im really debating getting a pair of these. versus these. right now im leaning towards putting the "bullet" style mirrors on my front fenders. i just like the way that looks. does anyone know of a good how to for mounting the mirrors to the front fenders? well there isnt really like a how too, cause you just drill, but for the dimensions where to drill? thanks.

well, thats what i was thinking. just do it to 240 specs cause its got, "240 springs" on it. hmm so are you saying, set the threaded sleeve to the highest, put the coil on. mate it up to the top, till the upper spring perch hits, and then mark on the bottom? where the new lower spring perch is going to go?

here they are, thought id upload em to help out fellow Z users, or give people a better explaination how there installed before they buy em, they could have came in handy for me! haha. anyways, i bet this'll also help out if you buy a "kit" from another company, or if you make your own. mods, feel free to sticky this if needed! (as if there arent a bunch already haha) i got (for my 78 280z): 250 lbs in the front 300 lbs in the rear and 10in springs instead of 12in ones.

that made me lol. thats cool tho. thanks for the link.

thank you! and if i had to guess why its "famous", maybe its cause there isnt another one out there like it? maybe there is? i havent seen one like it tho, or one slammed that much. but i just think its so clean (although the paint is garbage), compared to ones that are restored and have that "stock" look to em.

is this the air dam that i think it is? i like how simple it is, and i dont wanna order it, and it be the wrong one. thanks. oh and i just love how that car looks!

i just didnt know if the rb motor and trans was heavier or lighter. anyways, just what i needed to hear! thanks!

quick ?, search and couldnt find anything. as of now, i planned on putting an rb20 or an rb25 in my 78 280z within a few months, but i planned on buying coilovers in a few days. so i wanted to know if i bought coilovers what would be a good spring rate? i was told with the l28 motor, 200-250 would be enough. but i just wanted to know if the rb motors use the same spring rate as the l28 motors. and sorry if this should be in the suspension section. thanks.

for the hair dryer, wouldnt it make it all goey and such? oh and would removing the sound insulation stuff make the inside louder by a noticeable margin? i really wouldnt mind. i was just planning on removing it all and doing a few coatings of some industrial grade rustoleum flat black paint. would that be good to do? or should i try and do the rubber coating again?
-
aweome. will check it out. i just had no clue that putting that on there would work. thanks.
-
oh and is it a bad idea to remove all of the sound barrier stuff, then get rid of the rust, then paint some flat black paint to seal it all up? i dont care if itll make the ride a little noisier... i just dont want to do it, and then down the road, find it serves another purpose i didnt know it did in the first place.

why cant you just buy like a roll of weather stripping and put it on your car, as youd buy like a roll of tape. i understand the curves and everything its got, but over time, wouldnt it mate up? sure its new, so itll be a little more expensive, but its rubber being pushed through some sort of extrusion. how expensive can that be?

ok, my 78 280z has a little bit of surface rust on the floor board, and i was scraping the thick, rubbery, sound barrier crap they put on there, it was such a pain in the ass (and i wanted to take all of it off, and make sure i got all the rust), then i came across this, skip to 6:15. dry ice takes that stuff off? anyone else got more info on this? thanks. edit: im a goober, forgot certain embad codes dont work here. heres the link. http://motormavens.com/2009/10/webmining-diary-of-a-serial-tire-killer/#comments

like hammer it onto the OD of the lug nut and get it stuck on there? then how do you get it off for the other 3 wheels?
-
hmmm thanks. i might have to go look at em again..
-
sorry for quoting the pics, but it was on like page 3 and i didnt know if you guys would remember what i was talking about. but is it a bad idea to do that with bondo, b/c the next post after this one was someone talking about longevity issues. i planned on bondo-ing the same exact stuff he did. can i just glue a plate underneath it keep the bondo from falling through, then bondo, then sand accordingly? oh and what was the front air dam you got ahold of, i think its on page 3 or 4 or something? im looking for one just like that.
-
thanks, but ill pass, those swastika rims just dont do it for me. anyways, i went to PnP at antelope, and the wheel lock wasnt in the glove box! anyone know where its at? or how i can get it off?
-
