  1. this would be an interesting swap in a z car! Wonder if summit racing sells any adapter plates that you could use to allow the use of a v8 700r4?

  3. I would eliminate the a/c but the 280zx I am getting doesn't have t-tops. which would be a problem in the summer. I wanna run the 700r4, I'm not sure what kind of power steering the 280zx has...what ever it is I plan to use the jags-that-run headers. oleh please tell me about your 83 ZX- Vk56DE swap. Do you have any links to pics?

  5. What are you guys doing as far as tranny lines, power steering lines, a/c lines, fuel lines ect! Anyone vendors sell anything?
  6. yeah that is what I'm p[rolly gonna end up doing. After I figure out everything that I need for the datsun swap. I'm still trying to figure out everything like tranny lines, power steering lines, a/c lines, fuel lines ect! didn't realise how much work this would be! nothing is easy huh? What are you guys doing as far as these parts go?

  13. I noticed for simplicity alot of folks aren't running the a/c on their lt1 swaps. I hear that the lt1 compressor has clearence issues being that its on the bottom of the motor it hits the frame.   15. ok as far as the wiring goes what harness did you use? Does anyone sell a custom harness for this application?

  17. TONY C-thanks for the info, I do have a great understanding of the lc2(grand national motor but I lack the $$$ to swap it in the datsun! That was the original plan but it cost alot of $$ to do something like that as there are no kits for it! I'm trying to keep the cost at least somewhat modest! hmmm I dunno man I am having trouble findin any datsuns, there aren't many around my way!
  18. hmmm thanks, so is that what you would go for? Also do you know any 280z or zx specfic boards? I'm having trouble finding a decently priced 280zx for sale! Do you know any place I could look?
  19. ok I have a slight delema! I have always been into the z cars, I have never owned a hybid z just 300zx(z32). Recently I was think about building a 280zxt powered LT1 with a 4l60e or a t56! The car that already have is a Complete 87 buick Grand National parts car and I also have a nice non turbo Regal rolling chassis! I was gonna put the two cars together, and have another nice turbo buick! The times I was hoping to run were in the mid to low elevens which would be no problem with the scary fast buicks. As everyone know the buicks are kinda pricey so i am starting to second guess! Now the Z car on the other hand has to be a 280zx Turbo. The Z car will prolly handle better, has 4 wheel disc brakes, t-tops, aero dynamics, has the option of a manual tranny and is considerably lighter. Also the lt1 would make good power and should be quite formidable. I'm not such which one would be cheaper to build? Also does anyone know any times estimated that I should expect a mildly build lt1 with a 4l60e in a 81-83 280zxturbo to produce. Any non bias in put would be greatly appreciated. 1. Which ever one I choose I want the car to be a daily driver in the summer. 2.be very reliable 3. ok on gas 4. decently quick 5. comfortable 6. a good all around performcer.

I'm thinking some sort of forced induction now...possible blower or maybe some sort of turbo kits....I use to know of a million places tht sold turbo kits for LT1 and lsx series motors even the old tpi motors but I has been so long...when you have a grand national you don't exactly need to look up any turbo kits

  23. hey I'm gonna be building a 280zx powered by an lt1. I was wondering what kinda of stock times I can expect. The 280zx is around 2800lbs so with 300hp/280lbs torque it should run mid 12's to low 13's depending on traction? I'm assuming this is in the same ballpark becasue my Grand national ran very low 13's it was a 3300lb car and made about 300hp/370lbs torque! later on I plan to upgrade the lt1 but I just wanna know what the lt1 platform I'm working with is gonna be capable of?! I will be running the 4l60e tranny and the f-body lt1.... the modds I want down the line are a nitrous express kit 100shot, comp cam nitrous cam, ported stock heads, headers, exhaust cutout and a 2800-3000 stall with a 280zxT rear. Any feed back would greatly help my research thanks
