  1. They were available with A/C from early on, I have VIN 8215 and it has air (build date 8/70). In these cars the A/C was a dealer option. I concur with the others, look into Vintage Air I have heard very good things about them. You may also want to check Motorsport Auto (aka: MSA) and Courtesy Nissan out of Dallas, both of these places sell an A/C kit for the early Z cars.
  2. Or use VLC as many of us have already stated in this thread that it works great.
  3. What motor that was sold on eBay? Can you post a link please?
  4. Thank you everyone!!!! I was able to download the entire file and it does play with VLC!!! Have it playing right now! Also, thank you for the pdf!! Does anyone have any more info on Wangan Midnight that they can share? I'm suddenly facinated by this!!!!!
  5. Ya willing to share the pdf? Can you at least post a link to it please?
  6. Can you tell me some details aobut the SX tranny swap please? What SX is it from? What are the gear ratios? Why is this a better tranny than any of the Z 5-speeds?
  7. Where do you get coper spray? Is there a specific brand or name I should be looking for?
  8. '70 to '73 was the 240Z '74 was the 260Z '75 to '78 was the 280Z So yes when he said '70 to '78 he really did mean any Z model during that time (except the 2+2 as stated). Keep an eye on eBay if you can't find one as they show up on there every couple weeks or so.
  9. That's not too bad...mine are 120, 120, 120, 40, 120, 120 Pour just a little bit of oil in the cyl through the spark plug hole then do the compression test on that cyl again. If it jumps up quite a bit then the rings are bad in that cyl...this is my problem. To "help" this you can run 'motor honey' in with the oil which will help to seal it up a bit but this is only a temporary helper...or a bandaid if you will. The engine will still have to be rebuilt. Please do not use this technique to sell the car without telling the new owner the true condition of the engine! That's just plain deceptive and may come back to bite you.
  10. I am still seeking before and after pix if anyone has some...
  11. That looks manufactured. Do you have a part number and store it came from? If you made that one it looks great!! Wanna make a few more?
  12. I thought that there were some threads that discussed this and had pix of the damage as well as the solutions to fix/prevent this (i.e. boxing in the framerail at the mounting location and running the mounting bolt all the way through from top to bottom). However, I can not locate this information and more importantly I could not find any pix! Can anyone please help?
  13. Have you done this? I'd love to see some pix and know where you got the parts.
  14. Here Comes Trouble, Can you tell me more about your rubber mounts please? I need to do this same kind of mounting but do not know where to begin.
  15. Then why does this site have a Nissan L6 forum? Let the guy alone while he's figuring out what he wants to do and kill the negative attitude towards new people...everyone was new to this at one time.
  16. You might be just as well off having Rabello build you the engine and have the complete engine shipped to you. I have no idea what that would cost but if you could hook up with an importer or someone like that you may be able to get some discount rates on the shipping.
  17. I'm just shocked it is so much...I know that these are kinda heavy but they are not all that large. Just amazing how much shipping can cost.
  18. I may have just located another one this morning...will keep you informed.
  19. Yes, I never intended to imply that you would not see one...they do come up frequently enough but it is still a rare part. If you keep watching you WILL find one...eventually; I did. Personally I always thought the price of this part was a bit high (but that's simple supply and demand, economics 101)...we are talking used and it's NOT a performance part, it's just a stock crank from a Maxima. We just happen to have found a way to use it to build a larger, better performing engine. A performance part would be if this were custom forged or something. $400 just for shipping? Holy crap!! I never would have expected that... I hope this guy has deep pockets for this part or is able to source one locally for his sake.
