Hey guys, I just bought a parts car and the guy who I bought it from told me it had an LSD from a 300zx. It has the finned cover on it and when I jacked it up i spun one wheel and the other spun along with it. My question is how can I tell if it is an lsd, and what gear ratio is in it?? The reason I ask is because when I was removing it from the car, it looked like the diff had never been touched since the factory installed it. The 4 bolts that hold diff to the rear cross mem had never been touched. I ended up taking the entire rear sub frame/ cross mem off to remove the diff because the there is no way to reach the bolts on top of it. This is off an '83 zx by the way. Once I took it down I saw that the bolts were covered in grime leading me to believe they never removed it. Can they have just changed the diff inside the pumpkin?? I also noticed that right above where the diff mounts(diff mount bushing), they had changed the bracket that goes connected to the chassis. Anyway, if someone could shed some light it'll be great..

I have 16x9 rears and 16x8 front running the 245/50 out back and 225/50 up on the front. I was looking for some wheels and ended up buying the entire car for parts. I dont know the offset of them but the car is lowered about 1 1/2" and have no clearance problems. It did have a 1/2" spacer up front but the fenders didn't need to be rolled. The set up looks bad ass in my opinion, just the right size all around...Here's the pics of the parts car.

Hey guys, I need your opinion on which turbo I should go with. I've got an rb25det /280zx which i'm putting together and would like to get about 425 +/- to the wheels. I already bought a few of the mods but i'm not sure which turbo to go with. I searched the forum and found that that alot of people are running the gt35r and seem to be very happy with it. I've concidered it but i dont know which trim and a/r to go with. Its going to be a street driven car (about 16lbs) so i would like to keep the lag down to as much as possible. I also want to make sure that i'm not pushing the turbo to its limit, meaning that it i wanted to turn up the boost to 20lbs its not going to be coughing out a lung. I'm going to run stock internals with a cometic 1.2 head gasket,arp head studs, injectors are going to in the 600-660's, greddy intake/90mm tb, & a haltech e11. I also bought an hks exh manifold but i dont know if it would fit in the car without hitting the steering arm so its an iffy. Ive tried calling speed shop thagard to find out about the header they have on there web site but have'nt been able to get anyone to return my calls so If anyone knows of any other way of contacting them, please let me know. Let me know what you guys think, especially from those of you that are running the gt's in your rb25. I'm open to any suggestions...Thanks

Welcome aboard!! It's great to see an RB going in into a ZX. You don't see many of them. I'm in the process of doing an RB/zx swap as well, however i've been stuck on the tranny mount issue. I haven't been able to find anyone to make me one & have no idea how to weld, so im stuck...I have a few questions that i would like to ask you, would it be ok if I pm you ..Thanks

If I am not mistaking the starter goes bolted on the tranny from the engine side. How would I do it then? Is Bolting on the trannny the only way?? Thanks.

What would be the best way to check the compression on the motor? I'ts still sitting on the crate & the tranny isnt mounted.

Do you guys think I should be concerned w/ the mileage if that holds true? I still have a few days left on the 30 day warr. & they are local. I plan on replacing the usual oil/water pump, t belt/tensioners, etc.

I got my rb25det about two weeks ago and I havent had a chance to start messing with it yet. I was looking at it today and remembered about the sticker it had on the timing cover. I had asked the guy at shop I bought it from and he said it had to do with emissions. Ive looked at some of the pics here on the forum & i have yet to see an rb with one on it. He told me that the motor had 40k-50k miles, but the sticker says something in japanese and 100,000km on it so i'am a little concerned.If you guys know what it is please fill me in. Thanks

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who knows or can at least recommend a place in China where I can buy a motor/tranny or maybe even a front clip from any R32/33/34. I'm going to be there on vacation (Hong Kong, Beiging, Shanghai) in late April, and I want to try to take advantage while i'm there to make a nice little purchase. I'm not to worried about the shipping because bro-in-law actually ships to and from China, so he told me he would help me out if I needed it. So if you anyone can help out, it'll be great... Whats goin on guys? Im looking for a front spoiler for my 82 zxt, but cant find anything i like. nothing to drastic. i have a pic of a 280zx from japan in an old ed. of sport compact car with a skyline motor w/ the exact front spoiler im looking for, but dont know who makes it. anyhow any help is apprec. I have an '82 zxt & I'am looking to upgrade the brake system. Is there anyone that knows of any inexpensive swaps (rotors, master cylinder, calipers, even booster) that can help.... Thanks, any info would be appreciated.
