  1. well, i changed the tps bak to the tvs. mad sure it was position correctly also. but still notting. i'll have to change all my wiring tomorro and see wat that does?
  2. hummmm, but i've heard of people using the 240 tps. And a friend of mine used it also. and it seems to work fine. Im kinda on a conclusion that im not gettin enuff fuel. i spray carb cleaner into my intake when the car begun to stall and it brought the rpms bak up. So, since i've tried changin out these parts. I'm starting to think my wiring needs to be fixed. i might have bad connections and my fuel pump isnt gettin enuff power. is that possible? Oh, and wat do u mean by adjusting the tb a little more open?
  3. ok, so i tried to swap the fuel pump. still no luck. I guess i have to try n swap the wireing harness n check the altenator. Who has done The 60mm tb swap? Help me out here. Maybe im running to lean my friend thinks. It also back fires out the intake when the car begins to stall.
  4. ok, so i've tried to plug the air regulator back on. no luck. I've also jus installed the jsk fuel rail. I guess its helped a bit. i can actually have the car running for maybe 1 min tops. then it begins to die out after like 30secs. So wat do u guys think? altenator? fuel pump? those are the only things i can think of right now.
  5. hummm, i thought it was only for warm up purposes. for the fast idle. i'll have to check my fuel lines, filters n injectors then i'll try that.
  6. Ok, so i jus swapped a 77 motor into my 78 shell. Im using the 78 ecu. I also have a 240sx 60mm tb with the 240sx tps. I never touched it. i pluged everything back where it supposed to be. Now when i start up the car. I can rev it up a bit for maybe a few seconds then it'll begin to stall and if i try to give it gas, the rev's drop and car tries to stall n when i let off the gas, the revs may come bak up a bit then it'll jus stall most of the time. wat is going on here? can anyone help me figure this out? Oh yeah, i also removed the air regulator
  7. i jus decided to go ahead and use my original manifold. i have a block off plate on the egr and i am using a 60mm tb. i was port matching today and took off a little too much. now theres a small hole. its ok. i put some jb weld on it and im goin to smooth it all out when it dries. its on the bottom side so u cant see it. Whats a good was to polish the inside of the runners. to smooth it out? slightly port n polish it.
  8. Ok. Im in the prosess of port matchin my intake manifold and was lookin at the runner inner diameters on my 280z's manifold. My friend has a 83 280zx and we've had his intake off b4. He compared it to a different manifold (not sure wat car it came from, maybe a maxima?) and his manifold had larger runners. Im not exactly sure of it but i tink it does. So i compared mine to the other manifold and it was the same size. So my question is basicly, does the 280zx intake manifold have larger bore runners than the one on my 77 280z? And another question is, does anyone know if it would be better to use the 280zx manifold because it has a different design? which design is better?
  9. Does anybody know if i have to use a custom drive shaft, Or can i use my 280 drive shaft?

  12. Well. Im glade i found my car and its still in one piece. But the bad part is i had to pay 215 to get it bak and the ignition is messed up. My doors lock is messed up. They broke my center console and the plastic around the climate control. And the stole my stereo. Im so pissed off but happy to have her back in one piece. The car was found in daily city and was towed to pacifica because its an older car. But thanks for lookin out for me guys!
  13. Help me out guys. I live in Oakland CA. My 78 280z has just been stolen right before i got home from work! Its white and has no bumpers. Has a front air dam. It has damge on the driver door and rear fender. It has black mesh wheels on the back and gold mesh on the front.
  14. i have a 280z and i tink i cut 2 coils from the front and 2 1/4 from the bak Cant quite remeber but im pretty sure it was. the ride isn't very different besides the fact that my shocks are really bad. So if u have good shocks than u wouldnt have too bad of a ride.
  15. but wat if i use coilovers wit longer springs? wouldint that raise it bak up. I want my car lower than stock anyway. about 1 to 1.5 in
  16. I was wondering if 240 or 260 strut housing with coilovers on a 78 280z give me more suspension travel. Or is my only choice to shorten my original strut housings and go wit some other type of inserts? If yes, then which years should i get the strut housing from?
