  1. Hybridz has tons of great info on the ls1, and a lot of the info can be used on the s13/s14 chassis. You can also check out http://www.silviaV8.com. It's a small forum I run, but lot's of knowledgeable guys on the board.
  2. I bought my rolling evo chassis for not much more than that in 07 never mind 2017. I don't buy cars for investment, I buy them to have fun building and running them. I never said I don't love my 240z. I think you guys are missing my point. I am a car guy and wouldn't even say at the end of the day it's still a honda. If that is what you are into building it's cool with me.
  3. ^I run silviav8.com and the guy who owns that car is on there. Also the guy I bought my evo 9 engine from, sold it to put an ls1 in it. I have had every part of an evo apart and I can tell you the build quality is very good. Stock they come with aluminum body panels, (10) forged aluminum suspension arms and brembo brakes. Interior is nice, don't expect lux, but to me lux is gay. I like gt3 type interior. At the end of the day an evo can be made to go around a track, up a hill, or down the strip quicker than most cars out there for not much money. Plus it has a full back seat and trunk. The only thing I hate about the evo is the looks, but I don't buy a performance car for anything more than performance. I love the ls1 engine, sh1t I have a forum dedicated to putting it in a 240sx. Have had one in a fc, will have one in my s13 and if I had enough money I would have one in my s30. I hate that "at the end of the day" thinking. Everyone sinking v8's, big money, time, and blood sweat and tears into there s30 must be crazy then. Cause at the end of the day, it's still a datsun.
  4. ^Hell yeah!!! Don't under estimate the evo. They can be built to run high 9's. The car I am building is for road racing and hill climbs, not into drag but it will run high 10's.
  5. Thanks! So 51mm = 2.0094 The 2" ID tubing should work great then, may just need to grind a little. What do you guys suggest 1/4" or 3/16" thick tubing?
  6. For a 1973 240z, what is the OD of the strut tubes? I am installing coilovers and need to buy some metal tubing to weld to the tubing so the threaded sleeve can sit on it. I am thinking about getting some 2" ID tubing. BTW how thick tubing should I go with? I was thinking 1/4" but maybe 3/16... The car is at my old mans shop 1hr away that's why I can't measure this myself. Thanks!
  7. Awesome thanks John! Anyone know what the other cars have?
  8. Does anyone know or can measure the hub bore F&R for the: 240z Rota RB wheels fit. 260z ? 280z ? 280zx ? Trying to figure out if the rota wheels will fit. Please use a caliper if you can, I am trying to get a correct number. Pete S if I recall has a 280z and posted it was approx. 2.875" 2.875 = 73.024999999 The wheels are 73 just to get an idea why I need an exact number. Also is the front and rear the same on these cars. I have a 240z but it's up at my old man's shop 45min away and don't plan on going up there for awhile. Thanks guys!
  9. Does anyone know what aftermarket ball joints come with castle nuts instead of nylocks? Thanks
  10. Nice!! I like them in black. I hope they come out with 16x8 16x9 on the cheap but I doubt it.
