  1. Thanks, just looked at Enkei. Their pricing is good but they don't have a style I'm looking for. So far, the nearest thing that I can find, in a size that fits is the Rays Work TE37v. The only downside to these is they don't have the split rim design I'm looking for.
  2. It just clicked, are you the same Nisssmo510 that was asking me about my oil pan on Instagram?
  3. Yeah I have 5 lug but I want 17s. That's the smallest wheel that will fit over my brakes and I don't want to go any bigger really. Thanks for the offer but I'm based in the UK
  4. @Chris Duncan, yeah I agree. It's a shame as it's another one of their wheels which they only do in two sizes - neither of which are suitable for me
  5. Thanks dude, just trying to share what I learn throughout my build. I bought them from a company called Ike Engineering here in the UK but they're readily available, I'm sure you could find them in the States if you look online. Here are the ones I bought. I expect if you contact them they'll post them to the States but I'd be surprised if you could buy them over there.
  6. Hmm... some good guesses there, I think they could be those Meister S1s? It's really frustrating because the wheels I really want are Work Meister CR01s but Work wheels seem to only make each model in select, odd sizes. I need a 17 inch wheel and the largest the CR01s come in is a 16. The smallest size they do in the S1 is 18! Anyone got any suggestions for similar wheel that's available in 17 inch?
  7. I've been trying to find some wheels for my 240z and like the look of the ones fitted to the car pictured. Can anyone help me identify them? Thanks
  8. When I was looking for oil pan options for my RB26 install, I spent quite a while looking for reviews of the CX Racing oil pan. I couldn't find anyone who had anything to say about the product, but had found that a lot of people were similarly looking for reviews. I bought one recently so thought I'd share a review of it as this was something I'd been looking for myself. If you can't be bothered to sit though the full length of me waffling through the video, then I wrote a shorter blog post on it here. Hopefully it will answer some of the questions I've seen people asking about this oil pan. Edit: In the video above I mention about further inspection of the oil pickup, you can see it here:
  9. Hi guys, haven't checked in to HybridZ for a bit (mainly because I've been doing my camber plates too!) so missed this when it was originally posted. I'm sure other people will find the thread useful as I know I searched for similar ones before I started mine. I documented how I did mine in case it's of any interest to anyone. I'm not suggesting it's the right way or the wrong way, I just documented what I did in case it helps anyone learn from my mistakes. I included pics/video to try and make it easier to see what I was doing. Here's how I did the fronts Here's how I did the rears.
  10. Sorry, image didn't attach the first time.
  11. Hey guys, I've just started the process of installing my rear weld in camber plates and have come across these plates on the turrets. They look like they're from the factory so my plan is just to cut the appropriate hole and fit the camber plate as usual. I just wanted to check that they're not some sort of repair plate which has been added in the past. Just thought that if that were the case it might be better to remove them. Car is a 71, US spec 240. Anyone know if this is what stock turrets look like? Thanks!
  12. Hi guys, I'm having some difficulty finding a comprehensive answer to RB swap/fuel pump solutions. My question is, what fuel pump setups are people running with RB26 instals? I've read some people stating they're using Bosche 044's or other external fuel pumps but I've not found much information on the rest of their setup. My main question is, are people using the Skyline fuel pump control regulator, and just wiring up an external pump to that? I've read other posts on this forum from people saying they'd read of others experiencing fuel pressure problems when using the likes of 044s but I've not actually come across these posts myself yet. My secondary question is, is anyone taking any anti-surge measures or not? Thanks in advance.
  13. That looks really nice! I was actually looking at fabricating something similar but that could be a viable alternative instead. Just need to work out whether or not it will clear two top mount turbos.
  14. I've been thinking of making a CF center console for a while and was looking around for anyone else who was sharing the things they'd learned from doing it themselves. I cam across this thread, have read through it all, am totally impressed. I doubt I could do anywhere near as good a job as this so I'd be interested in a console and a clamshell (when the clams become available), would you ship to the UK?
  15. Does anyone have a drawing or dimensions for an oil pan suitable for an RB26 -> 240z install? I was about to remove my oil pan and offer the engine up to the car to work everything out and make my own drawing but it occurred to me that probably other people may have already done this and I know quite a few people have made their own oil pans for the same application. If anyone has a drawing for a suitable oil pan I could work from it will save me having to repeat this process myself. I know there are plenty of manufacturers in the US who sell these oil pans off the shelf but I'm based in the UK and it's actually more cost effective (due to shipping & duties) to have one custom made than to import one. Thanks in advance!
  16. I couldn't find an answer on this anywhere so decided just to cut the pads off and try it myself. I thought I'd post here again in case anyone else comes across the same problem. If you cut the pads off, the dash will fit OK. Here's how I did mine.
  17. Edit: Just an update in case anyone else has a similar question. I went back to the seller and he assures me that the one he sold me is from a 240. He's a nice guy and I have no reason to believe otherwise, he even offered to buy it back. I guess then it's possible that the larger item was also used on some later cars.
  18. I recently bought a second hand RHD pedal assembly for my 240z. The seller assured me it was from a 240z. I've just removed the pedal assembly from my 71 LHD 240z and it looks completely different. The one I've removed from the car is about 30mm shorter than the replacement one, it's narrower, and it has four holes where it bolts to the dash. The replacement item is larger in general, and also only has two holes where it would bolt to the dash. I'm wondering if this is from a later 240z than mine? I've been looking on Google images and there are search results for 280z pedal assemblies which look closer to the replacement one I have? The item on the left is the original LHD unit, the one on the right is the replacement RHD item. Any help would be much appreciated.
  19. Ha! It seems suspiciously easy! Thanks again for the advice, it's taken me so long to find that info Not to shift the focus of this thread but I've seen that you've provided a lot of useful assistance on this forum, I don't suppose you happen to know the answer to the other question that's currently troubling me by any chance? http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/95882-240z-dash-frame-differences-and-swap/ Thanks also for that info flatrate, no doubt it could have caught me out!
  20. RB26powered74zcar, thank you! I've been trying to find an answer to that question for ages, really appreciate your help.
  21. I know this thread is old but does anyone know if the two different dashes can be swapped over? I've just run into the exact same problem. The dashboard I've just removed from my car doesn't have the mounting pads described above but the replacement one does. It looks like I should be able to just cut the pads off and everything will be OK. Before I do that, does anyone know if this works? Thanks
  22. Thanks RB26powered74zcar. I'm in the UK so there are RB25 boxes reasonably readily available over here. OK, so basically then for an RB26 install in an S30, the push type is the best option. However, the pull type gearboxes come with better internals. So am I correct in thinking that a pull type which has been converted to push type would be the best way to go, the second best option is just to get a push type? Thanks again.
  23. I'm looking for an RB25 box for my RB26 install. Is there any advantage to either the push or pull type for this application? Thanks
