  1. Wow...good thing you got to it before everything let loose in there.
  2. I had the motor out on mine as well and I let it hang on the line for a week and when I tried it again it worked much better...like the air had come up out of it which is just stupid that these things are so hard to bleed. I have bled many other slave cylinders ONCE! and they worked perfect. Dont get it. Glad you found your solution.
  3. I'm not sure who makes it but the master is marked 3/4, and I am using a 1990 Iroc Z aluminum slave. It was originally set up with the same master and a camaro plastic slave, but that was old and the "bleed screw" was rusty and wrecked the threads. That system worked great before I pulled the motor out to do some work, and it still has the pedal stop on the floor.
  4. I get barely enough clutch dis engagement to roll the car in gear with the clutch pedal depressed. I'm not sure how much travel is correct, but let me know if this looks right. http://media.putfile.com/clutch-fork It looks like it moves quite a bit to me, and I am wondering if I may have put the clutch disk in backwards. I have done 15+ clutch jobs in my life and never put one in wrong...I guess there is a first time for everything though.
  5. Thanks Pete...that gives me a couple new things to try. I went out and blew some money on an aluminum slave with an actual bleeder nipple, and a "quick disconnect" by mcleod so I wouldnt have to tap a plastic slave, and a new SS hose. It was pretty disappointing to have it act the same way after all of that. Its really frustrating to have something this simple be so hard. I have never had so much trouble with a clutch hydraulic system.
  6. Hey I was just using the search button so I didnt get yelled at
  7. What is the "re-working" of the slave cylinder?
  8. I would pull it off and take a look...whatever it is isnt going to fix itself and you might prevent damage by getting it off asap... those trannys are pretty easy to drop
  9. I was thinking the same thing. I am going to pull the motor out with the tranny. I do have some clean up I could do like you said...It will really be worth it to be able to see and work without being under the car so everything is done right. Thanks for the advice.
  10. I was looking under my 280Z that has a SBC 350 with a T-5 tranny. I have the JTR type set up which has the HEI dizzy right up against the firewall. The tranny is a non W/C 5 speed. I want to relpace the clutch, but it doesnt look like the tranny can move back much more than a couple inches, wich I'm not sure if that is enough to get it off the shaft. Will it come off without pulling the motor?
  11. Where could I find one of these emblems and a photo of one on a rear hatch?
  12. Hey SleeperZ, Are you still in Colorado? Shoot me an e-mail. Jim
  13. I thought that I had seen it before...not really sure what model had it and where it went. Any help is appreciated.

How did you get your rims to look so nice?Jim
  15. Hey Daniel, This is Jim from the ZCCC...I had the silver 260Z. We were out at 2nd creek a few times. So what track are you going out onto? I am trying to find a good deal on suspension for the 280Z I bought (350 V8 ).

  17. My next question is where should the sense wire hook into the electrical system?
  18. As far as I know the sense wire is supposed to detect load on the electrical system....so I think it must be there to tell the alternator when to up the voltage...so I think it needs to be hooked up to something. My understanding is that if the sense wire is hooked to the positive lead on the alternator that it will never sense a load and the rest of the car will suffer from under voltage as load is applied...anyone care to enlighten me http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=106432
  19. Can anyone tell me where the field wire or "sense" wire should go to within the car( 78' 280Z )? Right now it is going right to the positive terminal on the alternator...so I dont think it is able to sense any load that gets put onto the system. The alternator is a AC Delco 10SI or 12SI ...the motor is a 350 with a edelbrock 4bbl carb...it has the HEI dizzy.
