  1. Alright I have done some searching but haven’t found exactly what I need. The problem is that my car (260z with a l28 Turbo) seems to choke on light accel. The car starts perfect, but when I step on it seems to... hit kinda a dead spot, but after that it revs up to redline no problem. It is just that part throttle that... just delays for a second. I am trying to explain the best i can, anyway any help you "guys" may have would be appreciated.

So I finally have my car running again. And it is time to get my exhaust done up. I want to go with 3", but I am lightly concerned with ground clearance, as the car is lowered already. If anyone has pictures of there 3" from the back and from under. I just would like to see how many bends I will need. I just want to know what I need when I talk to the shop again. Thanks all
  4. Alright, I have read this over and over, and i just don't get it... I have to valve cover off and the engine at TDC, of the compression/power stroke. Now the dizzy is at the plug 1 wire (actually just before) and both valves are closed. Now if i look through the hole in the cam gear that has 1 cast to it i see a - with a key way just below I have a pic here Here is the full sized one http://hybridz.org/nuke/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/16934/Pictures%20022.1.jpg You can see the dash and the key way is just to the right (in the pic the engine is just off TDC) but when it is @ TDC the right side of the - is the start of the keyway (so it is kinda -u) The 2nd pic is of the cam position at tdc... To see the full sized ones i uploaded them to a gallery, Let me know if you guys see anything odd... http://hybridz.org/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=thumbnails&album=153
  5. Well i am going to get the engine to tdc of the compression stroke and see where the dizzy is. But the distributer was tight before i moved it around (and i did mark it so that i could return it to it's original position...
  6. Sorry if this has been covered, I was unable to find what I needed in from a search. Now I have a problem with my L28et not running (please check out the troubleshooting post) And we are thinking timing, so my question is what is the easiest way to check cam timing. Do I have to pull off the lower cover to get at the crank gear or is there an easier way... and if not anyone's pitfall's that they have to share would be super helpful thanks
  7. Alright... so I now can get the car "running" after a bit of cranking it will start to stumble, and if I play with the throttle. It will start to run but seems to be only running on 2 cylinders, and as so if I close the throttle it will stall. I tested all the injectors they are all pulsing and each injector clicks... So what I am down to is either it is horribly flooding, or the timing is off.. because I have compression, fuel, spark.... I don't know if anyone has any other ideas please let me know...
  8. I was reading your thread and got a few ideas but still nothing that has worked.... The plugs seem wet... All i can do short of pulling the injector and watching it's flow pattern. And as far as my electrical system it all works the fan the radio, light, blah blah blah it works except the running...huh... i am going to take my multi-meter tommorow after work and check that it is getting full power. But I am almost positive that i can hear the injectors clicking... but with out that injector light i am not 100% sure. oh and thanks, I have actually been a random lurker for a few years now, but I finnaly pulled up my sleaves, found and picked up the car i have been dreaming about for 3 years.... So excited! Just wish it would start
  9. De-Lurk So I picked up this 260z, with a 280zxt engine, not to long ago, when I test drove it worked just fine started right up no problem, dragged it home it still started and drove. So i put it on jack stands and replaced the clutch slave cylinder and put it down. And then no running... All i get is the cranking, with the occasional sputter. Like it fires once but no more. - I checked all the wires around the transmission where i was - Cranks fine, checked voltage, it is ok - Fuel pressure is 42lbs - I pulled the plugs and to check for spark, nice hot spark, and they smell like fuel - No vacuum leaks that I can find all the lines seem new. - Checked compression, 120 over all 6 - Some posts have alluded to the CHTS, so i tried to start with the sensor plugged in or out, no difference I am just out of ideas; I have spark, fuel, and compression. SO WHAT IS THERE! I dose anyone have any ideas on where I should go on this? Thanks
