol
  8. Idk lol I edited that post like 3 times, I'm guessing it didn't save the last time? I'll repost it from my phone later. Buying a TIG so I can do cooler things. lol Just added you on FB btw. R230... not worth the time/money.. I have a buddy with CNC Access.. after looking at another swap, Explorer 8.8 it is. The gear selection alone is worth it.
  9. Digging up from the grave.. Considering this swap in the 240z. Located a Diff, definitely will let TTT do the axles.. Mount should be made or also purchased from TTT Mustache Bar from TTT Thats it? I know they make nice other parts.. but funds will be going to other things for now. S13 swap may be best bet. But its so wide, it makes it look horrible without wide body or something lol
  10. Stayed in Atlanta all weekend, but working nights this week. Hopefully will get some stuff done!
  11. Make your own mounts brother.. JCI does an awesome kit, but lots of space can be saved by making your own! Last I talked to Hoke, he was saying 1000-1200 a set...
  12. No worries brother! Now I just need center to center, front to rear wheel lol
  13. Awesome. so in theory.. 54.25" WMS to WMS Front 53.95 WMS to WMS Rear. My new front suspension is 59" WMS to WMS giving me 2.375" wider track on both sides. With zero offset wheels I'd be sitting 3.375" wider than stock.. so a decent positive offset, camber and my MSA flares should get me close. Probably shouldve bought wide flares lol P.S. I see this info is 280z, i'm assuming 71 240 is the same..
  14. I was under the impression that tread and track were the same thing. Track is middle of contact patch to middle of contact patch. Assuming that its nearly the entire tire width, no mater the width, the middle is the middle. Thats how I read it anyway. If i still had stock suspension, i'd measure it lol
  15. Just curious on how that was working out. my front suspension parts have me at59" WMS to WMS.. Dont have a hard figure yet, I'm thinking its 55 factory.
  16. yeah, hes an awesome dude. We talk almost on a daily basis about something or another. Very helpful lol
  17. thanks! Typo.. meant 53.5 and 53... but i see its .3. I'd like WMS to WMS since thats the dimensions I have off the new suspension.
  18. So, Ive searched high and low and only found one thread with answers.. It seems that the s30 Rear WMS to WMS is 55" What is the front dimension? While I know I could potentially just make whatever I want since I'm tube framing, but I'm trying to make certain components work and mock up where I should be. Is the front also 55"? The track with I found was 53.5 front and 55 rear. I'm looking at front WMS to WMS measurements of 59" right now. I could shorten, but not exaclty wanting to. I think this is going to call for some ugly high positive offset wheels. ):
  19. What is your WMS to WMS measurement?
  20. I'm not sure that I'm following what your asking.. searching for normal practices to follow? I think the ball is in you court to decide which you prefer. If the vintage air unit is like the one youve diagramed and is electronically controlled, I dont see a problem in using it. Heatercore radient heat will possibly affect your interior temp since the core is in the same unit.. but, you control the temperature in the car. Its not an auto setting or creating more of a load if its hot in the car. So, i'd run with what youve got pictured IMO. sorry if i'm still not on the same track with you.
