  1. So the Automatic Turbo Flywheel will be 240mm then correct?

    So the 225mm Clutch Bolts right to 240mm Flywheel? no weirdness? or do I need to get the 240mm Clutch.

     

    Im Dumb n the head right now so.

     

    the 225mm I have now will i have to take the flywheel off the one Z (5speed) or can I leave the 240mm on the Turbo and run the 225mm Clutch

    So As all know. I have installed the 300zxt ECU in my 1981 Turbo 280zxt

     

    Mods List:

     

    1987 300zxt Turbo Ported (also wastegate hole)

    1987 300zxt ECU

    3 Pin O2 sensor conversion (Altrom part number 25000301 fits stock 280zxt downpipe thread)

    60mm Throttle body with custom Cable linkage

    Ported IntakeManifold *32.5mm to Head*

    Ported Head intake *32.5mm*

    1986 Maxima 60mm MAF (6pin)

    Adjusted Distributor ignition timing

    1987 300zx Injector pigtails

    1986 300zx TPS

    3" Pipe from downpipe to rear

    Magnaflow Performance Exhaust 3" inlet 3" outlet

    Replaced Fuel filter with 300zxtt Z32 filter

    Increased Fuel line size by a tad

    Stock Fuel rail *so far*

    FMIC (coming in mail)

    Adjustable FPR set to 42PSI

    Removed all Vacuums not needed (ie. automatic climate control, VCM, Cruise control unit)

    Egr plugged

    ACC plugged

    Coldstart gone

     

    So now the Clutch Question. I have some good power under the hood so far now. What I am doing is using my Stock T5 BorgW 1981 280zx N/A tranny with the 225mm Clutch & Flywheel this weekend. So how much can will that stock one take. Cause im prolly in the low 200's in HP as my compression is excellent. Thus I was thinking of just getting a Really stiff beefy 225mm ACT clutch kit with the Fidanza Aluminum flywheel in the next few months. So when I reach a Higher HP rating say 350hp that should be fine to use correct?

     

    Cause I figure I should be able to use the Stock N/A clutch for now and just not ride her to hard while going to school and save up for the Act/Fidanza stuff later with new Injectors and Fuelpump yes?...

  3. Im actually doing the Same thing this weekend. So can I not use the 225mm Flywheel from my Stock N/A 280zx and Clutch and put it in my 280ZXT or are you guys saying you can run the 240mm Flywheel with a 225mm Clutch?

     

    Cause I was thinking later id just get a Super Stiff Ass ACT 225mm Clutch Kit with the 225mm Fidanza flywheel aluminum and that should take the HP shouldnt it? Im only gonna run Max 350hp in future as Im prolly only about 230hp Now at about 10PSI Boost I would imagine.... Cause I still need to install my FMIC Up the boost to about 13psi and Get Larger Injectors

  4. Dude, same thing happened to me but at McDonalds.. drive through guy was like nice Porsche and I almost slapped him.

     

    I am so addicted to cars I fall asleep to my Ferrari and/or my F1 track sounds playlist on my Ipod. My girlfriend also left me (morally) because of my Z. :flamedevi Hey, when you need a new motor it takes priority, its her fault for getting slutty while I was trying to get my daily driver Z back on the streets. :icon44:

     

    LOL Well at least today Even without Front fenders or Bumper a STARBUCKS GUY of all people was like... Is that a Datsun :mrgreen:

     

    and also My FPR came in at its 2am here and what do I do.. watch some 240z vids on youtube drool and go out in the cold and install my FPR set it to 43psi and take her for a cruise lol.. Me my Z and the Starzzzz

  5. I dont care what anyone says about the Dyno Numbers on this Car.. It sounds F$*king Awesome!!!!! Almost liek my friggin CBR 900RR Honda Fireblade - about 3000rpm LOL But shiat man you can clearly see power past red line as the car even breaks loose on occasion in that Vid at like 6000rpm

  6. LOL. I think the Fact Girls at first glance say at a Pub think its a Porsche or something deffinately helps the addiction because when you get numbers and get Some lovin because of your Z it makes the two addictions so...well... Addictive =-)

     

    But then when you never call them back Cause your tuning, upgrading, or broke because of your Z well... its all good because hey... you cant tell me you dont like the feel of that old shaky bastard Ripping down the road time and time and time again watching those deep dished guages climb and drop, the old school orange glow of the lights turning on, that OK computer thingy in the middle of your dash (if you got a 280zx hehe) the fact it always seems to start and run even if somethings totally f*$ked, the fact I ran 135km on a toasted alternator to safety lol, that sound of the Inline 6, that engine rev, that cute little back end it has, the reverse rising Hood, those shitty wiper blades that never really work good =-), the fact she makes you touch her in all the right places at least once a month (ie rust,oil leak, soemthing of that nature) or the great search for parts liek indiana jones in the wreckers of doom!. I see those poor poor Z's who had such bad owners, the sadness in their grills their tearing deep set eyes saying, Please save a part of me!!!

     

    Ah my heart goes out to those poor Z's I wish I could buy them all make them new again. Cause in the end they always come through for you. Those Baby Z's Ah I love my Z its the most Frusteratingly Fun Car I have ever Owned. One day I hope Nissan makes some more of em. New but the Same Liek the Charger. Screw the Sentra RELEASE THE Z's Basic Platforms improved engine management, suspension and most of all Rust Protection =-) Bring back my lovely Ladies!

  7. oh its a Miricle lol.. It's liek that Old horse you see on the farm walking around, while the younger horse kinda jumps around and dose crazy wild stuff. Then that old horse kinda walks near a couple flowers and ZAP!! Bee Sting!!! and that Old F*%ker Gets up and friggin goes insane LOL.... Well maybe not Insane but deffinately grumpy LOL some dude in a accord was peeling around after he passed by as I was turning to go his direction thought he was all fast. Saw my no front fenders Z So I was going the same way... waited for the double lane heared his little honda engine that could try try try and all he heared was the sound of a Jet passing by into the setting sun =-)

    Ported Head (intake only 32.5mm)

    Ported Intake Manifold *to head 32.5mm to TB 65mm*

    60mm TB *Customed Cable throttle and no need for Spacer, flipped upsidedown so TPS is on inside closes to manifold*

    Stock J-Pipe till my FMIC arrives

    Ported turbo *300zxt with water coolant lines, Mod'd to fit stock 280zxt downpipe (longer bolts through compressor)*

    Ported Wasgate just a bit but used stock 280zxt Actuator

    300zxt Injector pigtails

    Maxima MAF *6 pin*

    Removed all Automatic climate control VCM's & VCM modules & Cruise control

    Removed AC & pump

    Removed Powersteering belt for now.

    3" Straight pipe exhaust no Cat to rear end 3"Magnaflow performance exhaust

    Found a 3Pin O2 sensor that fits stock 280zxt Bungholio!

    Soon swapping my 5-speed BorgW from my N/A 280zx

    300zxt 1987 ECU swap

  9. Yeah originally grew up in Vancouver B.C. and would be willing to have the fun Drive LOL $25 bucks you say hehe.. Ill call Nissan Tomorrow after I visit the local wrecker here seemed to have tracked down A COUPLE of Z's hmmm possible treasure!!!!! *looks at pockets.. hmm getting low on $$$....... could sell my arms or kidneys.. hmmm yep Ill just have to sell my soul* DEVIL Z here I come!

     

    Oh also Recommend the 300zxt turbo with Water cooling to all. deffinately keeps it cool in there almost thinking of adding a small cooler just for it to cycle through like a tranny cooler but make it a extra mini turbo Rad =-)

     

    OH ANYONE NEED ANY SPECIFIC Z SHIAT CAUSE the guy said hes got a Couple and I am willing to dismatle crap and sell it for a bit more than I bought for but very cheap.

    Everything but my front fenders..... lol.... Found them to be quite the Rusty Pile well the lower 10% anyway.. Just cut it off but now they dont attach to the wheel well down there haha.. (*cuts up some sheet metal, bends by hand*) ah... a Few sheet metal screws here and there.... tada!! lol Rough but it will do for now!

     

    Anyone got Frotn Fenders!!

  11. Yeah right now as I said feels So much better. My Buddy with a fairly Mod'd Skyline GTS 2.0T got in and he remembers the old version. He could not get over how quick the throttle responce was and wasnt expecting the power through the whole RPM range. Almost got a Ticket 2 mins out of his driveway for doing 0-70kmh in a 50 LOL Cop just came out of Tim Hortons (doughnut Shop) lol.. Dont even have my front fenders on yet Either haha.. Looks like some kinda Hotrods stepchild! :mrgreen:

Usually when installing the seals I put a bit of tranny magic (sealer) or a good Diff sealant around the seal itself just incase any debri or sand or what have you is still there so it seals no matter what. Buut prolly a seal leak or maybe even the wrong seal was used.. Parts people arent always on their A game =-)

  13. :mrgreen:After all the Fiddling, and soldering, Porting, cleaning, splicing, trips to the wrecker, mass question on here, and of course BLOOD , SWEAT, But no TEARS.

     

    I rate it 100% Pure Fun. Deffinately learned a hell of alot in the process. Made my fears of electrical virtually dissapear. And best of all Man oh Man dose she fly with great consistancy.

     

    Power from start to finish and im running an AUTO Tranny right now.. ewwwwww...

     

    Can't Wait to drop my 5-Speed in this week I think I better start saving for tires.. :mrgreen: and when the Intercooler comes in and im pushing 12.5psi golly miss molly Silvia's watch out. :)

  14. yeah I went to wrecker and got a 300zx TPS that bolts right up to the 60mm TB and t works fine now. Just as I said in other post it seems a taaad rich like its injecting to soo and firing to late or something lol.. I mean now its hauling ass but seems liek it needs to be tuned juuuuuuust a lil bit more cause if I play with throttle like 85% as opposed to 100% I get a nice clean pull feeling where as if I jam on it its kinda like its trying to hard lol
