  1. I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but are there any plans to do a later style dash in the future ? That is sweet, I would love a CF one, but $1200, ouch ! Too spendy for me at the moment ! Jason
  2. OK, I just couldn't live with being that lazy.... From the PDK website, coming soon... "240 - 260 style" Finally A dash that is an exact duplicate of the original. This dash will weighs 6.5 lbs That's 38 lbs less than the original metal dash. Made for race application Aftermarket gauges are highly suggested
  3. That is sweet, somehow this is the first time I have seen it. Can't tell for sure, is it a 240 style ? Jason
  4. Hey Dan, car looks great ! I do have a question for you, just out of curiosity. I noticed this a while back, and now that I have mine in hand and know for sure, I have to ask. Are the slight lips over the rear wheel arches a custom touch ? I have not seen them on any other YZ quarters, they look almost like the stock wheel arch lip.... Jason
  5. At one point someone also mentioned a splitter/chin spoiler for the MSA aero air dam. If the price were anywhere near right I would buy that.... Might be harder to do the plug for that one, requiring custom work, but I have seen a cut down Civic or S13 one that looked great somewhere (web, not in person) Jason
  6. Everyone here probably already knows this, but I wanted to share that I just received my 280YZ rear quarters, and had an excellent experience with John and Reaction Research. While I think we were both slightly scattered due to the time of year, everything was delivered exactly as promised and very quickly. I still find it hard to believe that quality fiberglass parts can be made to order that quickly. The parts themselves are very nice, well above average in quality and fitment. John was excellent, very helpful and with almost immediate response, even checking in on me to ask if I was still working on the project a couple of months after I originally inquired with him. I have to admit that I originally thought that the price and crating charges were a little high, but after seeing the parts side by side with other glass I have bought for this project, there is no comparison. The parts are worth the price, and I think I am going to use the crate they came in as a shelf in my garage. Very nicely professionally packed, resulting in absolutely no shipping damage, even though the crate had obviously taken a couple of whacks. John Washington and Reation Research have yet another happy customer..... Jason
  7. Ditto. In addition to a stock style, what about a bolt in with some alternate lighting, maybe like a Skyline style ? Jason
  8. Matthews huh, I was just there yesterday, running around the Charlotte area with some friends. Let me know how the harness works out... Jason
  9. I have the EZWiring 18 circuit kit, but I haven't done anything with it yet. It is going into a car that will be completely rewired. Only issue I have with it is some of the wires seem a little light to me, but I plan to realy everything that could be an issue, so no problem there, plus they are heavier than most new cars. Whichever one you use, you will still need a fuel injection harness, they are not inculed in any othe the 18 circuit style kits I have seen. You can make one up fairly easily I think, depending on what you want to use. I plan to make on for my Megasquirt, but it would be that same idea for any aftermarket FI unit. Where in NC are you ? Jason
  10. He actually lit matches around the injectors of a pressurized fuel rail...... says one thing, he trusts his product..... I had some reservation about how either of these setups sealed at the lower end, from the videos we have been treated to, I guess that's over. Jason
  11. Which is exactly why I don't want a "real" fuel cell, but I do need a new tank, and the factory one wouldn't fit my car now anyway. I can get a "plastic" "fuel cell" with foam and a GM sender for my aftermarket fuel guage for about $200. To me it really is just a replacement tank. That's why I was wondering if there were any bad experiences here, or any inherent problems with them. Only thing I have heard before is that the foam might break down after a few years. Jason
  12. Just curious, because I have been pndering the same thing, and am leaning toward plastic right now. Do you (anyone) feel there is anything inherently wrong with the plastic ones ? You can get them with foam and a built in sensor as well. I like the mounting options better on the plastic ones, (strap), but I am open to everyones opinion. My car will be mostly street, so I don't have a need for a true fuel cell setup (box / bladder and all). Jason
  13. Well, I hope it helps ease your mind some at least. You should be able to tell, since I have been a member here for 3 years, and my posts are not yet out of the teens, I don't spend a lot of time sucking up or stroking egos. I had not yet at the time I wrote the message above even read the install guide that MobytheVan has put together. I hope you will take this as an unbiased opinion, I am quite impressed with what he has done, he obviously has been involved with the MS project far longer than I have, and has accomplished much more than I, I think he is doing a good thing by sharing his information with the Z community. As someone noted above, I think that fervor is easily mistaken for marketing sometimes. I did forget one major component as I sleepily typed last night, you will need an O2 sensor, which will cost a bit extra in a first gen because you will need to have a boss for it welded on. I still think the $300 range is valid though. Jason
  14. I don't have the MS installed yet, I just have it running on the stim, so no pics of the unit installed, I do have these pics of mine assembled, I threw this page together a while back to share an alternate case I found.... http://www.jasonjarvis.com/mscase.html I don't think I hav $150 in what I have so far. Add a 240SX throttle body to get a real TPS, convert to a GM coolant sensor and add an IAT sensor (around $30 each for sensors and pigtails I think) and do some wiring. I don't see why you couldn't do it for $300 or so, as long as you can do the work yourself, I plan to completely rewire mine and convert to Bosch domestic style injectors, so that will run a lot more. I'm sorry I don't have more concrete answere to your questions, but I felt the need to post, since I haven't much on this topic before. Personally I feel the MS is a very worthwile project, it has allowed me to learn more about electronics and EFI, and the style of the project appeals to my open-source side. One thing to keep in mind, anything you do in preparation for the MS, wiring, sensor / throttle body conversion etc, will also work with any other aftermarket EFI system. Point is, even if MS doesn't work out for you, you haven't wasted much time or money outside of the kit itself
  15. Several good pics (of the flares) at the beginning of this thread..... http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=28431 Jason
  16. Yes I do' date=' sorry about that..... [img']http://www.jasonjarvis.com/bolt-on.jpg[/img] Anybody have better pics, I stole these quickly..... I like the idea of the splitter for the MSA front bumper / air dam too, I would buy that.... Jason
  17. What about a set of the bolt on 432 style flares, that would be interesting....
  18. I know a guy who has done it, his 78 280 looks awesome, but he said the guy who did it said he would never do it again. ZX roof section on the Z, even has the ZX headliner and map lights. I will ask him to check out this thread tomorrow. Jason
  19. The Z32 N/A is an R200V, at ~4.1, the Turbo is an R230 at like 3.8. I don't know about the snout differences... Jason
  20. The kit here is on a ZX, an S130. I think the previously mentioned kit for Z's is the Primadonna, yes, the wing is bigger.... Do a web search for Z and Primadonna, I found a couple, but didn't want to link out.... Jason
  21. I have absolutely no intention of trashing MAS or anything, but know what you are getting with that front end. I have one, and I am sure it is great for a race application, but if you want to make it look good for the street, or especially show, it is going to cost you a lot more than you pay for the part. It is designed as a race part I suppose, but it seems to be a fairly quick and dirty splash of a car, some parts of it look great, other parts do not. Examples are the corners at the a pillars are not complete, just a quick round off, and the fender does not seem dimensionally accurate, plus the bottom is not complete, so the fender does not completely cover the rocker, much less reach the flange / bolt area. Like I said, ligtweight probably a great race part, but for street use and looking good, you are in for a lot of work. Jason
  22. Oh, I haven't spen much time under a Z31, but I think the Z31 and S13 are quite different. The S13 was the first car (as far as I know) in the US to use the rear cradle design that carried Nissan RWD cars through the 90's. Todays design is very similar too (Z33 etc.) but not bolt compatible as I understand it. You are correct on the similarities between the Skyline and the 240SX, the Z32 and J30 were very similar too. - Jason
