My brakes went out a couple days ago and my mechanic told me my master cylinder had leaked onto my brake booster causing it to fail. I have a 78 280z and not the biggest budget. The price for a new one on ebay is about 200$, i was wondering if a used one would work out fine? If anyone knows anything about this lemme no. Also if you know where to find and how much a used brake booster would cost. thanks/
i have a 1978 280z in S. Oregon. ( think that is within the milage, depending on where in Nevada you are.)
lots of new stuff.
full msa3 body kit.
some rust. newish l28 motor.
Starving High School student in desprate need of a half shaft for my 78 280z. Just bought all new U-joints then found out one half shaft is no good.
I am in southern Oregon. Any help would be great.
Thanks Alex
My mechanic says that the clunking noise in the rear of the car is coming from the rear u joints on the axels. Told me to buy new stub axles with u-joints complete. Is he just being lazy (does not want to replace a cheap u-joint ) or is better and easier to get the whole axels? Also where do I get them for a good price, can I buy used or is this a new only part?
Thanks for any advice. Jerry
Actually just move 5 miles down the road to Ashland, Oregon.
My mechanic cant figure out rich running problem so his next idea is to switch out the ECU? Everything checks out fine but still runs rich?
Would love to borrow or buy one to test with
My son and I have a 1978 280z with stock injection. The car has a rebuilt motor (4k miles) has been running great for last year or so but just started running poorly.
For 3 days it would run bad when cold and was running a little rough, then on the 4th day it would barely run at all, back fired, black smoke bucking, and would not idle.
I took it to my local shop (almost had to have it towed) they determined that it was running "pig" rich. They checked the temp sensor and airflow meter and all was working correctly, they are having trouble finding the gremlin (perfect compression too)
I told them if Hybrid Z guys cant figure it out no one can!
Any help would be great.
Thanks Jerry
