  1. Issue has been resolved. It was what I thought. I had cut the shaft at the wrong angle. Went back to the JY and pulled another. This time I parked it and then made the cuts. Works great.
  2. Just finished the wiper upgrade. It functions and parks as it should with this exception. Wiper at the bottom of the windshield I turn them on, the wipers come up (as they should) but on the down stroke it runs past the bottom of the w/s onto the cowl, comes up I turn off the switch and they park at the bottom where they should. In order to eliminate the over run on the bottom I have to position the wiper arm about 4" up from the bottom. Any suggestions. Could it be that I cut the motor arm threads at the incorrect clock position?
  3. Thanks for the input. I thought it was something I should avoid. I'll look for the plugs its a much better option. Thanks
  4. Switching out noisy pump. I have braided fuel line with AN fittings. I don't feel like draining the tank so my question is can I clamp off the line from the tank as I normally would with rubber fuel hose. I did test clamping of a spare piece of braided line and I couldn't see that any damage was done to the inner lining. The clamping did disform the ss braiding but I was able to reshape it. Any one done this. Thanks
  5. Looking for the cargo area left rear speaker plastic panel for 73 240z. Thanks
  6. As the title says. If anyone knows of one let me know, mdevane4@comcast.net . Thanks
  7. has not set their status

  8. Changing out struts in my 77 and discovered that the springs were different sizes. One is 14.5" and the other 15". Looks like on might have had one coil cut (see pic). Disregard the compressors they aren't on tight. I have never noticed any difference in height from on side to the other. Will this cause any problems if I don't replace the shorter one? Thanks
  9. I remember back in 1967, when I was in tech school being told to go get a "roll of flight line". Asked everywhere but never could find any
  10. As I'm sure all of you do when you get the big jobs done you start on the small ones. I've been wanting to replace the window molding seals on my 77 280z because the felt on the inside of the rubber weather seal has worn off in some places. The chrome exterior is in great shape and I didn't want to pay $50 each that BD charges. I found a 3/4" felt tape that I thought I would try. Turns out it worked great, see pics. Took me about 15 minutes per window to remove to old felt and apply the new. I used a putty knife to carefully scrap off the felt, cleaned the rubber with denatured alcohol and then carefully apply the tape. The tape (of course) has an adhesive back that holds extremely well. One of my concerns was that the tape might be too thick, its not. It 38 mils thick which just a hair over 1/32". If anyone wants to do this I have the tape. I had to buy a roll of 65', way more than I need. I'll sell you enough to do both windows for $3 plus shipping, which shouldn't be too much as there hardly any weight.
  11. I think I finally got the attachment to work. I need the elbow that #1 and #3 are attached to and also #2 and the hose (#3) attached to #2. Thanks for your help
  12. I have the hose but I need the elbow with the branch and item 2as depicted in attachment. Thanks
  13. I hope my attachment can be viewed. I'm looking for the drivers side air duct for a 77 280Z. Specifically numbers 1, 2, and 3 on attachment. Thanks ~$Doc1.doc
  14. Looking for the little plastic cover that fits between the Fuel Light and Seat belt light on a 77 280Z console. Thanks
  15. I am contemplating replacing my 77 280z fuel pump. Car runs good with the exception of a miss or after fire. Fuel pressure sits at 26psi. I have changed the fpr but no change in pressure. I have clamped off both the supply and return lines and the results point towards a leaking relief valve in the fuel pump. I don't feel like shelling out $300/$400 for an OEM pump so I have been looking at aftermarket pumps. But I can't determine if they have a relief valve. Any help would be appreciated.
  16. Check your Aux Air Regulator, it may be struck.
  17. I have a 77 280z that I want to replace the existing R180 with a R200 out of a 81ZX. I have searched and read every post on converting but most of them are aimed at converting the 240z rears. My question is simple. Can I use my existing half shafts, mustache bar, link mounting brace, and front mount to make this switch? If not than what would I need? Thanks for your input.
  18. Just ordered some parts today and his prices were the best I could find anywhere for what I needed. Very professional and extremely helpful. Take a look.
  19. I just purchased a set of 73 bumpers that I want to install on my 78 280Z. I came across a pair of brackets from Z Car Customs and want to know if anyone has used them. They look like they would do the job. Thanks
  20. I have found a 76 280Z that has been in storage for the past 29 years. The second owner purchased it from the first and has put 4000 miles on it since buying it. It now has 33000 miles. There is no rust and the paint looks in excellent shape. He wants $6500 for the car. Would like you views. It would need a new interior and I'm sure a bushing kit. Thanks for your input.
  21. Looking for a clean to very clean 71-73 240Z or NLT 77 280Z. Can be bone stock or modified. I am located in Delaware. Looking for something within 200 300 miles. Car needs to be drivable as I don't have a trailer. Thanks
