  1. Well I checked www.procharger.com and it says max Hp for a D-1 is 925, I still have stock heads so I'm sure I could gain another 50+ with a set of AFR's.
  2. ya I wont turn down the boost, I got the 65lb injectors for 600+hp and the speed pro full sequential computer, I was thinking about a monster turbo because I'm tired of how unrelaible the blower is, always throwin belts, blowin up, but I already have it and a turbo setup would cost me to much$$$. I like the blower when it works, the sound is crazy, it was so loud it sounded like a airplane, people would trip out when I rolled by and thats what I liked, I'm just gonna get some stickier tires, I would be happy if I could get it to hook in 3rd.
  3. with that wide of a tire and flares you wouldnt be able to have the car very low, I like my car to sit as low as I can get it without scraping my exhaust, I dont like the look of a Z when it's too high, if you have seen a SCCA ITS 240z with 15 panasports, thats the look I like.
  4. Man I hear you both and debate the isssue all the time, I want to keep all the things about it that people liked so much, so I guess It will be the same as it was but better.
  5. I think I have hit over 160, the car felt ok, but I guess there was a reason I let off, I was probably scared!!
  6. ya that would be nice, my car pulls so hard in 3rd and 4th I couldnt imagine what it would feel like if it hooked in 1st.
  7. oh for sure, I made those vids so long ago, the new ones will blow you away!!!
  8. now I have been thinking making it a road race car or at least something I could take to Sears Point or Thunder Hill for a open track day, maybe a yZ flair kit with some 18x10, remove the blower and get airflow research heads diffrent pistons for higher compression and probably have 450hp, it would rip!
  9. ya I know, I have full road race suspension, coilovers camberplates, everything!! It seems more logical to just get a beater z thats stripped and tub it and make it a drag car with stock suspension in front, ok I just keep dreaming about a fast z, I got a buddy with a mustang with a t-100 turbo and a intercooler bigger than my radiator, supposed to be 12-1300hp and run 8's, I was thinking about smokin his ass with my Z!! But man I could probably buy a 8 second car for cheaper than it would be to hack up my Z, so maybe I will just keep putting it back together the way it is, damm you guys keep talking me out of my crazy ideas to hacking up my car
  10. I am having a lot of Ideas for putting my car back together, I keep thinking just put it back together the way it was, but with 600hp handling isnt even a concern anymore so I think **** I might as well have it tubbed, that brings me to the ideas I have for it, I would like a 4 link rear end with 345 drag radials tucked underneath, a 2 speed powerglide, turn the boost up and run some nos for about 800hp, just make it the nastiest fat tired 8 second pizza cutter's n' parachutes all black, somthing you could drive on the street, maybe even with 20x10 tucked in and 19's in the front, I want my car to look like this but black without the monster motor
  11. Thank's to everybody for all ideas, I think I'm gonna not flare it. I will see about getting some 15 inch rims with drag radials for the track, and I'm defiantly gonna ditch the 235 yokahama avs, I will try to bang around inside the rear fender to see how much tire I can get. I like my car to sit pretty low so I will try to get the tire size somewhat the same, maybe a 245-35-17 for the street. I recently purchased the tubular control arms from AZ Z car, does anybody have these and do they work good??. I'm dying to get my car running, it's been almost 2 years!!I will get plenty of video footage and pics putting it back together, maybe I will post some pics of what it looks like now, just to shock some people, its a heap!!!!
  12. Hell ya I'm down for that, are you going to the show??
  13. rims are 17x8 and I was running 235-40-17 yokahama avs which I know are junk, I dont think I could fit a 245 wihtout raising the rear, man when I had a stock lt1 with 300hp the car was perfect. even if I shorten the control arms the inside fender is only so big, and yes I have flatened the inner lip of the fender. I just thought it would be cool to have some big ass tires in the fenders but I dont want to spend the $$ and have to hack up the rear to fit a new IRS. I think even if I lowered the boost the car will still get crazy, many times I have been in 4th gear and almost lost it, when it's cold out at night the thing would get crazy. I have had people ride in the car that have never been in fast car and watch thier face turn white in fear, I think I even still have some fingernail marks in my dashboard
  14. ya I have splayed B&B 4 bolt main caps with a cola 4340 steel crank rod throws drilled and lightened with eagle rods all arp bolts adn venolia pistons, I think the stock block is only good for 800hp or maybe more who know I wont be pushin that much anyway.
  15. Ok here's my problem, I would like to get my car to hook up, not like a drag car but not laying rubber at 80mph either. I would like to retain the stock look of the Z if I could.I like the flair kits but I spent a long time fitting new rear 1/4 panels and chopping them up again would kill me!! I think the best setup would be a independent rear like a jag so I could go in with the rims and not out, kinda like Brian Feldmans yellow rotary 510, I like that look!! Then again I have a r230 rear with tubular control arms cut struts camber plates coil overs willwood disk's sway bar etc..lot of $$$ already invested. The cheapest thing for me to do is run the car exactly how I had it, go fast from 80 up, but until 80 I dont hook up, and it is kinda dangerous trying to countersteer at that speed, what should I do?? #1 remove the blower and just run the motor, probably have 450hp, should hook up a lot better. #2 Keep the blower and tub the car for a 4 link or a jag or rearend or that type and put some big meats under the fender's #3 Keep the blower and the rear suspension and fit a big flair kit like the yz flair to get some wider tires #4 **** it lay rubber everywhere I go!
  16. The hood pins are made by Sparco, they come in blue or red. The best 1/4 mile I ever got was when my car first had the blower at 7lbs of boost and 4 broken pistons puffin smoke and oil out of the breathers, ran a 12.1 at 118. I hope for it to go a low 11 at 130+, I know it wont hook up, but I dont car I wanna go fast from 80 to 180!
  17. ya the most major work went into choping off the quarter panels and fitting stock ones. I should post some pics of what it looks like now, just a shell again, it does have a dash and a fuel cell but that's it. I am hoping to have the car done by the April Z show, again.
  18. no that's my friend Mel over in Kuwait right now, and yes I have recieved a few speeding tickets, but not latetly knock on wood
  19. I just added more pics, you can see what the z looked like before I painted it, got some old pics of my 510 and the one I crashed into the tree, and a buddy's crashed 240.
  20. I got a few new pics of my Z up on my site www.darius240z.com/240z.htm I hope to have it running before summer, It needs alot of work and looks like a pile of **** right now but I will try to get it back together to make some new vid's, maybe some of me putting it back together, I would post pics of what it looks like now but you wouldnt believe me, ha ha I'l keep you guys posted, D
  21. What's up Z freaks, it's been a while since I posted here just wanted to let everybody know that my site is now working www.darius240z.com. I havent been working on the Z much latlely but I am going to start on it soon and hope to have it done in after december sometime. Upgrades will be a fell pro full sequential fuel injection system with 65lb injectors, different spec venolia pistons, tubular control arms, all suspension is powdercoated, car is repainted fully, underneath fender wells everywhere!!! I'm hoping to get around 650hp at the rear wheels. Anyway check out the site, I have some pics posted of the car, and also I have a new video coming out within a week that has never before seen footage of the Z along with another R1 race, lots of crazy bike stunts, go karts, pocketbikes, go peds, and tons of good crashes. Check it out!!!!
  22. Yes it is an 2000 R-1 and I love it. I love to take it out and do wheelies, burnouts, stoppies, with my buddies, your right it does not get any better than a V8-Z and a R-1, well maybe a V8-Z a R-1 and a 40ft scarab with 2 blown big block's filled full of hot chick's!! As for the oval tubing I would like to have my car lower but the exhaust limits me from going any lower. I want to go fast, like 180 to 200 amd I know getting the car low will make it more stable at speed and keep air from traveling underneath the car, I will have to look into that, thanks for the info!!
  23. If you have a v-8 and are running 2inch pinch bends you would definatly be better of with 2 1/2 mandrel bent pipes. My system is dual 3 mandrel from the headers back, no pinching going on anywhere. Another system I have used is 2, 2 1/2 pipes into a 3 1/2 pipe but to flow like dual 3's you would probably need a single 4 to 4 1/2 and I know z dont have ground clearance for that. I have always liked a big single better, and supposedly it makes more power. If you go to a qualified muffler shop flowmaster has a chart of what size exhaust you need depending on how much power you have. I think dual 3inch is good for over 500 hp. It also depends on how high you rev your motor, higher reving=faster exhaust=bigger tubing to restrict less power. Get the sawzall out and hack of that 2 inch pipe!!
  24. It is on taner.net Look at the movies section and scroll down a bit, it's there!
  25. I am running dual 3inch mandrel bent tubing to 2 chamber flowmasters. I might not sound two loud on video but it is very loud, but I like it, except after a long drive when my ears start ringing!!
