  1. Hello, I am looking for a trans shifter to use in my 1970 240z, the previous owner put a 5 speed in and cut the trans tunnel and Console. from what I have read, I will have to cut and bend\weld a shifter to get it to work. also looking for a 70-71 console. Thanks Chris
  2. I am looking for a 72-73 center console, Complete if possible. As good as shape as possible.
  3. Looking for a clean 72-73 Manual transmission center console.
  4. I am looking for a complete 72-73 center console with choke cable.
  5. First thing i checked was pulling the choke off while running,When I turned the choke off, vacuume would go to zero. and engine would die. in messing with the carbs it runs without the choke now. also confirmed the firing order is correct. at 1300 rpm there is about 10 inches of vacuum.if I turn the Idle screw down the vacuum will drop and the car will die. to check the fuel pressure, is that at crank or running? have not checked the float levels yet.
  6. no on the manifold coolant, strange compression numbers?, 1=90, 2= 113, 3=120, 4=140, 5=100, 6=118.
  7. I have tripple checked the cam timing, set and rechecked the valve lash, Timing is at 17 deg per book, checked for Vacuum leaks, still need to check compression.
  8. I have a 71 240 I am restoring. Engine was reringed, new bearings, etc. I bought the carbs from Ztherepy. The issue I am having is the car will only start and run with the choke on. At about 1300 rpm. if I try to bring the choke down even after the car warms up, it will die. I sent the carbs back to Ztherepy, Steve said he ran them and they were Ok. I am stuck at this point. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris
  9. Yes I have been looking into 4x108 to 4x114.3 wheel adapters. I have seen a few cars with these rims but no info on the setup. I have heard some people basing adapters and a few saying they have used them for drifting with no issue. This car will be a weekend driver. Anyone have an opinion on the coins of wheel adapters or what's needed for this setup?
  10. 280z4me2, Did you end up going with the Cobra R wheels. I want to go with these and have been trying to find out the specifics but nothing usefull yet.
  11. I tried the dealer, No longer available. looked for 240s in junk yards. No luck. the bearing idea sounds interesting, Although I am just looking to get this operation. I have spent the last two years restoring. Unfortunatly those were the two pieces I have lost.
  12. Still looking. I did find out they probably have to come from a 240 as ones from a 280 and 280zx did not fit. Anyone?
  13. I am still looking. I'll pm my address let me know how you want me to pay. Paypal?
  14. I am looking for the clevis pin and clip for the brake pedal to booster and clutch pedal to slave cylinder. or if anyone might know their sizes. they are for a 71- 240. Chris
  15. I swapped axels and then companion flanges. the problem followed the axle, I confirmed both spacers are the same and marked the same. I would assume this rules out the inner bearing since that stay in the hub since that didnt move. the only thing I didnt check is the axle lenth itself but I would think they have to be the same.
  16. They were both marked with the same letter. they both had brass shims also.
  17. the axle on the other side does stick out farther past the end of the companion flange. there is supposed to be flat washers before the nut correct?
  18. no, your right it is an axel issue.
  19. OK, dissasembled, Confirmed the bearing were seated against edges as far as the would go. retorqued to 180 and now looks like this. still not as far in as the other side.
  20. I am reassembling the rear suspention, I have torqued the nuts to 180 pounds, one of the nuts sits farther one the shaft then the other. I thought I remembered them sitting farther in on the shaft. Does this seem right or could it be when they pressed the bearing they went in crooked?
  21. I am looking for 1 of these from 70 240Z door. Nissan calls it a collar-Bell Crank(80515-E4100) for the inside handle rod to open the door. Not sure if all years of Z's used this exact part of if they changed it. as there is 3 part numbers for this in the parts manual. Chris
