  1. Well theoretically they would be the same minus motor mounts. In a 240 you can easily drop in a ca18det. The only difference is that the ka and sr mounts will make the ca sit a little more tilted, but aside from that it should be similar to putting a ka into the z.
  2. This car is now for sale on ebay... found it today. Not mine just letting people know.ebay link
  3. Sorry for the delays on pics guys had a couple of problems with the compressor, the bolts on the exhaust stripped out the head from vibrating so much, so I had to run it back to the rental place until they get a new one for me on monday. So stay tuned..
  4. Thanks wheelman. The car is only going to be used on street with very rare chance of seeing a track.
  5. Alright guys after a long wait here is an update. I have finish my garage and started on the car again. I have taken the car off of the dolly and put it in it's final place until my suspension is back on. The first pics are how the car was before I started sandblasting this week. Here are some of the toys I have been using. The compressor is a rental from Northside Tool Rental here in Atlanta, it's a 8.5 horsepower dual stage air compressor. This thing is a beast at 90psi its flowing 14.7 cfm it never misses a beat. The sandblaster is from Horror Freight. The only mods I had to do to it were replace the crappy water separator with a nicer one from Home Depot. This was a gift from my boss at work, just cause he didn't want it anymore, perks of working at a Shell Station were companies give us stuff for free. Here is an after teaser shot, there are more to come tomorrow...
  6. Looks like illuminas it is then! thanks guys I'm ordering them today then
  7. I bought the ground control coilover kit with 225 front spring rate and 250 rear spring rate. I tried to call tokico but the technical support guy is out of town until next week and I need to order them yesterday. I've searched and found out that people use tokico illuminas, but I would prefer not to have the adjustable shocks because I would never adjust them. I would put them on one setting and keep them there. So my question is will tokico blues be ok with my spring rates?
  8. Like the title states I am in the market for a nearly perfect dash. I do not mind minor cracks but I do not want anything completely obvious like my current dash is, with five huge cracks along the center three gauges. Please pm me with pics or links to pics of the dash you have, please take close-ups of any cracks, and please pm me with a price shipped to 30008. Thanks for any help. Also I state nearly perfect because I don't want to spend 1,000 right now, so let me know what you have.
  9. Nice! It looks great! I will be doing the same thing in hopefully the next week or two, I'm currently fighting against the factory undercoating on my 280z.
  10. Did you roll, brush, or spray the rust bullet on?
  11. Anybody got some pics to show me what I'm getting into? Any pics would help.....
  12. So now I have an opposing argument about the stitch welding. Every stitch weld I have seen have been an edge weld on a lap joint, regardless of a spot weld made in the relative same location. This car is not going to be a track car, it will rarely see a track as of right now, I am only doing this in case I decide to go to an auto x day or something like that, so do I need to worry about stress cracks on the stitch welds on a daily driven car? Also if anyone had any pics of the stitch welding on their z I would love to see them just to see what I'm getting myself into.
  13. Hey guys I am at the point that I am ready to start stitch welding my car and I am not exactly sure of what would be the best weld to go with. Would a series of spot welds every inch or two be better that one to two inch weld beads every one to two inches? Any help would be great so I can start tomorrow. Also particular places I should spend more time on would help as well
  14. Nobody has a 280zxt there parting off that can get me this plug?
  15. Like the title says I need the plug that goes into the distributor with the four female pins inside of it, I also believe there is a screw that keeps it in place as well.
  16. I have seen this car in person and it is in great shape. Call me if you need help with anything buddy.
  17. Hi guys! Sorry its taking so long. The build is not dead just dormant. The garage took longer than I expected and Im finishing it up this weekend so ill have all the space I need to take care of everything. Once it is all back together Im going to start stitch welding the entire front end. So thanks for being patient and Ill have some pics up soon!
  18. Yeah do that ^ if you want to be like every 240sx owner out there, then go on and paint your car flat black. Either buy a new one from MSA or take it to a fiberglass guy.
