  2. I have an aeromotive A1000-6 FPR and a jsk fuel rail. My fuel pressure drops when i rev the engine. Is that supposed to happen? I also jus changed the pump to a higher flow bosch pump and it still does the same thing? ( pump flows 50gph which is about 190lph and 100 max psi ) whats stock pressure supposed to be? this if for a 78 280z.

  4. Ok, i installed a cranecams XR3000 ignition kit and now my stock tach doesnt really work. has anyone else had this problem? anyway. to my question. Are the indash speedo and tachs the 5in ones? and wat about the volt/fuel and water guage sizes? Looking to get autometer guages.
  5. Ok, so i know for a fact that the rear mounts on the 280 is definatly bigger that the 240 one. but when i looked at the fronts. they looked exactly the same. so your sayin that even tho they look the same. the 240 one will actually give me a lower height on the front?

  7. ok.... Im kinda on a budget rite now. and in need of a new fuel pump. so heres my question... Is a 100 max psi 50gph (approximately 190lph) fuel pump is enought for 300rwhp? Im goin to be using it on my NA setup for now but plan on puttin it to use with my turbo setup once i get my hands on a turbo motor for a good price.
  8. Wonder if anyones heard of it? I noe its made for heavy duty automatic turks. but can i use it in my tranny or lsd diff if i mix in solution wiht a thicker weight gear oil? has anyone every tried it? its supposed to help creat more friction so things work better. not sure about using it in the tranny but diffenately wanna try it in my LSD for my cressida.
  9. u used the extra spring from the stock tb with the bracket. but i had to buy a longer bolt to make it fit. u can always add springs to make it as stiff as u want it to be.
  10. kool..thanks. My tach worked fine untill i installed the xr3000 so it most likely is that problem.
  11. any one having problems with not enuff fuel flow from the stock pump, or are u guys running after market pumps. Wat kinda flow rate is the stock pump any way?
  12. I installed a crane cam xr3000 on my 280 and now my tach doesnt work rite. its doesnt read untill i get it up to high rpms... How do i make the tach work on the system?
  13. i've drifted my z b4 and it was on dry pavement. i had no problems. exept i had way too much toe out and would under steer sometimes...thats when the ebrake comes into play...hahhaha. my 280 has plenty power to drift. it countersteers pretty easily also.

  16. well, i've been having problems since i got my car running. i"ve also installed a jsk fuel rail. jus wondering if any of u guys are having n e problems with urs? my car is running extremely rich and its fouling my plugs wit fuel. Wat kinda set up are u guys running? ie: FPR, fuel pump, or even management.
  17. so my problem is solved. it was the most simple thing. It was the oil pressure switch. Now i have another problem. Didnt have this problem untill i changed my injector clips/plugs. Now it seems to run really rich. It runs rough and a lot of smoke. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator? wat do u guys think? It seems that when i run the car, then unplug the fuel pump for a few secs, it starts to run smooth. So i continuiously tap the fule pump and the car ran jus fine.
  18. ok, so im hoping i've solved my own problem, too late to know for sure. Its either my oil pressure sending unit or the 2nd fuel pump relay. which one do u guys thinks its more than likelly to be?
  19. anyone noe my problem. i seem to think its my fuel pump. somehow im not gettin enuff fuel to keep the car running. it'll run untill theres not enuff presure in the fuel rail to feed the injectors. Its like the rpm goes down as if im running out of fuel. like if i was giving it gas, the rpms jus slowly fall and then the car jus stalls. could it be my relays? or could it be a wiring problem.
  20. i tink its a wiring issue... cuzz i wired the pump up to a power converter. it stayed on longer but pump wasnt pumping consistantly i guess, and the car started to run rough. i'll have to try n swap the entire front harness and see wat it will do. if not, then maybe even swap the interior harness. =T
  21. ok, so i figured out wat ur talkin bout. its not exactly a adjustment screw. but it controls the amount the throttle plate stays open. Thanks for the help. but my problem doesnt have to do with the idle.
  22. so is it capped off or something? cuzz i've never noticed it. i'll have to go check out my friends tb. well, even then, it shouldnt be the idel causing my car not to be able to stay running. It stalls even when i open the throttle. and thats where i figured it was a fuel problem. i had my friend spray carb cleaner in the intake everytime i began to stall, while i was on the gas.
  23. there is no idel adjustment screw on the tb. the 240sx tb doesnt have an idle adjustment screw. i noe wat an idle adjustment screw is. i used to always adjust my idle with the stock tb. apperently the 240sx is a tps( throttle position sensor, and the 280z has a tvs(throttle valve switch). The 280zx's have tps. mine is a 77 and the one on my 78's motor is the same. its a tvs. If u plugged the vaccum port on the tb, where did u run the vaccum for the vaccum advance and the carbon canister? because thats where it goes with the stock tb.
  24. no longer have an idle adjustment screw on the tb. And even when im steppin on the gas, keepin the revs up, it starts to stall. and when i spray something like carb cleaner into the intake. the rpms come bak up. so it has to be a fuel problem. Im kinda thinkin that i might have bad wiring causing my fuel pump to not get enuff power to push enuff fuel to build enuff pressure. I'll be getting a new Fuel pressure regulator soon. Anybody with experience with the 60mm tb swaps can help out here? wat did u guys do? everything worked b4 i pulled the motor from one car and put it in the other. i've swap fuel pump. change fuel rail, checked my injectors. I've removed the cold start injector n air regulator. and also installed a 60mm tb from the 240. Now using the tvs from my 280 tb. i've tried putting the air regulator bak on. but no luck.
