  2. YES! I had the GO Bots 280z or maybe it was a 260 who cars they rocked Solid metal and they didnt rust!! just to small for me to get in lol..

     

    Wasnt there a 280 named "Burnout" but yeah My uncle is the voice of Octomus Prime after I believe 1986 and now currently beasties transformers/Reboot/Voice of Heman!! and so many others GARY CHALK

     

    hes got all the toys in their original box's in his sound room LOL all the 280z's sitting there rust free forever lol like all ours should be in a garage never moved.. YEAH RIGHT!!!!

  3. hmm odd I kinda sorta have the same issue. At 40oC up here in canada so about what 100oF if Im running hard and then pull in for a slurpee and go to start It wont start the first try but it will the second try. SOrta seems like all fuel goes back to tank even if I let the fuel pump pump till it stops it makes no difference. No start 1st try but starts with second shot soooo not to sure but sounds kinda the same... mines moded to but has always done it. With the 1981.5 Stock ecu and with my newer 300zxt 1987 ECU

  4. OK yes to Turbo. For now I will fabricate a Manifold that will have a FLange mount on each side to mount turbo's with EASE! But have them plugged off for now until I can afford such turbos LOL.

     

    Anyhow I got to the wrcker and found some more pathfinders, removed the dsitributor assembly, clutch fan (no electric yet student budget lol) and Lower plenum off the pathy 1995 which has wider recesses for the injectors (the stubby type).

     

    As per comments I wont use the stock VGTT Z32 ones for leak issues.

     

    I ALSO FOUND! hehe (hidden in my toolbox I swear I dont know how it got there!!) a Jaguar 4.0L inline six Fuel rail and injectors. I figure if the stock model was 325HP then these should be somewhere in the 400cc range so Perfect for my 280zxt =-) Sooo tonight will be test night for those injectors MUHAHAHA

     

    has anyone noticed how nice and clean a Jag Six is wow the Exhaust Manifold cover is Chrome and squarish so nice and the intakes roll in like Ram horns with a Center mounted TB that is friggin like 80mm LOL yes people its time to adapt Jag shat to Z's LOL well at least the exhaust cover LOL

  5. So As I have torn down my z31 I have aquired some upgrades known to many including the 1995 Pathfinder tall intake witht he nice long runners intot he Plenum. I also took the injectors all 6 for $21 bucks haha But then I found my old Z32TT injectors at 370cc now they look inbetween Stock Z31 inectors at they have the Caps that stick out. The pathfinder 1995 ones dont have the Nipple thingy. So im thinking Ill need the 95 Plenum of the lower intake to HEAD cause its recesses match the Z32 gaskets/grommets W.E. lol. So off to the wrecker to get the distributor (assembly) the lower intake plenum, maybe the heads? 10 years newer lol

     

    Anyone know if theres a valve size difference on the Pathy Heads? bigger? Smaller? I see horsepower is about same as Stock z31 as the engines identical except I think theres more Cooling ports on the block and head of the Pathy VG30E isnt there? will that affect head gasket or since heads wont have holes to block I guess no coolant would go in those holes right plus the gasket would block off those holes.. ANyone tried head swaps? Just msg as I can see msg's on my phone as I spend a good 5 hours out there today collecting free bolts and such haha

     

    OH ALSO!! Are the ECU's the same? or is there better fuel Mapping on the Pathy? ANyone anyone?

  6. ok So here's an easy way to determine your issue.

     

    First: you say it sounds like a noise from transmission.

    Test: when you get to 60mph put it in neutral (dose it go away? is shaking still there?)

    If so then you might have thrown a driveshaft weight (rusted off) or the Ujoints are going

     

    Second: if the above did not solve shaking Check front wheel bearing play. There should be a little movement as these type of bearings expand with heat and tighten up normally but when cold they are semi loose (im talking barely lose)

     

    Thrid: check lower ball joint is it moving back and forth when you grip tire and wiggle.

     

    Fourth: inspect tie rod ends are they bleeding out grease and cracked boots?

     

    Lastly: have a tire shop check the tires. Perhaps the alignment has been out long enough to cause Shoulder wear

    Also if the front suspension was badly worn *IE bouncing up and down for awhile before you replaced* you could have tire cupping which would vibrate violently at almost all speeds but mainly low to mid.

     

    thats all I got for now (I do alot of alignments & drivetrain so I have seen almost all of it including wreches stuck in things hammers in frames ect ect)

     

    OH YEAH also do you hammer hard ont he brakes? maybe your brake rotors are warpped enough to cause imbalance while driving But this would be felt in wheel to when braking as a shudder from left to right..

  7. Well here goes.. I know im a good pipe bender and Exhaust welder as I did alot of em in the various shops I have worked in. I know my welding and cutting are good so...

     

    Since these few things came to light while tearing down my Z31 motor..

    I figure this Z Called to me and since it was lucky twice I'll make her into a Z31 Devil Z (Twin Turbo)

     

    Soo.... Ill keep adding pics of the custom Exhaust manifold as I mock and build and weld it up.

    Going to make it Fit the Stock Turbos for ease of install lol =-)

  8. yeah most were auto.

    I have an Auto running a 300zxt Manual ECU and dont notice anything really so. Couldnt help ya there. I know the bellhousing bolts the same as I have a 5speed manual as well the only thing I would imgaine would be different would be the Vacuum line that goes to the Auto transmission.

     

    other than that it all looks the same and I have taken parts from my 5sped and they fit perfect on the auto

  9. So I have been looking into Megasquirt for both my Z's To solve some issues and to get some more bang for my buck.

     

    Who's got these sytems installed already and how well are they working for you and Who did you buy yours from. I have seen DIYimport tuners.com and places liek that selling for $249 ish and it seems like a good price for a build it kit. I have enough knowledge to build one with instructions.

     

    I was looking to get more of the newer updated models so Opinions and veiws.

     

    People who have the 300ZX Z31's and 280zxt's please or modified ECU 280zxt (Z31T ECU)

     

    Also MSD coils and stuff whats the part numbers you got running on yours..

  10. Yep I removed those and ran my hand everywhere through the multitude of gunk and dirt and cannot find anymore bolts LOL. I figure its fused on my some sort of Z-Force. So I am heading to the store to buy 10,000Watts of Light power to not only see but to melt the bastard off!!

  11. I have 2 S130's Love em. Love the 240's the 260's and Now I aquired my Z31 and it was great to feel the ride difference from my S130 to a Z31. So comfty. Felt more stable. Plus its a flying Wedge how can you not like that and have you seen the body kits for em. Some are amazingly nice..

     

    Then theres the Z32, Shall I say more.... Beautiful...

     

    350Z Well kinda buggy but at least they made up for that with the 370Z

    370 Z pretty neat kinda old school meets new school moreso than the 350z

     

    Now ALL NISSAN NEEDS TO DO (DO YOU HEAR ME NISSAN!!!) is make some inbetweens for us Average Joes!

     

    Like:

    290Z (Turbo , just shy of 300hp small fun and cheap liike $18,000 just two seats and a shell and a engine)

    320Z ( Twin turbo big brother of the 290z maybe add bucket rear seats $24,000)

    250Z (Kinda liek a sentra but looks like the old Z's Non turbo ooh kinda like a 240Sx with more gogo)

     

    Oh and without all the crap we dont Need and fully upgradable So we can tune them =-) Oh and did I mention ROOM TO FIT YOUR FRIGGIN HANDS!!! yes ty =-)

  12. So im tearing down my VG30E, To clean up the Cams, the valve covers are going to be painted ec ect. Now I cant take the drivers side valve cover off as its getting stuck on the AC mount now I have read some people hit it with a Hammer but I dont want to damage the Cover so I also want to lose the unneeded weight of that chuck or Iron so am I missing a bolt somewhere for the Mount cause I cant seem to free it lol. Cant see any other bolts cant feel any other bolts.. It could be that I am always working on my Z from 12AM to 3am and my brains tired lol . Anyone know if there is something behind the timing cover backing plate?

  13. I was going to say since you completely rebuilt Motor maybe there was an Air pocket in the engine somewhere causing thre coolant to not flow properly, Or bad thermostat. I have had plenty of bad thermostats BRAND NEW and swapped in my stock old one and it cools perfect soooooooo.. power flush that bad boy and get her going rev as you fill and pump those hoses force that air out!

  14. Yeah do what I'm doing for now. Or turbo it with Stock stuff way cheaper and it bolts on without much effort. Headers is what I was thinking if I do a NA project, but then I would recommend the Pathfinder Intake Manifold and 240sx throttle body as it will flow way more air (dont forget to port match the Intake manifold to the larger Throttle body) and increase your exhaust size oh also remove air box restrictor (resonator) and put cone filter. With that you should gain possibly 25hp's. Makes a good enough difference. Might be able to find some Lighter after market rims to and then hey you'll be sailing =-)

  15. Yeah thats more my Experiment for Now. Basically its so damn Dusty and dirty in there I just wanted to Clean here up Give her a Bit better Airflow and then DD her to school and Back in Sept as a Cheaper Gas runner than my Modified 280zxt which I'm still tackeling Vacuum issues. Not sure if its the O2 not reading good enough or what only happens at full Stop and then I go to gas I get Over Rich black smoke then suddenly Bang tons of power but normal RPMS as I dirve are fine sooo.. Running the 1987 300zxt ECU Manual ECU on a AUTOMATIC trans so not sure if thats the issue either. Tried several TPS, Changed Distributor positions, switched Coils, odd ball...

     

    Not to much concern as of yet other than shes a Gas pig So waiting for another O2 Cause my last one got fouled hard. Could be a crappy injector I suppose but no money for that expensive crap yet LOL.

     

    buuut yeah went off on a rant. Just want a Basic Z31 for now to DD HAH! *Aquires Parts to make it a Mucho Z soon*

  16. Aww poor Z. She's telling you something is wrong with her.. Just follow her belches and moans. Make sure AFM (Air Flow Meter) is moving freely, Open TB (Throttle Body), Remove Intake to Turbo and make sure The turbo is not Seized (spray cleaner lie carb clean in there then vacuum Excess out givve the Compressor side by wastegate a couple taps (lightly) with a hammer and try with your finger to move the Turbine, remove ECU connectors and check for loose connector pins, clean battery Posts, Check the Fusable Links (little black box beside Battery), Check Relays in engine bay, check to hear if you hear Fuel pump working when you turn ignition to ON position (not RUN), Timing should be fine if never touched, HIT THE DASH HARD liek the Mellenium Falcon (Worked for Han Solo and my old Pulsar =-) ), ummmm Replace Fuel Filter for sure, if your able to remove injector Rail and soak in cleaner , hmmmm Mainly yeah Check major connections and then Clean her out FLush oil and give her a Go that should do her. Even my old 280zx Ran after being parked for 2 years on stail Gas not well but good enough to move her around hehe

  17. well I do have a Z32 Manual so your saying that fits MAG58. Then I could drop that it I suppose just need clutch plate flywheel master and slave cylinders and the list continues LOL I just cant wait to get her running with new Manifold and a few other tweaks to see how much gain it gives ona N/A till I get all the parts to make it Turbo lol Gawd these things are so Modable once you get in there Such fun Such fun!
