What brackets should I keep in the engine bay
COZY Z COLE replied to Zerrari GTO's topic in Body Kits & Paint
My 2 cents is to leave them alone for now. In the 1+ year since I pulled the old engine I've done 4 or 5 differernt add or remove of set-ups and was glad to have open screw holes. LARRY -

Boy is this ever an emotional topic!!! Let's all take a deep breath and step back. Bottom line is it's his car and he can do with it what he chooses.... and that's what's going to happen at the end of the day........ LARRY -
One more LUCAS electrical story..... Do you remember the auto critics shock when JOHN DeLOREAN's sports car came out and he had their wiring in his state of the art car???/ How about JOHNNY CARSON (who had put some of his money in that venture) stuck inside one of those cars when the electrical went dead and he couldn't get out because the doors were electric only and he couldn't open them?? A crowd of people were seen laughing at him. That's enough stories!!!!!! LARRY

This brings back memories of BRITISH cars..... First car I bought was a 62 TR-3, Hell of a time starting it when the temp. outside was under 32 degs. F. and the side curtains in rain or snow.... . My first new car was a 76 TR-7 and the 2nd month I had it, it went to the dealer for a 2 week "find the LUCAS electrical problem" visit. I then wised up and purchased a new 79 RX-7.. Why oh Why didn't I keep it LARRY

LOL...... I know the feeling of not joining in alot of these type discussions because of my set-up. It's like being the 10th piglet with 9 stools at momma's feeding table... , but I'm still SPANKING them.... LARRY -
The 78 FSM also shows yellow with blue stripe to the fuel warning lamp. That wire and the yellow that goes to the fuel gauge both route thru a 10 amp fuse to the ignition relay. LARRY

QUOTE " this shop was a Corvette only place, nothing but new Z06's parked out front... and he makes some comment about my car not running 'as clean as a Vette... it must be damaging the sensor'. Double . " My .02 cents, first of all if somebody reccomended this shop to you they should be slapped!!! Something is happening to your engine at 2800 rpm's and if the a/f is to believed(????) there is an internal vacumn leak like around your intake manifold, ect. I'd do a complete vacumn check. As to not hearing pinging, that doesn't mean anything. A engine should be shut down with the a/f readings your chart indicates. Too bad you didn't pull the plugs after your run to check for oil deposits to see if you were really running that lean because of a vacumn leak. Any competent operator would have stopped the runs, told you what to check, and let you fix it and come back and charged you accordingly. This has been my exp. LARRY

E- bay seller forgot to put the reserve price on this Z!!!!!
COZY Z COLE replied to COZY Z COLE's topic in Non Tech Board
About the sig, after they tell me about the Z just like mine, they can never give me a phone number or address. Seems it's always a number of years ago and the person has died or the car has. They always tell me it dyno'd 400 to 500 hp to the rear. Show me the" dyno sheet" Which leads me to one other thing. I would rather have my car at a custom car show anyday than at a all datsun show. Custom car and " hot rod" owners appreciate hybrid Z cars and what you've done to them rather than most Datsun club members that I've been around. Now back to e-bay!!!! LARRY -

OUTSOURCING JOBS REACHES NEW HEIGHTS by Staff Reporter Melynda Jill Washington DC - Congress today announced that the Office of President of the United States will be outsourced to overseas interests as of June 30th, the end of this fiscal year. The move is being made to save $400K a year in salary, a record $521 Billion in deficit expenditures and related overhead. "The cost savings will be quite significant" says Congressman Adam Smith (D - Wash) who, with the aid of the GAO (the General Accounting Office) has studied outsourcing of American jobs extensively. "We simply can no longer afford this level of outlay and remain competitive in the world stage", Congressman Smith said. Mr. Bush was informed by email this morning of the termination of his position. He will receive health coverage, expenses and salary until his final day of employment. After that, with a two week waiting period, he will then be eligible for $240 dollars a week from unemployment insurance for 13 weeks. Unfortunately he will not be able to receive state Medicaid health insurance coverage as his unemployment benefits are over the required limit. Preparations have been underway for some time for the job move. Sanji Gurvinder Singh of Indus Teleservices, Mumbai, India will be assuming the Office of President of the United States as of July 1. Mr. Singh was born in the United States while his parents were here on student visas, thus making him eligible for the position. He will receive a salary of $320 (USD) a month but with no health coverage or other benefits. Due to the time difference between the US and India, Mr. Singh will be working primarily at night, when offices of the US Government will be open. "I am excited to > serve in this position," Mr. Singh stated in an exclusive nterview. "Working nights will let me keep my day job at the American Express call center. I always knew I could be President someday." Congress stressed patience when calling Mr. Singh as he may not be fully aware of all the issues involved with his new position. A Congressional Spokesperson noted that Mr. Singh has been given a script tree to follow which will allow him to respond to most topics of concern. The Spokesperson further noted that "additional savings will be realized as these scripting tools have been successfully used by Mr. Bush and will enable Mr. Singh to provide an answer without having to fully understand the issue itself." Mr. Bush has been offered the use of a Congressional Page to help him write a resume and prepare for his upcoming job transition. According to Manpower, Inc., the placement firm, Mr. Bush may have difficulties in securing a new position as job prospects in the Sports Franchise Ownership arena remain limited. A recently released report from the Pentagon suggests a good prospect for him as a newly unemployed person may be in the Army National Guard. There he would be called up with his unit and stationed in Iraq, a country he has visited briefly before. "I've been there, I know all about Iraq and the conditions there," stated Mr. Bush. He gained invaluable knowledge of the country in his first visit at the Baghdad Airport non-smoking terminal and gift shop. Meanwhile in Baghdad and Falluja, Iraq, sources report that local Iraqis say Mr. Bush would receive an especially warm reception from them. Such sources stated the Iraqis only request would be to be informed of which convoy he would be riding in order to give him the welcome he deserves. Congress continues to explore other outsourcing possibilities including that of Vice-president and most Cabinet positions LARRY

Thanks to all who have posted on my latest upgrade!!! The cowl has been mentioned a few times so let me say this.... Trust me if you owned this car you would love it for this reason. The cowl is a 5 in. one and I need all of it. After adding the 4 brl. dp carb., HOLLEY blower, and K&N X-Stream 14" by3 3/4" air filter on the engine there is a 1/4" clearance left. I also have 3 guages mounted outside that hide nicely under it for my viewing ( rpm, fuel level, and fuel pressure). BTW you efi guys don't have to watch fuel pressure like I do, +or- 1 psi from the 6 psi I run is all I can have or I've got a problem and have to shut it down. The last reason I love this cowl is that, if you are side by side or coming at me, it's DAMN intimadating.... Next upgrade is the R-230 diff. and the 8 or 10lb. boost pulley. LARRY
