  1. Ok having a look around i saw some other manifolds other people had made and i like the way they flowed them into the front cylinder. I could see a shortcoming on my first design So i changed it a bit today, I think it will look alot better and should flow alot more as well. Of course it needs to be welded up and its just held together with tape at the moment. Hopefully i will get it tacked together on wednesday and then will make the plates to over all other holes. Should be excellent when finshed The front where the throttle body was will be cut off once i have the pipes tacked in place and then i will make a plate to blend in the front
  2. Ok thanks guys thats the info i want Seems i may have read it wrong
  3. I was just working out the calculation off the cfm you posted . 170-190 cfm works out to be 278hp http://www.speedwaybids.com/calcs/powerfromcfm.html Grinding naked is not going to work for me.Cartdrige wheel to the testes is not a good look. If it turns out to be a restriction i will just make another manifold, im thinking about getting it flow tested just to see what it does flow. a friend of mine has a flow bench
  4. Yeah I think thats going to be the go
  5. Just a stronger block I have two l28,s and i just wondering what one to use
  6. I have read that some of the f54 blocks ( the early ones were higher nickel and are the ones to have Does anyone know how to identify these blocks

Thanks Thats information i wanted I will be watching it with interest
  8. Ha ha ha I grind in bare feet The alloy gets stuck in the hairs on my toes

Wow a massive answer there You assume I have no idea what I am talking about and im just sprouting words I have found on the internet. I’m glad you’re happy with your Mega squirt Please don’t suppose to know what my income is and if I can afford a decent ecu or not. The fact is you get better driveability with sequential and thats what i am after This was never meant to be a Geek off about injection i just wanted an answer to my question I guess the answer is not yet
  10. the valve idea works well , thanks for that yeah sock are the go in the house at the moment its raining again if i average your estimation of 170-190 and use 180 then the manifold will flow 278 hp Im not sure if many l28s are getting that in N/A trim With boost it should get along just fine Im looking to make about 350 at the wheels so i think it will be enough As far as the head yeah i am just going to give it a mild cleanup to get rid of anything that impeds the flow Thanks for the heads up Oh and i used to be a car mechanice before i saw the light and went with the valveless engine hahaha Not sure what this cam thing is however i have been using it as a lever bar .Is this bad??
  11. No i am not going to polish it I am just getting the casting marks out of it so i can get it resandblasted to give it that sand cast finish all over, i havent finished it yet , the welding will need cleaning up , until that time im not going to hard on the finish Yes i will be welding flat stock to the cast , done it heaps before works very well

What i am looking for is an ecu that has sequential cababilty All the high end ones have it now . sure its not the only factor but you can get better driveability with it than with out it. My decision will be based on more than one feature of course , but an ecu that doesnt do sequential is not in my future. If you just after peak numbers then there is no need to go for sequential But if you want a better idle , better fuel economy and traffic driveabilty then its for you Surely the fact that all manufactuers have gone to sequential as well as professional motorsport shows it has some merit Have a look at this link http://www.efi101.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3877&view=previous&sid=1eaf7e9e61336048be157f17d6df2b56
  13. Ok well more work on the manifold today its ready to get welded up now Took the egr right out of it Also removed the centre rib out of the manifold and took all the casting marks of it

Thanks for your honesty, its the first step You were impling that sequential was not a major feature worth worrying about I was saying what is the feature that mega squirt has that would make me buy it over another ecu that has sequential. If i was driving around at 100% throttle all the time then i would save money and go for a batch fire , but the reality is no one actually does that

Yeah i am aware of that The low end midrange is what you pick up with sequential easily. No i am not going to do the one temp sensor per cylinder as its to hard and expensive( though i could just egt it ). Going for 6 wide band sensors would just kill me. I just want the driveablity and the economy that comes from sequential.

Its a nissan l28 the reason I want sequential is so in the mid range and lower i can actually fire at an open valve The helps econmy driveabilty and midrange torque If i already had a batch fire i wouldnt care but since i dont have anything i may as well go for the best The vehicle is a turbo so anything that makes the off boost better is a good thing

When are you expecting them to be avaliable I dont really want an injection system thats batch fire for my car. If i already had batch then fine but since i am buying a system then i will be getting a sequential

Awesome Yeah would be good to catch up. Would like to see it and see what you have done I like what you have done with the coils

Well thats what i want to get to. What happens is another thing What has been done to your l28et
  20. Plus with a good ecu you can trim a cylinder if ones not flowing the same as the others Something like you have. A motec

I want traction control because im shooting at between 350 and 400 whp. Also I would like to do some club days etc etc to have switchable traction control would be handy trying to get power down off the turns Then we i want to clown it up i want to be able to slide down the road sideways in 2nd gear fighting for traction I didnt think that the ms was sequential ethier , i really want that so i can get the mid range torque you and driveabilty you get from sequential ,As well as the ability to trim cylinder mixture to max power

Yeah Motec is nice but damn its expensive I was speaking to mark there tech guy and it was going to be $3700 by the time i got the m600 with traction control on it The haltech is about 1600 and the autronic is 2200. However there is no doubt that Motec is the best Im glad to know that the ms can do sequential , i will have more of a look into it
  23. Yes you need to keep them the same across the cylinders, Thats the hard part is keeping them the same. No i dont normally measure with a ball bearing , but since I had some them i tried them down it. They did actually show me that the diameter down the runners was very close between them I was looking to get the diameter up to help the flow. The thing is with manifolds like this is unless you have sidedraft webers then or itbs then the flow is going to be different between them all anyway.
  24. Im using a die grinder with a 9" shank then im using cartdrige wheels to clean up the alloy afterwards I build alot of race two stroke engines so my stock of burrs is quite big
