  1. OK well did some more work on it today. of course i didnt have enough bends i was one short I will go get some more tomorrow and do some work on it thursday The intake manifold is just sitting on there at the moment so dont think its going to be running and touching the header at the same time I have redone number 6 it doesnt look right , you can see it in the first pic
  2. Im going like this manifold, this one goes close to the intake as well. Hpc coating will reduce the temps alot im not worried
  3. Thanks man Nah i am looking at a big intercooler to reduce temps
  4. Thats because the pipe i am using has a massive v ground in it already, it makes it look like its got a massive clearance. there is a couple that have a bit bigger than they should. when i weld it up in sections i will weld a section on then clean it from the inside while i can get to it. then weld the next section on.
  5. Im not sure what brand of turbo to use yet A chinese one is quite likely , I have spoken to a few people that have run them and they have the same result you did. I went to metaland and brough the bends they are $4.50 each or close to it I will go buy some more tomorrow as im getting low on them now.
  6. I didnt ge tthis one cut i brought it But you can get them cut i got quoted at $100 I was thinking about making a few of these for a while , not sure now and so was getting prices
  7. I brought the flange of ebay, but you can get them water cut if you want them. The intake is just waiting to be wleded up , however i have some itbs i may put on instead just for that coolness look
  8. Yeah its close but the intake manifold was not bolted up tight and so it had dropped abit as well Yes the plan is to get it hpc coated to reduce the temps as well Thanks for the heads up , im pretty happy with the design so far.
  9. Ok progress pics I have done the front pipes and hopefully will get the rest done tomorrow or at least this week. Then its time to remove them and weld them all solid and put them back on. Im reasonablly happy with how its turning out its no monzter style thing but its even length and held close to engine and out of the way.
  10. I'm going to use a t3/ t4 hybid . I have not yet figured out the compressor and turbine size / ratio
  11. Thanks phil Yeah i will post more pics next week when i have the pipes on hopefully Im will get a thermal barrier put on them as well to reduce underbonnet temps
  12. Well i decided to build my turbo header this week so here are some pics for you. I rung a shop asking about merge collectors for the headers but quicly realised the guy had no idea what he was talking about even though he makes and sells them So it was time to do them myself and there is my manifold sitting on the ground, well its kinda there just not welded up yet Notice the socks I went into work today and did some more work on my Exhaust manifold. Its comimg along nicely, of course its all just tacked together and has to be fully welded once all the pipes are sorted Thats not where the header pipe will end up it was just a play to see what it would look like And to suport the manifold when its finished
  13. yes just idle of battery your engine will go for ages with no charge going in A powerful alternator will top it up in no time as well Im not saying i am going to do it but its what we do in the race cars i work on . Actually the gearbox has a small out put on the back just for that
  14. Ahh easy run the alternator of the drive shaft like we do in the race cars you dont have anything on the engine then . Yes i will be running an electric fan
  15. I dont care it looks awesome To be honest i agree its not really needed other than you get constant flow regardless of engine speed so no pump cavitation But it looks awesome
  16. How cool is this. Talk about clean up the engine bay
  17. About an inch out from the shorter section. Just waiting for the throttle body to turn up so i can put it on there and start to weld the manifold all up. Then its the fuel rail and regulator and its close to finished.
  18. I Bolted my intake manifold up to just make sure the clearance would be right Its going to come through just perfect. When i unbolted the carbs and threw them over my shoulder there was so much more room. Will actually be easy to work on this thing with out those pesky old fuel hit and miss parts on it No comments about the engine bay please , i know its a mess and i will get onto it after i have the parts all made up. I just done want to do it up and then have to work on it and scatch it all up
  19. yeah your right, If you have a look at the manifold you can see where i have already started to do that with a catdrige wheel. When its all welded up i will go over the whole thing and get that smooth finish on it. Then go and blast it then. We have a sand blaster down the road from me i think he uses gravel as a medium ( haha) ,it should make for a nice rough finish like i am after.
  20. Nothing more to report so far I have been busy getting my block hot tanked and getting that ready for the rebuild. My main thing now is just getting it welded up and then sand blastered

Ok the first person to give me a deposit will get there engine etc for pure cost. Im doing a exercise in logistics to start with. I agree about the rods not being in there, I just wasnt sure what people wanted
  22. Thanks for that I didnt do a measure. I more looked at it and decided what i thought it was close to For the end one its not real an exact sicence but it looks close to 4 litres I ended up using 4mm plate for the sides. Yes my plan is to try and keep the orginal throttle at all costs. if i cant do that then i will go for drive by wire so there is nothing hanging from the engine

ok that what i thought most people would want ie just the crank and the block

yeah ok cool.what comes with the shortblock you are buying Im guessing people want crank , block , rods and pistons The smaller it is the cheaper to ship. pm me and we will try and work out the price. Im happy to do it a real reduced price just to work out the bugs and so i can get it right

Yeah i have that bit sorted, I just trying to figure out who would be interested Thanks for the idea about the skyline people i will go talk there as well. I have a person in the usa who will ship them off or i could ship them one by one in a box. My job makes it very easy for me to crate up.
