I hope this is more of a preventative measure rather than needing it due to a recent bad experience?

Perhaps the exhaust woes could be remedied by some upswept headers?
I always thought this conversion was awesome, and i've been trying to find these links forever. Has anybody seen the sr20 and 2jz-gte bimmers?

Man, i'd like to see that bear hit a beer-bong!

Alright. I'm having a bit of trouble getting motivated to even start my project now. A lot of people are discouraging me from restoring/hybridifying my 72, mainly due to cost. I dont have ample amounts of cash on hand and i cant get a loan, and it looks like it'll take me about 12-14 months to do otherwise (assuming i spend about 800 a month on the Z). I live in an apartment, and dont really have room other than the carport, and my roomate isn't cool with parking on the street. What do you guys suggest i do? And my daily driver is a piece as well, and need something i can go out in without being embarassed.

I like how the pamphlet says "universal" casket. How universal can a casket be?
Can you lie in them to test them out, get a feel for them?

In one of the interior pictures, you can see some lettering on the dash pad on the passenger side...looks like " 2 Fast 2...." cliche? hideous? I'd like to see the rest of what it says.
And as far as those rims go...umm...i think if he had the funds, i think he would have put some 13" daytons on there.
"Sorry, the tires and rims shown in pictures DO NOT come with the vehicle, but do have the original tires."
Just the original tires? I guess you need to bring your own wheels.

Those of you with fd rx7 seats - where are you buying them and at what cost?
All i want it some nice, cloth seats (no power), and the cheapest i can find them for is $5-700 which seems a bit high.
Any suggestions would be great.

Dave @ arizona z car told me that headlights can go in the holes in the bottom, but i'd have to agree that it'd be too low. I'm sure i'm get pulled over in a heartbeat, especially here in CA. however, it does give an additional 4" of width on each side of the car = huge tires.
The price i was quoted was $895. I dont know how many people would be ingterested in a group buy, especially considering the size and it being a pick-up only item.

74 5.0L Z
How much would you be charging for the built cage?
Thanks

Besides personal taste, is there a reason why more people dont have the Camel GT front end?
I was considering it, but i wondered if there was something i didnt know that would prevent it from being used on a daily driven car.

It's like a gang bang! Only where everybody wears pajamas and doesnt have sex, or kiss, and is probably sober. Ok, so its a gang-cuddle...But if i wanted to pay $30 to cuddle for a night, i'd spend a little extra and buy a big teddy bear, or an inflatable woman.

CHEVY 350 (400HP, 4000 FT-LBS)
4,000 ft-lbs?!? Traction will me a major issue there, you might also need some wheelie bars.
-
Impressive. How much time do you have invested in fabbing that?
-
Would a dimpled undercarriage be more efficient than one that was completely flat?
Like the one in the lexus commercial a couple months back?
-
That looks pretty sick, except for the whole 2" of ground clearance. Very nice work though, you matched it up well

It's ridiculous that 110 octane only cost 0.80 more than california's crap gas (91 octane). I'd pay the difference in a heartbeat.

I know it's not a z, but it sucks for somebody, and a moose.

Ultimately, the rear of your car needs to be shaped exactly like the rear of the Audi R8s...
I'll have my body man get right on that, and i'll try to have him shape the rest of my datsun like the rest of the R8 too.
Forgive my ignorance...but wouldn't downforce the back of the car make the front of the car lighter at high speeds?
Scott - i'm anxious to see the pictures.

Phailure
Cool... should be interesting what becomes of it... but I couldn't help but notice the prof's last name... hope he doesnt have a daughter...
Well if he has a daughter, let's just hope she doesnt marry a Mr. Tang.
Mrs. Poon Tang. tee hee.

http://www.racetep.com/zturboeng.html $795 for JE pistons in any bore size and compression ratio you want, with wrist pins and total seal gapless rings...I dont know if thats more up your alley than the kit you listed, but at least you can make your own pistons. Might be a better deal than custom ross pistons for $690.88 (as per the ross website).

Showed this one to my wife. She's rolling on the floor laughing!
Dan, i'm glad your wife found it amusing. Was she laughing at me on behalf of all the hot women out there who will never get in my car, compliment me, and pump my gas?

I would hate to pay their power bill! those cupped/balled quarters were kinda cool though.

Think that guy has a girl friend? How you you like to live next door to the guy with his own EMP machine? TV reception must be a beach.
Who needs a girlfriend when you can play with 1 million amperes and shrink quarters all day?

One that attracted as many hot girls as it would car dudes.
Seriously, i'd have to go with a custom lightweight tube chassis, carbon fiber body panels, full lexan windows, air conditioning that would rival a meat locker, all aluminum twin turbo v8 matched to a fully sequential 6 speed transmission and getting 60 mpg AROUND TOWN. I'd also have to incorporate a crazy wide body kit (while keeping the stock lines as much as possible) and underbody redesign for higher terminal speeds.
Did i mention free, and with a totally hot chick that constantly told me how hot me and my awesome Z make her. She would also have to pump my gas.

New daily driver is a Hybrid (sort of)

The CTS is one of my favorite cars, as well as the new XLR.
I'm sure there is a towbar for it somewhere out there. If there is, my dad can find it.
He's put a towbar on his 95 caddy, 420SEL Benz, and for my mom's birthday a few years back, he got her a towbar for her Z28 Camaro. What a guy.
